Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Dangerous Situation

The creature didn’t look like a normal scorpion, instead of claws it had two scythes and on it back were two tentacles.

It tail had a straight pointed stinger unlike the ones usually found in scorpions. The moment he saw it he used future sight.

He saw it shoot out the tip of it tail and impaling his heart. He rolled to the side and a second later it did that.

The stinger pierced through the concrete wall behind him drilling a hole there. He crawled around the corner and hid.

The scorpion climbed into the roof then stood at the age and kept shooting it stingers.

He peaked and used his inspect on it for a split second and that split second almost cost him his life.

A stinger shot right above his head and he ducked back not daring to show his head again.

However it was worth it because what he saw reaffirmed his decision to not fight this thing.

When he saw it stats he knew he couldn’t fight it. It was slow but it strength and endurance were way too much, to the point his inspect couldn’t even fully see them.

So was it vitality, endurance not only represented stamina but ones defensive capabilities as well.

With such a high endurance he doubted he would be able to even pierce through it outer shell with his arrows.

Fortunately it couldn’t jump so he was safe here. Just as he said that he felt something hit the building he was on.

He looked and saw it struggling and holding on to the edge of the building but it was pulling itself up with it scythes.

" Oh shit, you’ve got to be shitting me." He immediately stood up and ran. It pulled itself up by the time he jumped into the next building.

He landed and rolled on the wet roof, a spike hit the bulkhead next to him piercing through it concrete wall.

He didn’t stop and ran in zigzag dodging the spikes. He jumped into the next roof and it jumped as well.

He turned mid air and shot a mana empowered arrow at it. The arrow cut through the rain splitting the drops cleanly in two.

It speed and power was greater than any arrow he had ever shot before. Then it hit and what he probably should’ve expected happened.

The arrow bounced off it hard shell and was deflected to the side not even leaving a scratch. He crashed on the roof and jumped into his feet.

The scorpion wasn’t a good jumper, it was too large and too heavy. Almost as large as a small car.

He wondered how such a terrifying creature could be here so early, it seemed quite unfair.

It grabbed on the edge of the building and crawled up then ran towards the building he was standing on.

He ducked behind the bulkhead, even through the deafening sound of the rain he could hear it spikes destroying the concrete walls.

However even with their power they couldn’t pierce through both walls. He used the bulkhead as cover and ran to the next building.

Spikes flew around him but it couldn’t get a good aim. He had lost a few arrows too so he was only left with 12 in total.

He couldn’t afford to waste them on something he couldn’t even kill. Now his purpose was to escape this thing.

He planned to run to his school, there were a lot of bows and arrows there. Perhaps he could even make a better bow himself.

He realised when he used mana to strengthen his arms the bow felt lighter. He looked back and saw the scorpion still chasing him.

But he was running out of building roofs to run to, then he realised his stupidity, this thing was huge.

It couldn’t go inside the building, if he went inside it won’t be able to follow and whatever he found there won’t be more terrifying than this.

He jumped to the next roof, while in the air a spike grazed his thigh. Blood flew and the force threw him off.

He crashed on the side of the roof and tried to hold on but failed. He grabbed a metal pipe and slid down to the alley.

He searched around for danger but there was none. Then he looked for a place to hide and there was nothing.

He ran with his bleeding leg to the street, at least there there were cars. He thought about entering the nearest building.

However he saw monsters on the first floor, a lot of them. He knew he would be overpowered almost immediately.

Perhaps they were running away from the heavy rain because there were only a few monsters on the street. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

He turned and saw the scorpion on the roof, it was looking for him. Tracking him through the rain was not easy even with it high perception.

He hid behind a police car, the car was empty. It was as if it owner simply disappeared.

The doors were locked, there was no blood or shattered window. He looked at the street and realised another thing.

There weren’t as many corpses or blood as he expected to find. This city had over around 5 million people.

There was no way all of them died in the first two days, not to mention he didn’t hear a scream but then again he did see a few corpses.

He thought maybe the blood was washed away by the rain yet he still had a feeling something else was going on. He was about to ask the system when he saw a shadow through the rain.

Green eyes shone through the heavy rain and wind. His hawk eyes pierced through it and he saw what he was looking at.

It was a massive black wolf, the wolf was huge, standing almost as tall as he a fully grown woman.

On it spine ran long tiny spikes that vibrated with each growl. The wolf was soaked wet, it fur stood up like spikes and it walked towards him with slow steady steps of a hunter with it head lowered.

He used inspect on it. " Oh you’ve got to be shitting me."
