Timeless Hunter: Blood Of Old-Chapter 34: Boss Fight
The arrow pierced through the night sky like a ray of light. The ogre raised it head then grabbed the giant sword on it side.
With a single swing it cut the mana arrow in half. The arrow exploded sending a wave of energy in every direction.
The ogre merely took a single step back then looked directly at them. Akaris tried to use his inspect again but all he saw were question marks.
( Inspect has reached level 3.) He could feel inspect growing as he used it against this monster.
He realised using it against higher rank or grade things yields more experience for the skill.
Since they could no longer hide they both came out and faced the ogre. It was huge standing more than 2 metres tall with arms like logs.
Oriana took a deep breath and activated the tiger soul. A white tail with stripes grew on her back and white feline ears grew on her head.
Her fangs grew longer and sharper and her eyes turned into slits. A low growl escaped her lips.
Claws grew on her nails and she went down on all four. Akaris retreated and pulled two arrows from his quiver.
While they were weaker than his mana arrows they saved mana. For this opponent he figured he will need future sight.
Oriana pounced and he uses sight, he saw her claws collided with the giant sword and breaking.
The sword continued to graze her and sent her flying back. ’ One move, damn.’ he cursed and shot two mana infused arrows.
The future he saw unfolded but instead of the sword meeting her claws it collided with his arrows.
He aimed them directly at the tip of the blade forcing it to diverge to the side, she took that opportunity and pounced.
Her body rose to the sky and she swung her claws at it face. The ogre did not retreat, it face did not change.
It headed her, her claws met it forehead and the sound of metals scrapping metal echoed through the night sky.
She growled as the force pushed her five metres back, it didn’t give her a change to adjust and swung it giant sword at her.
It long arms gave it a long reach, the sword cut through the air like a blur drawing an arch through the darkness.
It was fast, but not faster than his mana arrows. Her soft bones allowed her to bend her body at an impossible angle.
The sword flew above her, before the ogre could pull it back two arrows pierced through it side.
Akaris couldn’t help but click his tongue, it muscles were so dense the arrows barely pierced through.
With a little flex of it muscles they fell off, a bit of blood fell of the wounds but ogre didn’t seem to notice.
He shot two more arrows which were followed by a mana arrow, the ogre swung it sword to deflect them.
The mana arrow reached it first, it giant sword passed right below the arrow catching the ogre off guard.
Akaris had calculated this after using future sight to predict the path of it sword. It’s also why he shot the two arrows first.
The arrow pierced through it chest, it staggered back and the two wood arrows pierced through it stomach.
Akaris grinned but the grin was immediately wiped off his face by what he saw next. The ogre’s chest squirmed like the muscles were alive.
They clasped around the mana arrow preventing it from going further in. The other two failed to pierce through it abs.
They broke and fell to the ground after leaving tiny marks on it stomach. The ogre looked at him with rageful eyes.
His instincts warned him of danger, the ground beneath it feet cracked and it lunged towards him.
Just at as it moved a punch landed on it face forcing it to skid fours metres back. It head reeled back like it was about to fall.
Akaris saw a massive woman around two metres tall facing the ogre, it was Oriana, she had grown larger.
Her hands had long black claws and fur that reached her elbows. Her arms had grown almost as thick as his thighs.
She looked like an Amazonian from fantasy, giant like a she bear yet beautiful as a fairy. She took a boxing stance and faced the ogre.
No words were exchanged between them, the ogre grinned and swung it sword at her, she responded with her dagger like claws.
Th collision sounded like a grenade going off, she was the one who was pushed back but not by far.
However Akaris knew she was still outclassed by far, the ogre was not only stronger physically.
In her current form, it was much faster than she was. As expected it followed with another attack faster than she can respond.
He shot an mana arrow at it eye forcing it to pull back it attack and deflect the arrow, strong as it was being blinded would greatly weaken it.
She took that opportunity to attack but before her attack could land it kicked her on the chest.
She flew back like a ragdoll and fell over 15 metres away. She coughed up blood and stood up.
Akaris cursed, he realised how weak he truly was at this moment. Even with the ability to see the future, his opponent was too fast and had high instinct.
Akaris could predict it next move but the ogre was able to adjust it actions fast enough.
The only arrows that are fast enough to give it a problem are mana arrows but even we’re not that fast to it.
He sighed, ’ Support, support, you’re an archer Akaris, your roleis support.’ once he accepted that he felt a weight lift off his mind.
Ideas came rushing in, he didn’t need to face thing alone, just take advantage of whatever opportunity Oriana create.
Oriana lunged at it again, her feet shook the ground as she ran, she covered the 15 metres distance in less than a second.
Her fist shook the air as she punched it face, it swing it sword to meet her. Akaris saw an opportunity and attacked.
His mana arrow pierced through it underarm, it attack faltered and her fist landed on it nose.
He grinned, ’ Since my arrows are made of mana, can’t I use my will to control them?’ that thought suddenly came to him.
