Chapter 192: Daddy, are you crying?

The next morning, Chin-hwa and Kang-woo heard a very shocking news.

"What?!" They both exclaimed, shocked. "Did you just say marriage?"

Parents from both sides were in their living room and discussing when to hold the ceremony, if next week was okay, or the week after. It was best to do it as quickly as possible before Chin-hwa started getting heavy.

They wouldn’t want to stress their poor boy.

"Wait, isn’t ... Isn’t this too fast?" Chin-hwa asked, but Hae-won walked up to him and then hugged him.

"It’s fine." He said. "I mean, it’s best to start now than later after the baby is born."

"But..." Chin-hwa glanced at Kang-woo, who was equally dumbstruck.

Marriage was a big topic. To think they would treat it that lightly.

"What’s with that look on your face?" Woo-bin asked, his expression sour as he faced Kang-woo. "Don’t you want to marry our Hwa? You already marked him, so you should’ve at least known that this would be the outcome. And you even got him pregnant." He clicked his tongue. "You should be rejoicing right now, not having that sour look on your face."

The words stabbed at Kang-woo’s heart, and he pursed his lips, looking down.

He felt like he had gotten more than he deserved. Would he be a capable parent? Would he be able to give Chin-hwa the life he wanted?

Those were the thoughts that ran through his head.

"Hey, don’t give my boy a hard time." Tae-won finally spoke up. "It’s not like getting married and being a father was what he wanted at this point in his life. In my opinion, he’s doing his best, and taking it better than most would."

He wrapped his arm around Kang-woo’s shoulder and pulled him closer.

"Don’t worry, you’ll be a great father. And if you get lost, you have so many people to ask. You’re not alone." Kang-woo heard this and nodded.

Hae-won brushed his hand through Woo-bin’s hair and laughed.

"Did you finally get the words out of your heart?" He asked. "Do you feel better now? It’s not like Hwa will leave for a far-away land. He’s right here with us."

Woo-bin still didn’t feel better. He felt shitty insides like someone was molding clay with the walls of his heart.

"Hwa," he hugged Chin-hwa. "You didn’t have to go through this." He said, and Chin-hwa patted his father’s back.

"It’s alright, Daddy. I want this. I... Want to have this baby, and I want to get married to Kang-woo. I want to be his wife."

Woo-bin gritted his teeth but soon let it go, squeezing his son in his arms.

"Alright, Hwa. Alright. I’ll listen to you. I’ll..."

"Daddy, are you crying?" Chin-hwa asked, surprised.

"No," he said, but it sounded like he was crying.

Seriously, no one was taking Chin-hwa from him. This reaction was just too much.

Woo-bin did say he would rather have Chin-hwa stay at home forever when he was still five years old, but then they all started noticing his feelings for Kang-woo, and then they knew that it was impossible to keep him at home forever.

Not when Kang-woo has already stolen his heart.

"I’m not crying." Kang-woo said, holding Chin-hwa tight, and they all watched him, thinking he was rather silly.

Then, the doorbell rang, and Kang-woo looked up, wondering who it could be.

"I’ll answer the door." He said and went to check who was at the door.

It was Yun-tae and Myung-woo.

Why were they here? They didn’t call about coming over.

Chin-hwa had asked Kang-woo to keep it a secret and planned to tell the rest of their friends at a later date.

But now Yun-tae and Myung-woo were here. They would probably hear of the news.

Yun-tae peered into the living room and saw everyone gathered.

He whispered to Myung-woo,

"Do you think we came at a bad time?"

Myung-woo laughed and whispered back, leaning to talk more closer to his ear,

"As long as they’re all smiling, I think it’s a great time."

They walked in after Kang-woo invited them in, and Hae-won turned to Yun-tae.

"Dear Yun, come closer." He said, signalling him closer, and Yun-tae walked closer, slightly bowing his head at his elders.

It was rather awkward.

"Annyeong," he greeted.

"I think Yun-tae will do fine as the bridesmaid. What do you think?" Hae-won asked, and Lee Ga-ram nodded.

"I think so too. I mean, they’re the closest, right?"

They began to chatter, but Yun-tae was confused.

Bridesmaid? Who was getting married?

Yun-tae looked at Chin-hwa, who smiled awkwardly and mouthed a ’sorry’ as if he had dragged him into this, and Yun-tae blinked, a sudden realization hitting him.

"Wait, you’re getting married?" He asked, a bit too loudly, and then covered his mouth. How could he scream so rudely in front of all of them?

It was just an observation. They hadn’t even confirmed if he was the one getting married.

"Haha, the kiddo is so smart." Woo-bin said.

"Wait, really?" Yun-tae asked, and Chin-hwa walked towards him. "How come? All of a sudden?"

"Well," Chin-hwa licked his lips a bit nervously and then signaled Yun-tae to bring his head down a bit. He did, and Chin-hwa whispered, "It’s because I’m pregnant."

Yun-tae’s eyes widened in shock, and once again, he was going to exclaim loudly, but he felt faint and fell back into Myung-woo’s arms.

"I think I’m not in the right condition to hear the rest of the tale." He said, "Ah, this is too much."

Chin-hwa wasn’t just getting married but was also pregnant?

When did all this happen?

He glanced at Chin-hwa’s belly, but he couldn’t notice anything.

"It’s still too early to see the bump through his clothes," Hae-won said to him. "But I’m certain it’ll start showing in a month or two since he’s over three months old."

"Three months?" Yun-tae muttered softly and counted with his fingers. "Ah,"

He realized it was because of the heat they shared.

He looked towards Kang-woo and then gulped. This was big. No, it was huge. How were they going to live their lives from this point on?
