Training-Addicted Mage In A Progression Fantasy-Chapter 19: Regular Exchange Festival (1)
Chapter 19: Regular Exchange Festival (1)
After reaching 3rd Grade, Leon felt a definite increase in probability over the course of four months while receiving rewards.
Out of every 10 rewards, roughly 3-4 were E-Grade, and 1 was D-Grade.
After becoming able to consistently create F-Grade Elixirs, Leon fixed his rewards to Magic Books.
The reason he started focusing on Magic Books was to obtain high-level magic for when he eventually became an Arcane-level Mage.
Arcane level was a realm that could only be reached by a Mage with a Triple Attribute Body after consistently training for over 20 years.
However, Leon felt it was already late to start preparing now.At this rate, he would reach Arcane level within 1-2 years, but he didn’t have any high-level magic prepared. At best, he only had the “Moonlight Scattering Sword” obtained from the forbidden library, and even that was incomplete.
This situation arose because even Leon himself couldn’t predict how quickly his realm was advancing.
Moreover, since Leon had talent for all attributes, he needed to learn magic for each attribute.
If he was really lucky, he might obtain multi-attribute magic created by a high-level Mage, but the probability of that was obviously very low.
The first thing he felt when drawing a Magic Book was that, similar to drawing Attribute Bodies, it was useless if it didn’t give what was needed.
He had received 30 Magic Book rewards recently.Among them, 2 were D-Grade Magic Books.D-Grade was the highest level of magic that could be learned as an Apprentice, but they all overlapped with Arpina Basic Magic in terms of attributes. This meant there was no need to learn them. For fire, water, wind, and earth attribute magic, Arpina Basic Magic was sufficient at the Apprentice level.
Among the rewards he had received so far, there were a few useful ones.
A “One-time Emergency Designated Teleport Scroll (B-)” that he drew when he was stabilizing his realm after reaching 3rd Grade and briefly equipping Artifacts.
It had the highest grade among those drawn so far, and Leon liked it because it could help him escape dangerous situations. If he could remember a specific place in detail in his mind, he could instantly move anywhere. However, it only worked for himself.
Besides that, a “One-time Underwater Prison Scroll (D-)” and a “Stationary Stealth Cloak (D+)” Artifact were the ones with relatively high grades.
The Stationary Stealth Cloak was a short black cloak that could be hidden and worn inside a robe. When infused with Magic Power, it was an Artifact that could conceal one’s appearance and presence by blending with the surroundings for 1 hour. However, once stealth was activated, one couldn’t move.Moving would break the stealth. After one use, it couldn’t be used again for a day.
From Elixirs, he drew a Concentrated Essence (D+).He was carefully storing the Concentrated Essence with the intention of consuming it after separately raising his Magic Quality to D-Grade.
He was also saving 20 E-Grade Essences and 5 D-Grade Essences to consume when he reached 4th Grade.
Dozens of F-Grade and E-Grade rewards had accumulated.
Even considering the Elixirs he was consistently consuming and the Magic Books that were as good as thrown away if he didn’t like them, rewards were gradually piling up.Especially the one-time scrolls were just accumulating without being used, probably because he hadn’t experienced any battles.
Soon the Spatial Pocket will be full.
Of course, he was already putting the Magic Books inside the Magic Orb.At this rate, it was clear that unused rewards would pile up like mountains in the space inside the Magic Orb as time passed.
Hoping for other functions to appear when I raise my realm...... would be too shameless, right?
He needed to think about how to handle useless rewards.
I could give them to someone, but......
If Leon were a Mage with numerous disciples, it could be a very good method, but at Leon’s current level, that was still a distant possibility.

Leon began training in earnest for realm ascension.
The accumulated Magic Orb time so far was 640 hours. That was about 27 days he could spend inside the Magic Orb.
Leon repeated a cycle of training for 20 hours inside the Magic Orb, coming out to the real world to satisfy hunger and get minimal sleep, then going back into the Magic Orb.
Before a week had passed in the real world, Leon ascended to Apprentice 4th Grade.
[Progression Assistant]• Information▶ Name: Leon▶ Grade: Apprentice 4th Grade▶ Magic Quality: E+▶ Attribute Constitution: Full-Attribute Body (Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Wood, Lightning, Light, Darkness)[Progression Assistant]▶ Reward probability has increased due to realm ascension.▶ Provided 400 hours of Space-Time Orb use.▶ Please select an additional realm ascension reward.▶ Artifact (C+ Grade Mobile Stealth Cloak) / Magic Book (C+ Grade Lightning Magic "Laidra Series: Glory's Thunder")There were no additional functions.
