This Life, I Will Be the Protagonist-Chapter 1273: Starsea Parking Lot—Lania Kaia
On the second day after reaching an agreement with Dawn Cicada, Rita went to Dawn as promised. She turned the designated portion of players into cookies and took them away. As for Maple Syrup’s free cookie quota, that was a separate deal between Maple Syrup and Dawn Cicada.
That same day was also when Dark Reef descended upon Tiger Ear.
The day before, while Rita was making cookies, Tiger Ear’s other leaders had already guessed what Tiger Ear Quex intended to do. But strength determined authority. They couldn’t defeat Quex, and Tiger Ear still depended on her world skill. Cooperation was their only option.
Moreover, in that situation, there was no point wasting time condemning Quex. It was better to secure as many cookie slots as possible for their own people.
But when the war truly began, when Tiger Ear Quex personally shattered Tiger Ear, the resentment and unwillingness they had suppressed finally erupted.
Dawn Cicada commented from the side, "They only dare to make a scene because Quex has a good temper. Who doesn’t prioritize their own race? If she didn’t help Dark Reef, that would be madness."
Rita turned off the battlefield chat, refusing to look at the accusations. She put away the shimmering cookie house on the roof and asked, "Are the player transfers on Lania Kaia done? If they are, I’ll pull Dawn into the River of Time and drag it over there."
The cookie situation wasn’t urgent. There were far more critical places than Dawn right now. If cookie houses didn’t only take one hour to produce cookies, Dawn wouldn’t even be a priority.
"They finished yesterday. You can act anytime."
With Dawn Cicada’s confirmation, Rita immediately left Dawn.
Standing outside Dawn’s world dock, Echoes of the Snowbound Realm, golden lightning, and a sea of white flowers formed three chains that shot into the world’s entrance.
Things were different now. All six vice-captains were aboard, and Rita’s own strength had grown significantly. It wasn’t just her attributes or the appearance of her Vine, but also her deeper understanding of her companion lightning and Flower Crown Murder gained from the demon games.
She barely exerted any effort. Her body didn’t even tilt as she pulled Dawn out of the invasion sequence.
A golden planet landed upon the River of Time. Golden mist, glowing faintly, coiled around it like a serpent.
Rita wrapped the chains around the stern of her ship. At her command, Cat’s Ideal surged forward toward Lania Kaia.
For Lania Kaia, everything felt surreal.
Yesterday, Dawn had launched a full-scale invasion. Those players were still waiting outside the major cities to be arranged.
Today, all of Dawn’s instances were uprooted, and before Wither even finished a meal, that ship had already dragged Dawn over and parked it beside Lania Kaia.
With a swing of the tail, the golden planet settled neatly next to the blue one. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Wither stood on the balcony with his hands behind his back, silently watching BS Rita treat Lania Kaia like a parking lot.
Was this just to let Dawn share the world skills of Lania Kaia and BS?
Bone Shade pointed at the two planets in the sky and whispered angrily, "Look at her!"
Nearby, Yin Ya and Yulu each held a cup of milk tea delivered by Wind Scythe, quietly watching Wither.
"...Yes, I see it," Wither replied. He even turned to Bone Shade and added thoughtfully, "You can speak louder. She can’t hear you."
Yin Ya added helpfully, "And she’s busy running all over Starsea. She doesn’t have time to come down and deal with you."
Bone Shade: "..."
They had once sought peace with BS precisely for a day like this, to share world skills. But now that it had actually happened, the undead felt conflicted.
Wither turned seriously, his cloak sweeping behind him in a clean arc.
"Where are you going?" Bone Shade called after him.
Wither raised a hand without turning back. "To make sure they’re well fed."
He couldn’t afford to offend either of them.
Before he had taken more than a few steps, countless silver threads appeared between the two planets. Soon after, all of Starsea heard the announcement:
[Battlefield Announcement: "BS" has applied to invade "Dawn." The invasion sequence has been connected. The invasion has begun.]
The announcement stunned leaders across Starsea.
BS... invading? Was the Adjudicator going to break her own principles?
But recalling Lania Kaia’s complaints from the day before, along with Dawn Cicada and BS Rita mentioning "migration," the sharper leaders quickly understood. This was a deal.
Dawn Cicada had severed Dawn in advance and handed the planet to BS Rita in exchange for Vineborne joining BS.
The moment this thought appeared, waves stirred in countless leaders’ minds.
So this was possible.
But just as quickly, the idea was dismissed.
Their worlds had too many beings. BS couldn’t accommodate them. BS Rita would neither tolerate the slaughter of BS citizens nor carry out massacres herself.
She didn’t reject killing entirely. Despite her busy schedule, she still regularly sent BS players to participate in wars across Starsea. But they always joined the defending side. It was a strange principle, almost laughable, yet it brought both frustration and reassurance.
She would not blindly stop killing before she had the means to change everything. That much was clear from how she had spent days saving lives without ever condemning any world or player from a position of moral superiority.
But she would not slaughter Dawn’s population.
Neither she nor BS would ever massacre another world as invaders.
Everyone understood this. It was an iron rule for BS Rita.
At this moment, BS players themselves were confused.
Invading Dawn? Us?
[BS Announcement: Players heading to Dawn should remain inside instances and wait quietly. Dawn players will not attack you. After leaving instances, do not attack Dawn players either. This is a diplomatic cooperation. Dawn will merge into BS once invasion progress advances.]
The announcement was broadcast three times.
Nivalis stood with her wings folded behind her back, nodding in approval. "My Rita really stands at the very peak of moral high ground."
Rita: "...Will it kill you to stay quiet?"
Nivalis: "I’m praising you!"
Rita grabbed the dragon and tossed her toward BS. "Go help Shadow.Q. If she doesn’t need you, go help Smoke Tune."
After watching Nivalis leave, Dawn Cicada asked, "You really don’t need me to speed up BS’s invasion progress?"
Even though Dawn could now share the world skills of BS Rita, BSMistblade, and Lania Kaia·Wither, she would feel more at ease if Dawn merged into BS sooner.
Rita frowned slightly and looked straight into Dawn Cicada’s eyes.
"How do you plan to speed it up?"
Dawn Cicada didn’t hesitate. "Have some players go into instances and die."
All emotion drained from Rita’s face in an instant.
"There’s no need. That kind of killing is unnecessary."
Dawn Cicada silently looked at her. She didn’t argue about what kind of killing was necessary.
Her thoughts drifted elsewhere, to the rumors about BS Rita that had spread across battlefields.
