Chapter 276: Hell Raid Arc [ 19 ]

The dagger dug into her neck, drawing blood. I brought my hand back, and with a wide smile, I slashed the dagger at her neck.

To my surprise, her body reacted on instinct, forming a diamond-skin barrier and blocking the dagger from piercing her neck. The dagger had shattered to boot.

That was the only courtesy I had been planning to give her. I didn’t care much for her life, as in the end, she’s just fuel to make Amon stronger.

After all, what better way to turn someone to demon kind’s side than to kill their lover in front of them?

So with that in mind, I raised my hand and channeled some energy into it. No matter how strong she was, I’d cut her in two.

Yet as my hand neared her head, I suddenly felt a strange force pulling me back. I glanced over to Amon, and it was most definitely not him. I then glanced at the Sword Saint. She seemed to be twitching and moving a little more than the others, but it wasn’t her either.

So who...?

"If you value your insect life in the slightest, then back off and leave," a cold voice resounded from behind me. Once I turned around, I was met with a surprising sight.

It was a man that looked exactly like Amon. The details were almost perfect, except that he only had one eye, and it was pitch black and cloudy. An eye that belonged to a dead man.

But from the very familiar energy I felt, I had a rough idea of just who this man could be.

"Are you that raven who had been buzzing around?"

"My name’s Morr," the man replied. "And I’d like to propose a deal to you."

I raised a brow. "A deal?"

He nodded and pointed at the Sword Saint.

"I’ll leave her here. In exchange, I take both Clementine and Amon."

I scoffed. "And why exactly should I give a shit about the Sword Saint when the savior is right in front of me?"

"Because the alternative is that you return to your master empty-handed," he replied.

Haah?

The amount of confidence in his voice almost made me forget that he was just a weakling. Someone whose powers barely reach Grade 60.

"Tell me, how do I get them out of that Realm of Despair?" Morr asked.

But I had no intention of answering. I covered the trio in my energy and pushed them back. Afterwards, I narrowed my eyes at Morr.

My energy swirled inside my chest as I focused on my Darkness Manipulation Gift. Once I locked onto the shadow of Morr, I reappeared inside it, grabbed his feet, and used Atomic Destabilization to de-atomize his body in an instant.

By the time I left his shadow, Morr was nothing more than a dust particle in the air. It almost made me pity him.

I turned back to Amon and the others, ready to finally kill his woman. But to my genuine surprise, Morr was just standing there, tapping on Amon’s forehead. He tried infusing some energy into it, but he failed.

Realizing that he might be more troublesome than I first expected, I didn’t hesitate to yank him back with Telekinesis. He ragdolled through the air and violently crashed against a sharp rock. The rock pierced straight through his chest. Blood spurted, and his eyes seemed to turn blurry.

But once again...

"Telekinesis and Darkness Manipulation. They’re both very interesting Gifts when used together. Spatial Manipulation would allow you to warp a shadow infinitely, thus increasing the power of Darkness in general by several-fold."

I turned around and spotted Morr leisurely sitting on a mountaintop. He had his legs crossed as he just continued talking on and on.

"It’s strange how you all have Darkness Manipulation. Is it because all of you filthy demons are inbred?"

I sighed at his provocation. "It’s because the Ancient Demons weren’t as stupid as the other races. They managed to crystallize their bloodlines and create miasma. We’re all born in that miasma, and we all inherit the same Gifts."

"Ah. Yeah, I remember." Morr chuckled. "In the past when I was still striving for peace, I remember meeting a demon who used Light Manipulation. To think just because he wasn’t infected by your infested air, he managed to become such a grand being."

In the past... Striving for peace?

How old is this raven?

"Anyhow..."

He uncrossed his legs and then stood up. He dusted himself off, and then met my gaze.

"My offer from before is no longer valid. You, unfortunately, will have to pass on."

The sky suddenly cracked open, revealing thousands, if not millions, of crimson eyes. All of them were looking right at me.

Before I could even begin to channel my energy or look away, I felt like I had already lost all control over my body. My vision started to blur, and before losing consciousness, the only thing I could hear was my loud heartbeat.

For a moment, I felt like I was floating.

But then the overwhelming pain of having my body severed in two, my blood boiled and poured back onto me... Everything crashed down at once.

I had never been in a situation like this. I had never even considered the possibility of ever being captured this way. Yet no matter what I did, or what I tried to do, I wasn’t able to escape wherever I had been trapped.

[Aliyah’s POV]

I opened my eyes and felt strangely groggy. Though, the reminder of what had occurred just a few minutes ago was fresh in my mind.

And in the same manner, it managed to freshen up my grogginess too as I glanced around in confusion.

This wasn’t the Demon Realm anymore.

Instead, it was the Pandora Mountain Range.

The mountain range where Eric and I live, and where my family, tribe, and everyone I cared about used to live as well.

Did I get teleported back home?

"AAAAAAAAAH!"

"H-Help me!"

"Demons!"

"..."

I didn’t.
