Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Oriana Earthmother

( Indomitable will has reached level 2, Indomitable will has reached level 3.)

He felt his mind clear, the constant humming on his ear stopped, he regained control over his body.

He remembered how to breath again but the fear did not disappear. He stood up and left the room.

He looked out the window and what he saw drove the stake of fear right through his heart again.

The monsters walked in a line like zombies, they walked straight into thick fog that floated above the ground and disappeared never to be seen.

He looked into the fog but saw nothing, even his hawk eyes couldn’t piece through the thick fog.

He used inspect instead.

Avatar of ??????

Level ???

That was all he saw, his inspect couldn’t see through whatever was lurking in the fog but he at least knew it was an avatar.

That meant there was a stronger true self somewhere in the abyss. He prayed to never ever meet it.

The way these monsters were acting terrified him, they were walking to their own deaths willingly.

He ran back inside and closed the door to the bedroom. He did not dare fall asleep and sat until morning.

The entire night he could hear the rustling of leafs as the monsters walked into their own deaths.

The humming returned at some point but it no longer effected his mind. The sun rose, the fog disappeared and so did the humming.

He immediately picked up his bow and quiver as well as his sword and he ran. The quiver was not full, it had actually created new arrows.

He ran deeper into the city, along the way he came a cross a few monsters which he ignored.

He didn’t have time to be fighting them, it was not like that would benefit him in any way.

---------------------------------------------------------

Somewhere near the city centre, a woman with long black hair and green eyes was standing on top of a tall building.

She stood on the edge of the building, behind her lay a corpse of a massive bird with wings that reflected light like metal.

Her eyes were focused on the centre of rather what stood there. A massive black tower as dark night rose hundreds of metres into the sky.

Standing Infront of it was a creature with grey skin and tattoos drawn over it skin, it was wearing clothes like those of a barbarian.

This was the guardian of the abyss anchor, the strongest creature in this city. She sighed and wondered how she was supposed to defeat that.

She has tried to fight it yesterday and was forced to retreat with her tail between her legs.

Awakening her bloodline gave her a massive boost in stats and the tiger soul not only have her the tiger claw skill but it can also increase her stats.

Unfortunately each beast soup can only enhance two stats and each level of beast soul increases the percentage boost by five percent.

Before facing that boss again she needed to find another suitable beast, unfortunately most didn’t meet her standards.

She turned around to leave then saw a shadow darting through the forest below heading for her building.

" He looks scared, this is great." She grinned and jumped off the building. She used the trees and vines to climb down like a cat.

Then she went and hid not far from the building.

----------------------------------------------------------

Akaris looked back as he ran believing the fog was chasing him but there was nothing behind him.

He saw a talk building that was relatively fine compared to others. He climbed on it side to the top floor.

He took a deep breath when he got inside and relaxed a bit then looked out the window.

He saw a massive black shadow of a tower standing tall above every other building around.

This was not part of the city before so he was certain it was the abyss anchor he needed to get a class.

He climbed on top of the building to get a clearer look but paused when he got there.

There was a corpse of a large bird with metallic wings. It body was laced with scratches.

It was obviously killed by a beast type monster but he wondered why it didn’t eat it and just leave it here.

He shook his head, that was not any of his business. He looked at the tower at the centre of the city.

Infront of it he saw a get skinned man dressed like a barbarian. He had two horns on his forehead.

Akaris used inspect immediately

?????????

That was all he saw, he felt as if his inspect had bounced off and reflected. Then he saw the man raised his head and look directly at him.

Akaris knew immediately this creature was extremely dangerous. A cold sensation went down his spine.

His high perception warning him of the threat. He went back to the room below to rest.

Took out a piece of meat he had saved and ate then fell asleep. If he was going to fight that thing.

He would need all the strength he had, he woke up when the sun was about to set.

He watched it fall beyond the horizon, tomorrow would be the day he gets his class.

Tonight he planned to train, he knocked an arrow and aimed at a distant monsters that was running through the trees.

He was about to release the arrow when he heard a growl like that of a tiger cub, it also heard a feminine quality like a woman.

He turned and saw a shadow pouncing on him and released the arrow, the shadow dodged mid air and landed on the ground.

It blurred towards him, he jumped to the side and shot two more arrows but neither were enhanced by mana.

Clang clang, they were deflected. The shadow stood up and faced him.

" Hello you piece of shit."

He smiled bitterly, "Nice to see you too Oriana"
