Transferred to Another World and Became a Teacher-Chapter 115 - A Sudden Declaration of Duel
Rox and Felter, with their untimely words, had abruptly transformed the amicable atmosphere into one of tension.
Ramsay, his back slightly hunched and bearing a stern expression, glared at me. Despite wearing light armor made primarily of leather, his muscular physique was clearly visible.
He looked like a pro wrestler, I thought to myself, as I met Ramsay's gaze.
"......Is something the matter?"
I inquired.
Ramsay crossed his arms and gave me a dubious look.
"No, I just couldn't believe it. I apologize, but if you were disguising your appearance and pretending to be younger, I could understand."
At those words, Fiol furrowed her brow.
"My dear. That's quite rude."
Ramsay didn't flinch at Fiol's reprimand.
"Even the most talented magicians take ten years or more to reach the High-Rank, and that's for one element. The rumors that have reached our land say that Aoi-dono can use magic of all elements at the High-Rank or above. I naturally assumed that you were a seasoned magic user, like Glenn-sensei."
However, that wasn't the case. He didn't say it outright, but his eyes conveyed the message. I exhaled a sigh and shook my head.
"It doesn't matter if you don't acknowledge my skills. If you trust the abilities of Fiddiq Academy's teachers, there should be no obstacle to receiving lectures at the academy."
To that, Ramsay tilted his head back and cracked his neck.
"No, I can't accept that. I'm interested in testing your skills. I doubt you'd refuse, wouldn't you? If you're afraid of defeat, that's understandable."
At Ramsay's words, I let out a light, amused laugh.
"Did I say something funny?"
Ramsay looked at me as if he had seen something amusing. I nodded frankly, smiling.
"No, I simply thought that you used a similar form of provocation as your son. It truly does run in the family."
When I said that, Ramsay's expression softened, and he blinked.
"......Well, regardless of skill, you seem to have plenty of nerve."
He said it with a mix of amusement and confusion. Then, Ramsay looked up and laughed.
"Alright! Then, let's have Felter and Aoi-dono fight together on the day of the Cultural Festival! Wahahaha! I'm looking forward to it!"
He nodded in satisfaction, pleased with himself. Seeing that, Fiol placed a hand on her cheek, looking politely troubled.
"Oh my... It's happened again this year. I apologize. Would you be so kind as to..."
"You're not going to stop him?"
I asked in disbelief, stunned by Fiol's response. I thought she was more sensible, but she seemed overly indulgent towards her husband.
Just then, the lively atmosphere of the avenue suddenly fell silent. Turning around to see what was going on, I noticed a group approaching from afar. Leading the way was a striking figure with red hair.
"Oh, Marquis Ramsay! You're here early! Hahahaha. Long time no see."
Middleton and Rhea, accompanied by their guards, walked towards us with a cheerful laugh. Ramsay nodded in response, acknowledging his greeting.
"Kilbegan-dono, it's been a while. I'm glad to see you well."
Ramsay, surprisingly, greeted the king of a nation with the same demeanor. Perhaps that's just how he was, as a Marquis. Middleton and Rhea didn't seem to mind.
"Hahaha. You haven't changed, Marquis Ramsay. So, have you already met Aoi-dono? You're lucky."
"Hmm, so the rumors are true. This young lady is indeed the rumored senior teacher. She's quite young. I was a bit skeptical."
"Fuf, if you continue to look at her like that, you'll be speechless. Well, I was too, at first."
Middleton and Ramsay laughed, exchanging pleasantries. Rhea, meanwhile, casually exchanged greetings with Fiol.
"You look well, Fiol-san."
"You look well too... By the way, your son seems to have grown so much. Could you share your secret? As you know, our Marquisate only produces warriors..."
"Rox, you mean? Well... it's probably thanks to Aoi-sensei's guidance. She treats her students with sincerity, regardless of their status as royals or nobles..."
Before I knew it, they were engaged in a casual conversation like an impromptu neighborhood gathering. I glanced at Rox and Felter, who were standing silently, and I bowed slightly.
"Then, I'll be on my way."
As I was leaving, I noticed Rox giving me a critical look.
"You're being unfair."
"I shouldn't interrupt a family gathering."
