This Life, I Will Be the Protagonist-Chapter 1189: Divine Game, Divine Instruction 3
Foolishness led the players through the miraculous palace.
"You don’t need to know my name for now. Just call me teacher."
Her cool, even voice echoed through the halls. Before anyone could ask questions, she began speaking casually about the changes in the Divine Game.
"Unlike the Demon Game, which selects first and then trains, the Divine Game of Uncharted Star Sea exists to give players an environment that is as fair as possible. As gods, we are only allowed to give a little preference and attention within the rules. We cannot interfere further. Only when the bells begin to ring do we start training the remaining players.
"You’ve made it this far, or rather, you’ve been assigned to me. That means you don’t lack combat experience. Your combat models and styles are already deeply ingrained. This game lasts only thirty days. Even with time based tools, the actual time I can teach you is limited.
"So instead of forcing you to fight the way I prefer, it’s better to focus on what I’m best at. At the very least, it won’t interfere with your existing styles."
As Foolishness spoke, the golden orbs circling the players never stopped. They attacked at random, sometimes even veering off course to strike a nearby player.
All five were in chaos. Their attributes had been reduced to an average of 1000, so sometimes their minds reacted faster than their bodies. More importantly, the attack angles of these ridiculous sounding toys were viciously precise.
Within minutes, Rita was already drenched in cold sweat. At first, the orbs attacked randomly. Then they began probing her subconscious defensive reactions and quickly identified the locations of her fatal weaknesses.
With nineteen vital points on her body, even though she knew rationally that relaxation made concealment easier, her instincts still protected certain areas.
What she believed to be subtle defenses were completely transparent to an opponent with sharp perception. Instead, they became clear markers.
It was not just her. Maple Syrup and the others were visibly struggling as well. Combat flaws that never seemed problematic before were suddenly exposed everywhere.
Foolishness had said she would not teach combat, yet from the very beginning she was already correcting their mistakes and vulnerabilities with precision.
Her voice continued.
"The joy of making toys lies in taking useless or ordinary parts, polishing them, assembling them, and turning them into art.
"That’s what I’m good at. Creation.
"Deceitful Bloom always says this isn’t real creation. I can only say she’s sometimes hopelessly confused."
Rita nodded repeatedly while swinging her daggers to knock back the orbs.
Dawn Cicada was unconvinced, but she held it in.
She had not forgotten the scene of that Vineborne running hand in hand with this woman through Forest Sea. There was no reason for her to jump in.
"I can put it another way," Foolishness continued. "Assembly and modification. Once you master this, you can try treating your skills like components. Reassemble them. Create miracles."
She stopped in front of a workshop and turned around, arms crossed, looking at the five students flailing weapons at the golden orbs.
"So, do you want to learn?"
They were all busy.
Yet without exception, all five answered immediately.
"Yes!"
As Foolishness said, at their level, combat style and technique were already fixed. Going from fifty to ninety was easy. They were already at ninety five. Further improvement was difficult, especially in just thirty days.
But this ability to refit and recombine skills like toys could push them to a higher level in the shortest time. It also relied on their own creativity and comprehension.
Call it arrogance or stubborn pride. None of them wanted to learn skills identical to everyone else’s.
At that moment, Rita was even a little glad she had been assigned to Foolishness.
Even Dawn Cicada, who had secretly hoped for Deceitful Bloom, felt fortunate. She had the sense not to ask what Deceitful Bloom would teach at a time like this.
She did not ask, but Foolishness brought it up herself.
"If you want to switch classes, that’s fine too."
She raised her hand. A window behind her workshop suddenly opened. Through it, a massive cloud island could be seen in the distance. Red flowers drifted above it, not many, but perfectly placed, turning an otherwise plain island into something breathtaking.
"The teacher on that island is decent as well. Based on past experience, she should teach players how to manipulate their opponents’ skills in combat. If you want to go, I can use my authority to transfer you."
The Foolishness Orbs settled down.
Rita focused on wiping her daggers with her sleeve.
Dawn Cicada pulled a handkerchief from her pocket and began polishing her vines.
Foolishness fell silent.
The two people Deceitful Bloom favored were just as sly as Deceitful Bloom herself.
BS Rita went without saying. Slippery as ever.
What she had not expected was Dawn Cicada. Thick brows, honest looking face. Usually she would frame Deceitful Bloom and put her by the bed to watch her sleep. Now that such a perfect chance for close contact appeared, she was playing dumb.
Foolishness led them into the workshop with the open window. It was about five hundred square meters, styled like a library. Clean, orderly, with bookshelves and desks.
With a snap of her fingers, five chairs appeared in front of the desks. Each chair had a name written on the back.
Foolishness moved to the shelves and began selecting books.
"Sit. Once class starts, the Foolishness Orbs will only attack once per hour."
Rita walked straight to the seat with her name, sat down, placed both hands on the desk, straightened her back, and looked forward at the shelves.
Maple Syrup to her right and Dawn Cicada to her left mirrored her posture exactly.
Kessa said, "Are you playing the ’I won’t play with you anymore’ game? I stopped playing that when I was eight."
Fury Prayer leaned over from Dawn Cicada’s side, his purple hair spilling across the desk.
"Guys never play that childish game. This looks like the kind of cold war couples play."
Kessa leaned over from Maple Syrup’s side.
"Are you trying to destroy this family?"
Rita, Maple Syrup, and Dawn Cicada said nothing.
Nivalis and B80 sat at the workshop entrance, staring longingly at the class inside. They really wanted to join the fighting. Their mouths were itching.
While selecting books, Foolishness casually opened the large chat group.
"Foolishness: She’s with me."
"Deceitful Bloom: Who asked you?"
