Timeless Hunter: Blood Of Old-Chapter 12: New Toys
He asked the system, ( There are unnamed levels within each grade, while monsters might be both common monsters.
One might still be innately stronger but not strong enough to count as an uncommon monster.)
He nodded, he supposed that made sense, he nocked an arrow then came out of hiding and shot it.
The goblins failed to react, the arrow pierced through goblin warrior’s head killing it instantly.
The others reacted but he was already shooting another arrow. They ran at him but they were slow.
Must slower than everything he had faced in these two days. He retreated slowly to open space while he kept shooting them down.
In only a few seconds half the goblins were dead including the two goblin warriors. The door to the office suddenly opened.
Out came a much larger goblin and one goblin carrying a wooden bow and arrows, he knew what they were without even using inspect.
The taller goblin was definitely a hobgoblin and the one with a bow was probably a goblin archer.
The goblin archer pulled it bow, he went into the room closest to him to hide and dodge it arrows, he peaked for a second and shot an arrow straight for the archer.
The hobgoblin cut the arrow in half with it sword. He used inspect on it.
Hobgoblin ( uncommon)
Level 7
Strength: 20
Agility:19
Perception:14
Endurance:14
Vitality:11
Will:9
Spirit: 2
It was a bit weaker than the imp warrior but still strong as well. He targeted it instead but it managed to cut down all of his arrows.
In the meantime he also took out the other goblins, of the original twelve, only four remained now but they were getting closer.
He knew he had to take out either the hobgoblin or the archer first. He used future sight then fired at arrow.
He shot another a split second later, as expected the hobgoblin swung it blade to cut down the first arrow.
It succeeded but failed to stop the other one which pierced through the archer’s head. The hobgoblin roared with rage but it roar did not go far.
It was drowned by the sound of the raging rain and howling winds. He came out of that room, he had no reason to hide now.
He pulled three arrows, the four goblins had gotten dangerously close. He retreated a bit faster while shooting them down.
At the same he shot more arrows at the hobgoblin to delay it. He succeeded but when only one goblin was left.
It threw it stone knife at him forcing him to dodge, that gave the hobgoblin the opportunity it needed.
Unfortunately for it, his combat experience had grown a little more, he knew how to utilise his abilities to the best of his ability.
The hobgoblin covered the 12 metres distance between them in a split second, he used futures sight.
His eyes shone with golden light, he saw it swung it sword for his head and it did just that.
He ducked backwards while pulling his bow, just as the blade passed above him he released the arrow.
It pierced through the hobgoblin’s neck but before it died it kicked him on the ribs. The force of it kick was not that great.
It was still enough to throw him against the wall but he had taken harder beatings so he got up instantly and killed the last goblin.
He picked up the hobgoblin’s sword and swung it around. It felt more natural in his hand than the axe.
He took it with him placing it on his hips. He went inside the office and what he found there was a gut ranching sight.
Or it would’ve been had he been capable of feeling anything. There were two women who looked like they’ve been violated by the goblins.
These women had dead stare eyes, it was uncanny. He used inspect on them and what he saw confused him.
Human homunculus ( common)
Level 1

" System, what the hell is this?" ( Homunculus, player, a human homunculus to be exact designed by the council for specific needs of monsters trapped in specific areas.)
" Explain, more clearly." ( Player is in a danger zone unsuitable for beginner players. When the apocalypse began, all humans were transported to safe zones with monsters suitable for their level to make the playing field more fair.
Stronger monsters were trapped inside invisible barriers to prevent them from killing weaker players.
However to satiate the needs of those monsters and prevent them from killing each other immediately the council created homunculi.
To fit the needs of the monsters, whether it’d be food or breeding. However the council underestimated the ferocity of the monsters in this zone, they ate almost all of the homunculi in a single day.)
Akaris was still stuck on the first thing, " What do you mean all humans were transported out, what the hell does that even mean?"
( It means they were teleported to safe zones with monsters suitable to their level) The system repeated.
" If that’s the case then how on Karon am I still here?" He asked with anger. ( ???? Unable to provide answer)
He grumbled, " Useless, this is really fucked up, you’re telling me all the corpses I saw were not human?"
( Affirmative.) He sighed, obviously something went wrong with his system, perhaps it was defective.
" What shitty luck." He stood up and went to the bookshelf on the wall. He now had a new goal, to leave this place.
If the monsters were trapped by an invisible barrier then he as a human should be able to leave right.
He pulled a specific book and the bookshelf moved. A spiralling staircaey opened up behind it and he went down.
The staircase was a bit long and dark but his eyes could easily see through the dark, especially when he poured mana into them.
He reached down stairs and saw them, weapons, lot and lot of weapons. There were swords, spears, axes etc.
He even saw a bow much more impressive than his and better arrows too. He took that bow and modified it.
He now had a new and better bow. Then he saw a sword. A black katana with a red edge like flames.
He couldn’t help but grin. " We going to have so much fun you and I."
