This Spiritual Energy is Lethal!-Chapter 84 - 0 Secret Meeting
Chapter 84 -084 Secret Meeting
The aggressive and crude electronic music was unbearably loud as the bodyguard led Bader through the dance floor to a door marked “Staff Only.”
Bader pushed open the door and followed the staircase upward, where the blaring music slowly faded away. A red light split the staircase in two, where he stood was still the narrow, cramped bar staircase, but the area covered by the red light turned into a lavish staircase laid with purple sandalwood.
Bader knew it was an illusion. He composed himself and stepped into the red halo, his leather shoes creaking on the wooden stairs.
At the top of the staircase, a carved wooden door was ajar. Bader gently pushed it open to see a small room, less than twenty square meters, decorated with an ancient courtly flair of the Fei Huang Republic. Three women in sleeveless cheongsams sat at a square table.
These three women looked identical, distinguishable only by their red, blue, and black cheongsams. Their heads were covered with semi-transparent black veils, and each had a mole at the corner of her mouth. The cheongsams had enticing cutouts at the chest, and their three pairs of long, white, elegant legs were gracefully positioned together, each wearing high heels that matched the color of her cheongsam.
Bader quietly closed the door, stood silently in front of the square table, and bowed three times to the three women before pulling out a deck of playing cards from his coat.
...
He threw an ace onto the table, which slid for a moment and stopped in the center. The image on the card gradually vanished, transforming into a moving picture of a man rising from a pool of blood and killing an intruder with a dagger.
The corners of the women’s mouths slightly curled upwards.
Bader then tossed out a queen. The card showed an ancient Medieval kingdom on a cliff with a white cathedral. As the viewpoint zoomed in, a group of armed men cautiously advanced along the cliffside corridor.
The woman in the red cheongsam stretched out her pale arm and delicately applauded.
A jack slid onto the table, displaying a contract demon tearing open a portal to the West Gold Building, slaughtering members of the P.W.A.T. squad and CPA agents. Simultaneously, the figure of an Asian man flashed by…
One card after another was thrown, one image after another unveiled events that had occurred inside the West Gold Building and the Great Void opened by Si’s consortium—all within view.
Bader threw the last card, showing an image of an Asian woman with long hair, wearing sunglasses and riding a motorcycle across the interstate highway in the night.
“The actions of Si’s consortium are getting more aggressive,” the woman in the black cheongsam said coldly, her voice ethereal, like a long-dead demon.
“The ritual had some problems. The sacrifice didn’t die and looks rather delicious… heeheehee,” the woman in the red cheongsam covered her mouth with a giggling, her smile stretching to her ears, revealing a row of pearly white teeth.
“The woman is here too, I hope she doesn’t die before we find her,” the woman in the blue cheongsam extended a black tongue like a snake’s flicking her lips.
“You’ve done well, Yasla will reward you.”
The woman in black waved her hand, and Bader felt something heavy in his shirt pocket.
He quickly felt for it and pulled out a dark jade pendant.
“Keep it in a safe place. You can resurrect from where it is placed when you’re killed, but only once,” the woman in black said calmly.
Bader’s skin twitched… another curious artifact.
The source of this c𝓸ntent is freewebnøvel.coɱ.
If Holy Relics were weapons and equipment, then curious artifacts were miracles with indescribable powers! Even with his clearance at FPI, Bader couldn’t access even one artifact which were highly treasured by nations.
The deck of cards in Bader’s hand was also a curious artifact, its purpose was to receive retinal images and memories transmitted from somewhere, but Bader did not know who sent these items.
He quickly bowed deeply.
“Are you still looking for the whereabouts of the sacrifice?” the woman in the red cheongsam asked.
Bader nodded, and she seemed particularly fond of the sacrifice.
“I quite like him. I want to make him my pet, then play every night… Oh my, how shy… heehee,” the woman in red giggled behind her hand.
“As a human, you’re quite useful. Yasla will need your assistance in the future. But remember, don’t betray us, don’t deceive us, don’t expose us. Or else, death, death, death,” the woman in black waved her hand.
Bader bowed three times again and slowly backed out of the room with his waist bent and his face toward the ground.
When he looked up, there was no room—just a wall.
At 11 PM on Raffi Road residential area, rows of two-story standalone houses lined up along the road, under the moonlight, the white rooftops were particularly glaring.
