Together Apart: Her White Moonlight Has Returned Too-Chapter 163: They’re Both Unrelated to Me
The man’s voice was clearly altered, Vera Yves couldn’t tell who it was, but she could be sure that it was someone she definitely knew, otherwise he wouldn’t put so much effort into changing his voice.
Vera Yves tried to stay calm, she didn’t know how long she had been unconscious, nor whether Yates Abbott had noticed she was missing. Even if he did, when would he be able to find her here?
She could only rely on herself now.
"My hands are hurting from being tied, can you help me untie them?"
Upon hearing Vera’s calm voice, the man was clearly surprised, "You’re not afraid?"
"Of course I’m afraid." Vera turned her gaze toward the man’s direction based on feeling, "Would you let me go just because I’m afraid?"
"Of course not." The man stroked her cheek.
Vera resisted the urge to flinch away, "My wrists really hurt."
The man suddenly asked, "Is this how you also act coy with Miles Monroe?"
Vera’s eyes shifted, this person not only knew her, but also knew her relationship with Miles Monroe.
"I haven’t had a relationship with him for a long time."
"Really?" The man pinched her chin, making her raise her head, "Who are you with now? With Winston Valentine? I really couldn’t tell, you’re quite impressive!"
"Who exactly are you?"
The man didn’t answer her question, instead he slowly said, "I’m quite curious, if I deal with you and make it known all over Imperia, who among them would still want you?"
"I have nothing to do with either of them." Vera regained her composure, "If you want to use me to get revenge on either of them, I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed."
"Nothing to do with them?" The man’s hand tightened, seeing Vera’s face scrunch up in pain, he gritted his teeth, "What a ’nothing to do with them’! I’ve become like this all because of you! You now want to claim no connection?"
The man released his grip, Vera took a breath.
She asked herself if she had ever harmed anyone, but her connection with Miles Monroe probably only involved The Shaw Family.
This person had to be Luke Shaw, but she knew that if she said it now, it would lead to a dead end.
The man walked out of the room.
Vera’s arms were sore, she leaned against the headboard, her hands constantly twisting, but unfortunately, the rope was tied too securely, there was no way to untie it.
Soon footsteps sounded again, this time it was more than one person.
"Help me record a video later, remember to capture her face clearly."
"No problem, but after you’re done..." The man gave a lewd laugh.
"Suit yourself."
Feeling someone closing in, Vera backed away.
"What’s there to hide from? Do you think you have anywhere to hide?" The man yanked her over, reaching out to touch Vera’s lips, "Do you think you can still escape? Stop struggling for a bit, and you’ll suffer less!"
Suddenly, Vera opened her mouth and bit down hard on his finger.
The man screamed in pain, grabbing her hair tightly, Vera refused to let go of his finger, with the intention of biting it off.
"What are you doing standing there? Pull her off me!"
The man next to him finally reacted, stepped forward to help, and finally pulled Vera away.
Her scalp felt like it was being torn off, Vera’s face twisted in pain.
"Trying to buy time? Who do you think would come to save you now?"
Vera worked hard to keep herself calm, "I don’t even know where I am, how could I expect anyone to come save me?"
The man reached out to unbutton her shirt, instructing the person behind him, "Zoom in a little with the camera!"
Vera stopped struggling, only calmly said, "Could you untie the rope on my hands, I’ll undress myself."
"Already giving in so quickly?"
"With so many of you here, I couldn’t escape even if I tried, why waste the effort?"
The man leaned in to unbind the rope on Vera’s hands, giving her hands freedom.
"Go ahead." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
The man stayed by her side, eyes greedily glued to her body.
Vera’s hands trembled as she removed the knit top from her upper body; underneath, she was wearing a white, strapless camisole.
"Keep going!"
Vera placed her hands below the camisole, "Could you also help untie the rope on my feet?"
"Vera, do you think I’m stupid?" The man approached, clamping her neck, pressing her against the bed board, "I’m not in the mood to play your games!"
The man’s hands began to misbehave, Vera suppressed her nausea, pretending to cooperate. Just when he lowered his guard, she suddenly lifted both legs and kicked hard at his lower body.
The man let out a miserable scream, tumbling off the bed.
"Vera, you have a death wish!"
The man clutched his lower body, expression pained, while the man holding the phone saw this, knowing that he wouldn’t recover quickly, couldn’t help but say, "Why don’t I go first, I guarantee I’ll fix her up properly!"
"I haven’t touched her yet, and you think it’s your turn?"
Someone outside suddenly said, "There’s some noise outside!"
The room’s light dimmed instantly.
The man instructed, "I’ll go check outside, tie her up for me first, this time make sure it’s tight!"
When the room regained its silence, the man holding the phone walked over, he used the phone to shine on Vera’s face, "Let me kiss you, I promise not to tie you too tight."
Vera turned her head away, the man gripped her chin, "You really don’t know what’s good for you!"
Vera’s eyes shifted slightly, calmly she said, "How much is he paying you? If you let me go, I can give you ten times that amount!"
"What bold claims."
"Did you do any research before kidnapping me? How much could he be paying you? A million, two million?" Vera deliberately spoke with disdain, "Not even worth as much as one of my bags."
The man’s hand paused slightly, "Do you think I’m stupid? If I let you go now, I won’t get a penny!"
Vera suddenly hugged his neck.
The man hesitated, feeling tempted, "If only you were like this sooner..."
Vera found the pressure point, fiercely stabbing it, the man instantly fainted.
Vera pushed him onto a side bed, then removed the cloth strip from her eyes, untied the rope on her feet, and tied up the man.
The sound of footsteps echoed outside, Vera held her breath, quickly hiding behind the door.
Someone walked in, "Have you tied her up yet?"
The flashlight beam illuminated the bed, Vera took the opportunity to shove the person hard, then quickly ran outside, just reaching the door.
A cold gun barrel pressed against her head, "Vera, you really have a death wish!"
Under the night sky, Luke Shaw removed the mask from his face, no longer pretending, angrily glaring at her, "Run! Keep running!"
He had found such a concealed location, but didn’t expect someone to come looking so soon, he was inevitably caught! Even if he escaped, then what? The Shaw Family had fallen, and he was just a stray dog now!
Vera raised both hands, "Don’t be impulsive."
Luke Shaw dragged her to his side, pressing the gun against her temple, "Vera, you really don’t know what’s good for you! Originally, I only intended to have my way with you, now you’re asking for it yourself!"
"Luke Shaw, back then your Shaw Family harmed my grandfather, what’s happening now is your family’s retribution! On what grounds do you seek revenge against me?"
"On what grounds?" Luke Shaw retorted viciously, "Those pieces of evidence were all collected by Miles Monroe for you! He went all out against The Shaw Family for your sake! And Winston Valentine, he also took advantage of our downfall for your sake! Not allowing anyone to help The Shaw Family, even no lawyer dared to take our family’s case!"
"You’re a curse! If it weren’t for you, how could I become so wretched?" Luke Shaw spoke more and more agitatedly, suddenly pulling the trigger.
Vera trembled all over in fright.
"I see you can get scared!" Luke Shaw whispered close to her ear, "Someone’s coming, let me guess who has come to rescue you."