Leon’s gaze immediately turned to the additional rewards. The first thing that caught his eye was “Glory’s Thunder.”
C+ Grade meant it was a high grade among magic that could be used up to Arcane level, and it even had a unique magic name attached.
It was exactly the kind of Magic Book that Leon, who still didn’t have any high-level magic, needed.
The Mobile Stealth Cloak was clearly a superior Artifact to the Stationary Stealth Cloak just from its name. While it would be very useful in dangerous situations, Leon chose the Magic Book.He urgently needed an Arcane-level Magic Book right now.
A Magic Book with a purple cover fell onto his palm.

Come to think of it...... this name sounds familiar.
Laidra?
Feeling like he had heard it somewhere before, Leon tried to recall.Recalling wasn’t difficult. He hadn’t been anywhere except the Training Room.
And soon, Leon remembered where he had heard that name.
Isn’t that the name of the Tower Master of Widia?
A name he had heard in passing. No matter how much Leon was cooped up in the Training Room, there was no way he hadn’t heard the name of the highest authority in the city where he lived.
I heard he’s in seclusion to raise his realm.
A person who neglected even the affairs of the city he managed and was solely focused on training, unable to enter the latter stages of Insight. But the fact that he had entered the Insight realm itself meant his talent was guaranteed.
There was no way such a Mage only dealt with lightning magic.
Is this magic he created when he was at a lower realm?
After thinking that far, Leon put the Magic Book into the storage he had roughly made inside the Magic Orb.
Then, after confirming that he received an E-Grade ordinary reward for completing a general Quest, Leon resumed his posture.
After stabilizing his realm for a week and mastering Arpina Basic Magic that had reached 4 stars, Leon came out of the Training Room. Now Leon could summon all four elemental creatures of fire, water, wind, and earth.Until he reached 5 stars and learned how to harmonize them, summoning all four creatures at once would consume an enormous amount of Magic Power, but Leon, who had been consuming Elixirs like food, could handle it sufficiently.
When Leon came down to the first floor, he found Peter running around urgently at the entrance.
That person always looks busy.
Peter, pushing up his slipping glasses, looked around and upon spotting Leon, immediately ran over.
“I’m glad I found you! Urgent news!”“...What is it?”“There’s going to be a regular Exchange Festival between schools in Trifenia!”“Exchange Festival?”“Ah, this must be your first time hearing about it. It’s a day when various schools gather to determine rankings through sparring. It’s between representative students from academies or personal disciples of professors, and we’re going to follow along!”
Leon frowned as soon as he heard this, but quickly managed his expression.Having to watch others spar when he was busy training wasn’t something to be so happy about. Moreover, he only had 9 months left to focus solely on training.
“Aren’t you excited to see magic battles up close?”
Would he say such things if a black spear and chains were rushing towards his head?Leon grumbled inwardly for a moment before stopping himself.
“Do we have to participate?”“Of course! Wouldn’t it be strange not to go? I heard it’s like a festival for students? It’s a rare opportunity for us.”
Is there no one who doesn’t welcome festivals?Wondering if there was a way to avoid it, Leon asked about his curiosity, but Peter shook his head.
“I don’t think so? Ah, maybe the higher-ups might dislike it. I heard the results of the regular Exchange Festival are tied to the interests of the schools.”“What kind of interests?”“I’m not sure about that. I just overheard it in passing...... Haha.”
Leon’s face visibly darkened.

Before departing for Trifenia, Leon decided to make thorough preparations.
For Leon, who knew that powercreep was a rampant phenomenon, heading to a new place was no different from walking into danger. He didn’t know when or where a strong person might appear.
Since they were leaving the very next day, he couldn’t master Glory’s Thunder. But there were many other ways Leon could prepare for danger.
He packed scrolls and Artifacts that could immediately respond to danger into his Spatial Pocket.
He stuffed nearly 30 one-time scrolls in bulk into the Spatial Pocket.
For Artifacts, he only put the D+ Grade Guardian Golem Summoning Flute and the Old Tree Staff into the Spatial Pocket, while keeping the Shield Token, Stationary Stealth Cloak, and Low-grade Magic Power Increase Ring on his body for immediate use.
