This Life, I Will Be the Protagonist-Chapter 1155: Divine Game Quiet Mountain 38
It was 3 AM on the 15th day of the game.
The white flower dragon with ruby-red horns continued to circle above "Midsummer," and the golden thunderstorm grew heavier. The rain had already covered a third of "Midsummer," and it even spread to the clock tower where Kessa was standing.
The types of weather in that area were becoming fewer, signaling that SS Rita had begun attempting to control the magical elements of other Celestialkin.
Kessa adjusted her hood to shield herself from the rain, realizing that even her good weather had been affected.
—"Are you ready?"
Kessa didn’t need to turn around to know who it was. The voice of QM Rita was unmistakable, filled with overwhelming pressure. Sometimes, Kessa even wondered if it was a sound-based attack skill.
Moreover, she could sense the weather around her. For Celestialkin with top-level control over magical elements, each being’s presence could be matched with a corresponding weather pattern. Right now, Kessa could feel hail, cold winds, heavy mist, and constant rain surrounding her.
Rita, Mistblade, Maple Syrup.
She glanced behind her to confirm her suspicion.
This was a little game Kessa played by herself. Even though the weather patterns around them were always harsh, she took some twisted pleasure in identifying them. Every time she guessed correctly, it made her feel a small moment of joy.
In a good mood, she spoke up: "We’re good to go. Should be enough with the four of us, right? Just how strong is she, that you need to stop me from going after her alone?"
"Without using my demon talent or relics, I can’t win against her. Even if I could, I couldn’t kill her. I need you guys."
With that, QM Rita stood at the edge of the clock tower, staring at the white flower dragon flying at the same level as her. Her gaze moved downward through the golden rain, landing on a pair of red eyes that mirrored those of the flower dragon.
"Deceitful Bloom." She whispered the name beneath her metal mask.
"But this is outside the Demon Game. Even if you kill her, she’ll just respawn in Uncharted Star Sea," Kessa said, her voice steady. "That’s the intel you got from SS SmokeTune."
QM Rita looked up at the sky, but there was no sign of the reaction she had hoped for. "First, let’s bring her health down. I’ll rewrite the settings at the last moment."
QM Rita arrived earlier than expected!
Deceitful Bloom reached out to grab BS Rita’s shoulder, planning to take her and flee immediately. She roughly yanked at BS Rita’s collar, trying to wake her, but at this critical moment, the weather above all the Celestialkin under the flower dragon’s domain turned into a golden drizzle.
Just a little longer, and she would be able to control these weather patterns.
Deceitful Bloom gave up on waking BS Rita with a skill. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the shadows of four figures—now three—on the clock tower. Without a second thought, she pulled BS Rita away from the spot.
Almost immediately, a long knife stabbed into the exact spot where BS Rita had been standing, the tip of the blade rising up. A black-gloved hand gripped the hilt.
QM Rita!
Even though Deceitful Bloom knew that the clones here in Quiet Mountain were significantly different from their originals, she hadn’t expected QM Rita to look like this. For a moment, it felt like she was experiencing the same sensation she had when she first saw the Quiet Mountain clone of Deceitful Bloom.
QM Rita’s expression remained calm, even though she had come to eliminate another version of herself. There was no intense emotion in her gaze. However, when her eyes fell upon the flower thread connecting Deceitful Bloom and SS Rita’s wrists, her expression instantly changed.
Her dark gaze moved upwards, inch by inch, until it locked on Deceitful Bloom’s face. She spoke slowly, each word heavy with meaning: "You dare control me?"
Ah, she figured it out. This is exciting. Deceitful Bloom wasn’t intimidated by the intensity of QM Rita’s gaze. Instead, she raised an eyebrow and smirked, teasingly. BS Rita’s full weight rested on her now, and without hesitation, Deceitful Bloom lifted her onto her back.
The move caused two small creatures inside her hood to squeak in protest.
The flower thread between their wrists continued to dance provocatively toward BS Rita’s ear. It split into a V shape and mimicked two fingers. According to her knowledge of BS culture, this represented happiness. As QM Rita’s expression grew darker, Deceitful Bloom smiled and said, "Even without the Flower of Deceit, she will still listen to me. I am her teacher."
She paused before adding, "The teacher who has been with her the longest."
Before QM Rita could charge, Deceitful Bloom dodged the blow and began running beneath the flower dragon, buying as much time as possible. She couldn’t attack the Quiet Mountain players, but leading them on a one-versus-four chase was still within her abilities.
From within her hood, Nivalis and B80—now squished between Deceitful Bloom’s shoulders—strained to look around. Nivalis turned and saw QM Rita charging at them, sword in hand, and cried out, "Master!!"
B80 also shouted, "Master!"
QM Rita: ?
Deceitful Bloom deftly dodged a swing from QM Mistblade’s long knife, then casually responded, "Then what is SS Rita?"
Nivalis immediately answered, "I was just calling out, not really thinking about it."
B80: "Just a polite greeting." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
The two of them then shrank back inside the hood.
Deceitful Bloom’s pace increased, and she jumped to avoid a punch and blade from QM Kessa. As she swirled away from the smoke stick and blood-encrusted knife, a gleam appeared in her eyes as she activated a divine skill to probe.
Above them, some of the flower petals from the white flower dragon drifted toward the four attackers, gathering information above their heads for Deceitful Bloom.
[QM Rita Demon Talent — Quiet Mountain-level "Extra"]
[Quiet Mountain Maple Syrup Demon Talent — Quiet Mountain-level "Decay"]
[QM Mistblade Demon Talent — Quiet Mountain-level "Descent"]
[QM Kessa Divine Talent — SSS-level "Off-season gentleness"]
Deceitful Bloom’s expression changed slightly, realizing that this situation just became a bit more complicated.
A wisp of smoke blew her way, and instantly, Deceitful Bloom’s body senses went haywire. Her thoughts, movements, everything started to dull. She could tell she would adapt and recover in a few moments, but the problem was that she could feel her skill casting times were now multiplied. Even instant-cast skills were taking longer.
Worse still, she sensed that Maple Syrup was trying to seize control over part of her body. The most obvious sign was that she suddenly had the overwhelming urge to elbow BS Rita off her back.
At the same time, her head began to ache violently, as if she hadn’t slept well in years. Turning her gaze, she saw that QM Mistblade, who had previously looked half-dead, now seemed full of vitality.
Nivalis, still observing from the hood, couldn’t understand the Vineborne script or the demon talents, but the sudden shift in the dynamics between QM Mistblade and Deceitful Bloom was so apparent that even she could guess what was happening.
She immediately fumed, "How can lack of sleep cause a transfer?! Wait, how can you even be affected by lack of sleep?"
Deceitful Bloom, still running, furrowed her brows, "She’s intentionally fostering this state."
She now had hundreds of negative status effects stacking up, and even her thoughts were becoming jumbled. This wasn’t just sleep deprivation—it was self-inflicted torture.
QM Mistblade smiled as she complimented, "Very clever, you must be SS Deceitful Bloom, huh? You’re kind of impressive."
Deceitful Bloom sighed inwardly. Uncharted Star Sea should compensate me for this mental distress. Being beaten up in the newbie village by a group, and getting critiqued by the newbies... Foolishness should take this one for me!
