Chapter 923: Chapter 442 Miracle Blossoms_2

"Quack?"

The Stone Frog was taken aback for a moment, unperturbed that its strike had missed. It was just a protective shield, after all.

Without hesitation, it switched its "fire" and began bombarding the altar’s vicinity with red marbles.

"Boom boom boom..."

Amidst the successive blasts, the altar was directly shattered, and the Divine Pen above finally fell from the lampstand, soaring into the rising dust.

The Stone Frog focused its gaze and quickly spotted traces of the Divine Pen on the ground. Without delay, it spat out another red marble, aiming straight for the Divine Pen.

However, the anticipated scene where the Divine Pen would be engulfed in an explosion didn’t happen. The marble hit the Divine Pen but passed through as if it had struck something illusory, crashing into the wall behind and exploding in the distance. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

"Quack?"

The Stone Frog was stunned, an illusion?

"Meow! Lucky I arrived just in time!" a voice sounded from behind.

Turning its head, the Stone Frog saw a short-haired cat leaning against the wall by the door, panting heavily with its tongue out, none other than Cola who had dashed from the bottom of the tower.

After successfully preventing the Stone Frog from blowing up the Divine Pen, Cola looked displeased at the Stone Frog and scolded it, "Mu You said this pen is very important, why are you trying to wreck it?"

Upon hearing this, the Stone Frog huffed coldly, ignoring Cola, and turned to search again. It quickly found another brush in a different direction.

The Stone Frog, without a second thought, spat out another marble toward it.

Yet again, the outcome was the same as before, the marble passed through the brush and exploded against the backdrop.

Another illusion!

Immediately infuriated, the Stone Frog turned back and glared at Cola.

To its own surprise, Cola glared back indignantly, "Meow! Didn’t I just tell you? Without this pen, we’ll all get buried here. Can’t you understand cat talk?"

"Quack!"

But the Stone Frog huffed coldly, "Yet my master’s orders to me were to destroy the Divine Pen! My job is to follow orders, right?"

"Meow, that’s called blind loyalty, don’t you get it? Utterly stupid!" Cola expressed disbelief and hastily looked into the distance, creating more illusions.

In an instant, the dust cloud in the distance filled with countless replicated Divine Pens, so many that at least hundreds masked the real Divine Pen.

After setting up the illusions, Cola finally breathed a sigh of relief, sneering at the Stone Frog, "Give it up. With me, Cola here, I won’t let you succeed!"

"You’re courting death!" The Stone Frog glared coldly at Cola, its patience utterly eroded by consecutive interruptions. It opened its mouth wide, and immediately, five colorful marbles hurtled towards Cola.

Cola quickly jumped up, stepped on the wall, and executed two stunning mid-air dodges, perfectly evading all the marbles.

Upon landing, Cola couldn’t help but take pride in its smooth moves, looking at the Stone Frog and sneering, "Heh, haven’t you ever watched television? Studies show that a cat’s speed is seven times that of a frog. That means every move you make is like slow motion to me, you will never be able to hit—Meow!"

Before Cola could gloat further, the Stone Frog opened its mouth again, this time spitting out dozens of marbles that almost blocked all of Cola’s escape routes, converging on it from all directions.

Cola desperately tried to dodge, but the marbles were too dense. Despite its speed, it was still caught by the tailwind of one marble’s explosion after launching into the air, letting out a woeful cry as it was blasted away.

...

While the pets atop the tower fought fiercely for the Divine Pen, outside the Lighthouse, a battle between four massive beasts was still raging.

"Oooo..."

Caesar, wielding a hundred-meter-tall ancient tree like a baseball bat, swept the incoming Scorplion off to the side, sending it flying with a single swing.

As he watched the Scorplion hit the ground with a piteous wail, Caesar quickly turned and raised his hand towards the distant Lighthouse, summoning divine power.

As he did so, the Lighthouse’s slow fall accelerated once more, visibly sinking into the mire.

Unfortunately, before Caesar could maintain this action for long, the Grim Reaper represented by Lin Xue had already rushed over from behind. Leaping high, the Grim Reaper held the sickle over its head and chopped down.

Caesar’s eyelid twitched and he had to quickly abort his actions to evade the strike, leaping backward.

Turning around, Caesar frowned at the three giant creatures looming menacingly around him.

After an initial exchange of blows, he had sized up their strength: one five-star, one four-star, and one just over three-star, not quite reaching four, but wielding a Divine Artifact capable of harming him, making them troublesome opponents.

Despite that, these three combined were no match for him. The reason he appeared at a disadvantage was purely because he had to simultaneously focus on the Lighthouse’s descent.

Caesar was well aware that among all his present foes, the one in the Lighthouse was the real threat to him. Until the Divine Pen was firmly sealed, he could never fully commit to the fight.

Yet, it seemed as if his enemies had seen through his intentions. As soon as he controlled the Lighthouse to fall faster, they would – even at the risk of injury – stop him without hesitation.

The Sealing Ritual, which should have concluded in a minute, had been delayed so long, and even Caesar was growing impatient.

Fortunately, at that moment, the tower had fallen to its last ten levels. Just another minute or so, and the sealing would be complete!
