To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 175: A clear warning
"Did you think we would tolerate it just because he is your son?"
"Insolence," the president was very livid, his face burning red from rage. "That could’ve happened out of nowhere because he was drunk and couldn’t control himself."
"Oh yeah? Well, makes sense." Nari said, sounding like he had come to terms but then he snickered and said, "I had a few drinks myself. So I’m probably drunk and have no idea that I hurt someone." He laughed but this only made the president furious. "What? Did you think you could use alcohol as an excuse to hurt an innocent Omega? If so, then I can use that as an excuse to hurt an ’innocent’ Alpha, am I right?" He laughed once more but no one would laugh with him.
He turned to his uncle Baek, whose eyes were unreadable, and the twins behind him, who were waiting for their time to take action.
"But do you know? I was nearby and I pretty much heard your son saying something along the lines of, ’I’ll show you why an Alpha will always be above a useless Omega like you’ while he was spreading his Pheromones, and so I don’t think he’s all that innocent. I also wanted to show him how powerful Omegas such as myself took out the trash so it was a done deal."
As soon as everyone heard this, they were certain that the president’s son had caused it all. But they couldn’t openly rebuke him. He was the president, after all.
They were still weighing whether to side with the president or the Sun family when Woo-bin stepped forward, walking past everyone, and stood in their midst with his hands in his pocket. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"Is that true?" He asked and all eyes fell on him. "Did this guy on the floor really say my Hwa is a useless Omega?" He was smiling as he asked this question but the family that knew him best knew that this was his angry smile.
"Yes, it’s true, Samchon." He-Nari said and Woo-bin laughed.
"I never expected this," he said. "And on a Christmas night at that. I was just reminiscing on how lonely my Hwa sound. He was such an angel, don’t you think?" He asked, turning to the crowd and they nodded, also reminiscing on it with pink flushes on their cheeks. "He takes after me a lot. He’s so talented."
The president stared at him, confused. Where was he getting at? They were just talking about his son, weren’t they?
"I think he might be more talented than me," he added, his face gushing excitedly and Baek-Hyun turned around, putting a call across to the crew. "He’s so precious to me, really precious." He nodded. "He’s so precious to my family, and the rest of my family is also precious to me, but I’ll say it like I always say it to them; I love Hwa the most after my wife, but it’s regretful how he didn’t take that one talent from me." He turned to the president. "Go on, ask me what talent it is. You’re curious, right? Right?"
"What talent, Samchon?" He-Nari asked and Woo-bin smiled at him.
"It’s the act of taking out the trash." He said, his tone sounding murderous. "Maybe it’s because I picked up on this talent just after I got married, but I definitely know trash when I see one, and I don’t hesitate to pick them up, wherever they’re from."
He beaconed on a waiter who was just standing there and took the bottle on his tray.
"And would you look at that?" His smile turned into a grin. "There’s trash on the floor right now."
With that, he smashed the bottle on the already unconscious president’s son’s head, leaving the president with his mouth wide open in shock. This shocked everyone else on the ship but they took this as a warning.
A clear warning.
Never touch my family.
"But I’m glad he has his big brothers to look after him, right, Nari?" He asked and Nari nodded.
"I definitely wouldn’t let a piece of trash go once I see ’em." Nari said, stretching his arms and Ga-ram sighed. Guess he took after his father more than he took after him.
The looks were from him but that rough tendency... It was definitely from Tae-won. He still remembered how he got into a gunfight with Woo-bin’s father.
Things were hectic back then. But now, Nari would never believe his father was someone like that because he had given up his violence to focus on his job and his family.
A family man shouldn’t be getting involved in such squabbles every now and then.
But Woo-bin somehow picked up on that violence afterward. Their whole family circle was a mess at this point.
"How... How could you do something like this?" To my son." The president demanded, still in shock after what he just witnessed.
"You’re acting like I stabbed him. He simply faced the consequences of his actions. Now, take him away while he’s still breathing. I can’t be responsible for your son’s death if it’s you who delayed treating him." Woo-bin said and stepped back. "I’m going to go see if my baby is doing fine."
"Mister President," Baek-Hyun called as soon as he got off his phone call. "I’ve prepared a boat for you and your son to return safely to land. Have a nice evening." He said, his eyes cold and his tongue laced with viper.
Just went eh president was still recovering from his words, Tae-won spoke up.
"Plus, the Sun and Young family plan to retain our votes this new year." He said, flicking his finger. "I think you’ve reigned incompetently long enough."
His eyes widened, going bloodshot almost immediately.
"What?!" The words could barely slip out of his mouth. That was how shocked he was and his body trembled.
The words started to zoom into him all of a sudden.
The Sun and Young family were the biggest contributors to the family in terms of finance and entertainment. They had a say in most of the nation’s affairs even though they did not dive deep into politics.
Just having their votes was enough to secure the position one dreamed of holding in the parliament.
So, if they withdrew their vote then it was over for the president. The oncoming election in a year would definitely not be in his favor.
So, what could he do to make it up to them?
Forget his son. Forget his pride. If he could get them to change their minds... Sometime in the future, he would definitely get a chance to get back at them.
Yes, revenge after gaining power was better but as he raised his head to bargain, he froze. His words wouldn’t come out, and his body wouldn’t move either. The only things that were moving were his quivering lips and his eyes that wouldn’t stop shaking.
Their eyes were so cold and so dangerous glaring at him. Every one of them held this gaze that made it impossible for him to approach them.
It was as if they were screaming out with their eyes, ’You’re done for.’
It was a simple message. They put him on that seat so it wouldn’t be difficult for them to take him out as well.
The president almost broke down but he couldn’t lose his mind. He was still the president. He still held power in the country so he could do his best to push them into a corner and get them to renounce their words.
For a moment, he forgot they were also the ones in charge of commerce and were ruling the markets.
With just one word from Tae-won and Baek-Hyun, the market would seize to operate and the country would turn upside down.
They were that powerful. They just chose to live a simple life in a public estate where their kids grew up.
If they wanted, they could build an estate of their own and be the only ones living there but what good would that do to the economy?
They were already comfortable, so they listened to their wives, who told them being comfortable was better than spending unnecessarily.
Yet, when it was indeed time to spend in order to crush their enemies or get what they wanted, they did not hold back.
"Now, now," Hae-won clapped his hands together. "The evening is still long. It’s too bad such an incident disrupted things, but let’s just forget such a thing ever happened, okay?" He asked with a warm smile.
The cleaners came forward to clean up the broken pieces of glass and change the tablecloth that had been soaked in wine and blood.
Dong-cha, Seoung-bo, and Beom-Chim finally understood what Yun-tae meant. They would never know to what extent his family would go for Chin-hwa.
They had seen it now, and it was so thrilling since they weren’t the ones on the receiving end. But even then, it felt like a live-action movie.
So, this was how the world of the rich worked.
They felt so happy that they were able to witness that drama in person.