The Shield Token, when appraised with Appraisal Magic, turned out to be an E-Grade Artifact.
When the activation word was spoken, it immediately created a shield barrier to protect the caster.Unlike its E-Grade, it could block even stronger magic, but the number of uses was limited, and once used, it had a long cooldown time.
It seemed like it might have a + grade attached that couldn’t be detected by Appraisal Magic. In its current state, it looked like it could be used about 2-3 more times.
This should be enough to deal with an early Arcane-level Mage.
On the day of departure for Trifenia.
Leon gathered with the regular disciples and Robert, who was leading them, in front of the huge platform prepared next to the central Magic Tower.
On the platform, a giant sailing ship was sitting on the ground. It was a ship that could float in the air, called a Sky Sailing Ship.
In front of it, a large crowd had gathered, seemingly including most of the Mages in this city.
It was quite easy to distinguish the people.Just like Leon was wearing regular disciple attire, academy students were wearing magic robes with similar patterns but different colors. The colors indicated their year.
Others wearing various outfits could be considered established Mages.
Soon, numerous people started boarding the ship. The ship was large enough to accommodate all those people.
Leon and the other regular disciples boarded the ship last.
“Wow... I wonder if we can become academy students too.”
Leon heard Aaron muttering absentmindedly beside him. Some academy students snickered as they looked at Aaron, who was gaping and looking around.
“Are they coming along too?”“They must be here for some kind of field trip.”“If you could understand just by looking, I’d already be an Arcane-level Mage.”“Hehe, they can hear you.”
Leon ignored this and surveyed the ship, just like Aaron.
However, his reason wasn’t the same as Aaron’s.
The academy could be entered at 20 years old, when one became an adult. If someone had talent and became a personal disciple from a young age, training systematically, there might already be Arcane-level students, but if not, they would be at a similar realm to Leon.Unless they were Arcane-level, the systematic magic taught there wouldn’t be much different from Arpina magic, so Leon had no reason to be interested.
Leon searched for a place on the ship where people would be least likely to pay attention.
There’s none......
No matter how secluded, there was no space on the deck that could completely escape people’s sight.
Judging by how regular disciples are treated, they’ll likely put us all in one place to sleep too.
He had to give up on the idea of training while on the ship.Leon’s lips protruded in a pout.
The ship swam through the sky non-stop for 5 days.Except for briefly greeting Ria and Rowen whom he met in between, Leon stayed cooped up in his room, constantly doing Mana Refinement.
It wasn’t training that progressed Quests, but it was the only training Leon could do without attracting attention while pretending to be an ordinary person.
If I were in the latter stages of Arcane, I wouldn’t have to be so cautious anymore.
A realm where he couldn’t be casually messed with even if it was revealed that his attributes had changed. If there was a way for a Single Attribute Body to change into a Full-Attribute Body, who knows what Mages stuck at a wall would do.
If thinking about absolute safety, he should probably reach Mystic level, but considering the rewards that would accumulate by then, it seemed he could protect himself at Arcane level.
Leon calmly regulated his breathing while thinking about that time.
Another day passed and the ship stopped. They had arrived at Trifenia.
Trifenia was a huge magic city that gave off a similar feeling to Widia.
True to the name of festival that Peter had mentioned, every corner of the city was filled with crowds.
“You have free time until the Exchange Festival tomorrow, but given that many Mages have gathered, don’t do anything that might threaten your safety. Especially you guys. You understand, right?”
Robert earnestly cautioned in front of the lodgings. He had good reason to.If someone acted recklessly thinking it was just a festival, they might be dealt with quietly by a high-level Mage.
While security would be stricter than usual, it was better to be careful.
Leon, having gained free time, walked where his feet led him and arrived at the central market.
“Does anyone need a bundle of barrier scrolls? Can exchange for other scrolls or Artifacts!”“This isn’t an opportunity that comes every day! A chain Artifact that automatically binds the opponent’s body for just 80 Mana Stones!”
The sight of various Mages mingling and exchanging items piqued Leon’s interest.
Leon thought about whether he had any items to put up for exchange.
Elixirs? Scrolls? Herbs?
He didn’t have Mana Stones, but he had many items for bartering.
Should I take this chance to get rid of all the low-grade items and stock up on Mana Stones?
Having made up his mind, Leon went to a secluded spot, carefully checked his surroundings, then changed into a different robe from inside his Magic Orb and came out.It would be impossible to dispose of items in bulk as a regular disciple of Widia.