Bader drove his Ford Mustang toward his home.
Midway, he stopped the car, thought for a moment, threw the jade pendant given by the woman in the black cheongsam onto the car, and pulled out his issued gun from its holster, checked the bullets, loaded, switched off the safety, and put it back in the holster.
He was about 500 meters from his home. Bader didn’t take the car keys, threw the Holy Relics diamond kept with him into the car’s storage locker, and walked toward his home.
His front door was ajar; someone had been there. He knew who.
Bader entered the room calmly, the interior pitch black and devoid of people. He smiled without turning on the light and slowly walked into the bedroom.
As soon as he entered the bedroom, the door slowly closed behind him, and three figures appeared behind him.
A skinny, blind old man in yellow Hanfu sat by the door. His body was as thin as a bamboo stick, but his stomach was disproportionately large. His eyes were placed at an awkward angle, making him look very strange.
A young girl from Sunrise Country, clad in a white kimono and with long black straight hair, floated silently in mid-air. She was as beautiful as a porcelain doll, but her expression was dull. She had two small black dots protruding from her forehead, her eyes were pupil-less and pitch-black, and her head trembled slightly at a constant frequency.
A muscular man with only one eye stood next to the television. His muscles were knotted into lumps, his bare arms as thick as an adult’s torso. The muscles on his back formed a demonic face, his expression cold.
“Do you know the consequences of betraying us?” the old man asked.
Bader sighed. He had already felt something in the air interfering with the functioning of the Spiritual Energy in his spine. This was why he hadn’t brought any Holy Relics. The blind old man seemed to have the ability to disrupt the use of Spiritual Energy by humans.
He reached inside his coat.
“Before you- pull out- the gun- you- will- die,” the girl said haltingly, accompanied by a strange buzzing sound.
“You disclosed our whereabouts to Yasla, causing us heavy losses. We cannot let you live,” the one-eyed muscular man said in a dull voice, like that of a cow.
Bader remained silent, knowing there was no room for negotiation. Without the jade pendant, he feared tonight might be his undoing. But he also had his doubts—was that jade pendant truly that miraculous?
“My daughter- also died- just last- night- by- Yasla- such a pity, I want- to use your- guts to- console my- daughter,” the girl in white buzzed.
“You should have known not to trust humans. This matter didn’t concern you. If you had just stayed our spy, you could have lived in peace,” the blind old man rubbed his eyes.
“This is the United Federation. I do what I want,” Bader sneered, unlocking his gun holster. An invisible thread immediately flew in, entangling his wrist.
“I told you- before you draw- you will die,” the girl in white laughed hoarsely, shooting out more threads to wrap Bader.
“You misunderstood; I wasn’t going to draw my gun.”
Bader smiled, aiming the gun at his own heart and pulling the trigger.
“Bang!”
A gunshot sounded.
The bullet spiraled into Bader’s body, piercing his heart.
His face contorted, and as everything went dark, he suddenly found himself in the driver’s seat of a Mustang.
“Darn, that’s fucking awesome!” Bader gasped for air, exclaiming in surprise.
He was still wearing the same clothes from before his death, and the gun was still in its holster. It seemed the jade pendant had backed up his entire being…
Looking at a house 500 meters away, he turned the key to start the car, immediately reversed, and then floored the gas pedal, heading north without ever looking back.
Now was not the time to hesitate!
While driving, Bader pondered over this bizarre era, where whoever could reach the extraordinary had the power to reshape history.
Whether it was Si’s consortium or Yasla, their desires ultimately converged.
Pankia, as the nominal chairman and supreme leader of the consortium, was actually controlled by someone behind the scenes. But their exploration of the Great Void was relentless and beginning to show results.
Yasla was all non-human… Would he become like them if he cooperated?
His thoughts churned relentlessly.
Back in Bader’s apartment, looking at threads all over the floor, the girl in white, the blind old man, and the muscular one-eyed man wore expressions of resentment. After Bader’s suicide, he had turned into black smoke and disappeared right before their eyes.
“This human- has found- a new support!” the girl in white said.
“He’s smart, but he won’t run for long. We’ll take care of him along with that woman,” the blind old man nodded.
The muscular one-eyed man said nothing, simply smashing the television into a hole.
The three transformed into black mist and dispersed.
