Chapter 1182: 1182: Lightchaser: Can’t Explain to You

By the shore of Moonlight Marsh, Ash Cinders had just finished a session of the God Game course, and she couldn’t help but reflect on her title, GodDraw77.

Once, she thought this title was filled with regrets and flaws, but now, as she stood outside Isolated Isle, she found herself grateful for the title that had accompanied her for years. She was grateful for the random title skill she had received back then.

Title Skill - "Legend Full of Regrets": Whenever someone calls your name as "GodDraw77", you will gain some combat insights or life lessons. A legendary life is best accompanied by some regrets.

She had always been vaguely thankful for what this title had brought her. Now, that gratitude had only grown. Otherwise, she couldn’t imagine the immense sense of defeat she would have faced after entering the God Game.

As she thought this, Lightchaser came into view across the lake. She silently sat down, resting one hand on her chin, while the other absentmindedly poked the surface of the water with a piece of grass.

Her expression was cold, but it was clear that she was sulking.

Glancing at the ship in the sky and the star trailing behind it, Ash Cinders easily guessed where Lightchaser had gone.

Ash Cinders said, "Lost?"

Lightchaser lifted her eyelids slightly and gave her a glance. "Didn’t win."

It was the first time Ash Cinders had heard Lightchaser be so blunt. It made sense though; after all, she was the one who raised this apprentice.

Not long ago, Lightchaser had been flying beside her, happily spinning around with dreams of surpassing her. If only she could grow taller than her friends, that would be even better.

But just a few blinks of an eye, and she had grown to this level.

Moreover, during Quiet Mountain, that Vineborne had even personally taken her apprentice away from Lightchaser.

But whether it was Ash Cinders or Lightchaser, neither of them looked particularly anxious or serious. Instead, they appeared relaxed and content.

This was because Ash Cinders had used her God Game rewards to ask a question.

— "If Isolated Isle hadn’t been opened, and they hadn’t entered the God Game, would Isolated Isle still have to face the final pendulum strike?"

The gods had given a clear answer.

Perhaps this was terrible news for Isolated Isle, but it completely relieved Lightchaser and Ash Cinders. Not only did they no longer carry any burden, but they were also immensely grateful to witness the vastness of the universe and the truth of the world in the final moments, rather than perishing in ignorance.

Most importantly, they still had time to find a way to save Isolated Isle.

This information was, of course, passed on to the heads of the academy who had pressured their apprentices back in the day. The awkward expressions on their faces were enough to make Lightchaser and Ash Cinders reminisce for quite some time.

Lightchaser poked at the water for a while, then suddenly spoke in a disgruntled tone, "She used her honor points to buy an item from the honor shop, and gave me back my Soulfire."

Ash Cinders replied, "That’s good." What’s with this bad mood?

Lightchaser, sensing the warning in Ash Cinders’ tone, glanced at her with an annoyed look and tossed the grass away. "Forget it. I can’t explain it to you."

Ash Cinders smiled wryly, guessing that Lightchaser’s pride was getting in the way.

Losing to an apprentice was one thing, but having the most important thing she did for her apprentice—the act of returning the Soulfire—being concluded by someone else, that must’ve been hard to take. Facing her apprentice, Lightchaser had lost her role as the caretaker, giver, and guardian.

That feeling was hard to put into words.

Ash Cinders smiled and nodded, her tone filled with affection. "It’s fine. At least she’ll never grow taller than you in this life. You still have something over her."

Lightchaser: ...

Seeing Lightchaser rushing at her with a dagger in hand, Ash Cinders quickly transformed into her most defensive form, the moonbear, and ran off, swerving to avoid the attack.

Two days before the pendulum strike arrived in Uncharted Star Sea, Rita stopped traveling and instead docked BS at the world’s port, taking her vice-captains and ship back to BS to wait for the pendulum.

Although she worked day and night, constantly writing, and tried her best to use Waste Guide for the 48-hour time stop, she had only managed to repay less than half of the 5000 World Sigh debt she owed from using Before the Sigh Sounds.

After all, as a price for carrying BS around, she owed one World Sigh unit every day she opened her eyes.

That afternoon, Rita was sitting in the garden, writing fervently, while a line of cats, a little dragon, and three small robots were perched on the nearby wall. Smoke Tune was watering the flowers in the garden.

The lantern and ship’s wheel flew about the yard. Rita hadn’t put away these divine relics in quite a while.

Mistblade, Pine Bloom, and Crab entered the villa, and what they saw was this scene.

The person raised her eyes to glance at them, placed the notebook on the table, and stood up. "You’re here?"

Knowing that Rita wouldn’t call them together just to talk about nonsense, Mistblade got straight to the point. "What are your plans?"

Rita replied, "For this pendulum strike, I plan to take BS into Lania Kaia, and see if we can share the world skill with Lania Kaia’s world skill."

Without entering Invasion Sequence, could they "hide" in Lania Kaia and share the world skills?

This was the result of her careful consideration. Since Dawn—Lania Kaia had no three-star worlds in its Invasion Sequence, there was no risk of world skills being diluted.

If Mistblade’s world skill could connect six-star Lania Kaia and eight-star Dawn, then perhaps Wither’s world skill could also affect BS. That way, even if the four-star world couldn’t withstand the pendulum strike, BS could survive using this method.

Even if they couldn’t share, it wouldn’t affect BS.

It was a low-risk, potentially high-reward experiment.

If Rita’s experiment succeeded... then for the third and fourth strikes... perhaps they could gather more worlds and world skills to face them? 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

At that time, BS and BS Rita’s roles would be extremely special.

As Rita explained her plan, Mistblade, Pine Bloom, Crab, and Smoke Tune’s eyes lit up, clearly realizing the key to the plan.

Mistblade and Pine Bloom still had their kin in Lania Kaia, and Smoke Tune’s connection with Dawn Cicada was well known. With these two relationships, Lania Kaia and Dawn wouldn’t oppose it.

Once they confirmed that all the leaders were on board, Rita opened the battlefield chat.

[BS Rita]: Is anyone from Lania Kaia here? I can bring BS into Lania Kaia and try if Mistblade’s world skill and Lania Kaia’s Wither skill can share. Should we try this plan?

[Nuclear Flash NightFury]: BS Rita! You can try it in our Nuclear Flash.

[TingoAutumn Deer]: Tingo can also!

[Winter Sea Frenzied Shark]: The door of Winter Sea is always open to BS.

[MarmangLulumi]: Marmang can also! Crab, speak up!

[Verdant Verdant Whisper · Windrush]: BS Rita, I’ll offer 5 million honor points. Please come to Verdant to try.

[Lania KaiaFat Goose]: What are you all doing! She invited Lania Kaia!

[Fury Prayer]: Lania Kaia once invaded BS, and the conflict between Dawn Cicada and BS Rita still stands. Should I repeat it? Lania Kaia and Dawn are not good choices, BS Rita, come to Fury instead!
