Chapter 1146: 1146 Divine Game: Quiet Mountain 29

Minutes passed, and DawnCicada stood still, unable to move, as the commotion grew distant.

She had been the Vineborne... she had been the one whom Deceitful Bloom plotted for, trying to deceive BS Rita...

How had she suddenly become part of the game?

Was Deceitful Bloom planning something new?

And why did she look so guilty when she saw me? What is she feeling guilty about?!

DawnCicada opened the battlefield chat channel, unwilling to give up and hoping to confirm something.

Messages were pouring in at an alarming rate.

Half an hour ago, Ash Cinders had tried to enter the Demon Game. She used a time-stop item with limited uses, but was blocked from entry by the game.

The Demon Game had been revamped, a situation familiar to anyone who had played Divine Game before.

After Ash Cinders deactivated the time-stop, she was allowed to enter, but inside the Demon Game, she encountered five God’s Apostles.

[Isolated Isle Lightchaser]: It’s probably to hunt her down.

[DawnCicada]: So she came to Quiet Mountain to protect her?

[Isolated Isle Lightchaser]: Or maybe just because she was bored.

[DawnCicada]: I think so too.

[BS Crab]: Who are you talking about?

[Isolated Isle Lightchaser]: A chef.

[DawnCicada]: ... I don’t feel like talking about it.

[DawnCicada]: She’s not even pretending anymore!!! What exactly is she feeling guilty about?!

[BS Crab]: ???

[Winter Sea Frenzied Shark]: Am I seeing things? Did I just see DawnCicada’s network walking hand-in-hand with BS Rita, both laughing as they ran?

[BS Crab]: What kind of horrifying image are you describing?

[Lania KaiaMaple Syrup]: I saw it too. I thought I was seeing things, but it’s true.

[DawnCicada]: It wasn’t hand-in-hand, it was Vine wrapping around! Winter Sea Frenzied Shark, stop exaggerating the gossip!

[Winter Sea Frenzied Shark]: So "laughing while running" wasn’t an exaggeration?

[TingoJE]: ... DawnCicada didn’t even refute it.

[Lania KaiaMaple Syrup]: To be fair, BS Rita wasn’t laughing. It was the network member who was smiling at BS Rita.

[DawnCicada]: Enough!!

[Tiger Ear Kessa]: DawnCicada, are you hoping BS Rita smiles, or are you hoping she doesn’t?

[TingoJE]: I’m laughing, though.

DawnCicada clenched her teeth and shut the battlefield chat channel. Her reasoning held her back from chasing after them.

Though her anger remained unresolved, the few seconds of interaction had given her a lot of information. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Whether it was Deceitful Bloom’s combat attire, the abnormal expression and eyes of BS Rita, or the Vine connecting their wrists, it all pointed to one answer—BS Rita was under manipulation.

With the information gathered from the chat, DawnCicada was no fool. She could tell that BS Rita had become far more important to Uncharted Star Sea than ever before. If Deceitful Bloom had descended here to protect her, then interfering was out of the question.

Not only had she guessed part of the truth, but many players who had been following the battlefield chat channel and had visited the shrine had also picked up on it.

The fact that the Demon Game had been revised, that God’s Apostles were now after her, and that Uncharted Star Sea deities had descended into Quiet Mountain looking for her meant that BS Rita’s strength had already reached a level that could influence the outcome of the battle between two worlds.

It was a shame, though... using time-stop to enter the Demon Game was now blocked...

It was truly a shame.

In a corner of Forest Sea, Lightchaser played with the Order Badge in her hands.

Although she and Ash Cinders could only use the time-stop item three times, even with its limited uses, if used correctly, it could provide excellent training.

They knew that Divine Game in Uncharted Star Sea also had something similar—Divine Courses.

However, just as the Demon Game was revised due to BS Rita’s actions, Divine Game had also been very cautious in giving out Divine Courses, which meant that such time-altering actions couldn’t be used endlessly.

She sighed deeply, unsure of how to catch up with her apprentice and that annoying Vineborne.

Putting away the Order Badge, she looked at moonbear, who was lying on the table, holding a honey jar.

"Are you okay?" Lightchaser asked.

Moonbear raised a paw and waved it. "Let me be."

Lightchaser didn’t mind her rare concern being rejected. In fact, for her and moonbear, her apprentice’s existence was the closest they could get to feeling emotional!

She got up. "I’m leaving. I’m going to check out Frost Deer’s city. Once I’ve used up my visitor count, come find me if you still want the badge."

Moonbear nodded.

Just as Lightchaser was about to push open the door and leave, Ash Cinders suddenly asked, "Actually, you care, don’t you?"

Before Lightchaser could speak, Ash Cinders went on, "You hide it really well, but you always do this. The more upset you are, the calmer you look."

The sound of the door closing abruptly answered her question, like a full stop to all of Ash Cinders’ words. Lightchaser refused to engage in any further conversation.

What was she concerned about? The fact that she would never again get the adoration of her apprentice’s eyes, or was it because of Deceitful Bloom’s words?

Wasn’t she supposed to be a genius? How come she had to face two such unbearable feelings of helplessness in her life?

Deceitful Bloom and BS Rita were walking toward Midsummer.

As for why they were crossing multiple domains to reach this city, Deceitful Bloom didn’t explain, as BS Rita didn’t care about that at all.

Only Nivalis and B80 might have cared.

Deceitful Bloom wasn’t one to meddle in things unnecessarily. Her job was to keep BS Rita from being taken by Quiet Mountain, not to babysit. As for BS Rita’s intention to kill Nivalis and B80, Deceitful Bloom had no interest in getting involved or protecting them.

If those two pets cared so much about their lives, they should just go back to their pet space.

But Deceitful Bloom had underestimated their thick skin.

Had she made her temperament look too gentle?

Nivalis and B80 had spent the whole time hiding inside Deceitful Bloom’s hood, wrapping themselves up in her silver hair, with only their heads sticking out. They would occasionally peek out to let BS Rita see them, and each time BS Rita would pull out her sword.

To avoid having her hair cut off, Deceitful Bloom had to say, "They’re not mission targets. They’re your teammates, just not very important."

Nivalis and B80 were dissatisfied but didn’t dare protest.

Unfortunately, this didn’t work. BS Rita still tried to kill them, so Nivalis and B80 had to use skills to change their forms. This trick worked wonders, and BS Rita no longer focused on them.

But now, Nivalis and B80 felt disappointed.

Deceitful Bloom sighed, "... I don’t want to be part of your game. If you keep changing to provoke her, get out of my hood."

The two pets finally quieted down. But it was almost 6 p.m., and BS Rita had started to grow restless. She began rummaging through her pockets, and then she remembered that her last task had been to destroy the Order Badge.

Occasionally, she would glance at Deceitful Bloom with a look of helplessness, a once lifeless figure now displaying a touch of pity.

Nivalis whispered from under Deceitful Bloom’s hood, "She wants to go back into the game for her daily routine..."

140,000 daily routines, suddenly cut off. Who could handle that?
