Chapter 101: 101 Meeting the Lady of Winterfell.

After their talk in the cafeteria, Luna invited Cain to follow her. They bid a quick farewell to the others, leaving the suddenly silent room behind.

The two walked along the paved road, following a path that led toward the entrance gate, a barrier that both protected and caged them within the training facility.

"Wait here."

Cain halted his steps as Luna, who stood beside him, spoke. He saw the girl stride over the guards, giving them a heads-up on what was happening.

Several times passed, Luna gave the two guards a slight bow, causing them to scratch their heads in embarrassment. She turned around, then gestured toward the boy to walk closer. Like an obedient pet, Cain moved his feet and stood beside the smiling girl.

Cain watched as the towering gate before him hissed, exhaling a white mist that brushed against his skin, cold yet reassuring in its durability, able to withstand a missile attack.

When Cain was about to lift his feet, something warm wrapped around his right wrist. That action from Luna made him jerk his head sideways, yet before he knew it, she was pulling around his body.

The boy raised his brows, wondering where the girl could have that much power from? Not only was she stealthy as she managed to grab him unprepared, but the strength of her grip also made him stiffen.

Cain didn’t like to boast, but after distributing his bonus stats, he was confident in his raw power and agility, enough to have beaten a senior. So how could Luna, seemingly effortlessly, drag him along?

Or was there simply a vast, hidden gap between the crimson senior and someone of Luna’s calibre? The thought was as unsettling as it was intriguing.

"Let’s wait here."

Her clear, cheerful voice snapped him out of his daze. Cain looked to the side, seeing senior Luna focus her blue eye over the distance before her expression broke into a charming smile.

"He’s coming."

’Who?’

As much as he wanted to speak that word. Cain chose to seal his lips, letting himself be dragged away by the girl.

Luna stepped forward, raising her hand high and waving it like a flag. Due to their close distance, the girl’s silver hair brushed against Cain’s hand, making him frown after noticing the outfit he was wearing.

’I’m still in my training outfits.’

He looked at Luna’s sleek bodysuit, which emphasizes her not-too-big curve, and cargo pants. At least he wasn’t alone. Then the full horror dawned on him like a splash of water, cooling his head.

’Wait, we are going to her house to see her mother. She can just change her outfits there.’

Before he could voice his complaints, the world was swallowed by a screeching sound of tires scraping the ground. A black luxury car stopped in front of him, and then the passenger door opened automatically.

"Let’s go in, Cain."

Urged by Luna, Cain could only give her a wry smile as he followed the girl inside. The cabin was spacious, and the seat he was sitting on was so soft, it felt like Cain was sleeping on the clouds.

"Forgive me, young lady for not coming out to greet you."

From the driver’s seat, a middle-aged man glanced at the mirror hung above the dashboard. Luna, who sat beside Cain, shook her head.

"No need, I don’t like those formalities after all."

Hearing that, the man could only offer a dry smile as he was aware of what the young lady wanted.

"Hurry up, Malik! I’m sure mother is waiting for us."

Malik nodded and stepped on the gas, letting the engine roar smoothly. The vehicle turned around, then glided on the black asphalt, leaving the gate in a blink.

Cain gazed at the fading scenery on the window beside him. However, it was a letdown because his sight was filled with towering walls that stretched as far as his eyes could see.

The grey metal before him began to shrink as the car took another path to access a main road. As he was about to rest his back against the back, a slight squeeze from his hand shifted his attention toward the girl beside him.

"Hey, can I ask you something?"

He tilted his head, waiting for the girl to complete her scattered thoughts.

"Earlier in the arena, what happened between you and the senior?"

The grip in his hand tightened, making Cain’s heart rate leap as he felt senior Luna’s soft and delicate fingers interlocking with his.

Cain stared into the girl’s eyes; her serene blue eyes were like a mirror reflecting the emotion hidden beneath his black eyes. The boy shrugged, then began to tell the story.

"Nothing too serious, they volunteered themselves as a tutor...."

As the conversation goes on, Cain notices the girl’s eyes never leave his side. She kept watching him, looking a bit forlorn, or should he say, longing.

Luna’s reputation was known throughout the training facilities. Her cold demeanor when dealing with strangers earned her the nickname "Winter Lady." Yet the care and attention she gave to him was undoubtedly something absurd if he thought it carefully.

Cain had no idea why a girl, who had only met him a couple of times, would show those expressions to him, except that both of them had connections in the past, which, sadly, he didn’t have any recollection of.

"I see. I never know you’re that strong Cain, to defeat Oliver who even I have a hard time to deal with."

’Hoo, deal with it, huh.’

The boy parted his lips, showing a slight smile when he heard the girl’s response.

’As I thought, senior Luna was stronger than that crimson-haired senior.’

Luna places a finger on her chin, deep in thought. Just before her brows furrowed, Cain opened his mouth.

"So, why do you know I was in the arena?"

Those words made Luna’s body flinch as she began to glance at his side. She pressed her lips tight, hesitating to speak. Then, after the two stared for a couple of seconds, Luna sighed.

"I was being dragged by Chloe, who accidentally watched you walking in the corridor toward the arena."

"I see."

"Oh, but it doesn’t mean I forgot about you, I plan to have a talk with you regarding my mother and..."

Luna leaned closer, making the boy’s shoulder touch the door. Her barrage of words was like a bullet that rained on his body. The boy tried to stop her outburst, but couldn’t, as his teenage hormones refused to let him, and he utilized the advantage to feel the girl’s soft touch throughout the journey.

’Curse this healthy body!’

After several times had passed, the car rode through the main road until it arrived at the front gate that guards a palace behind it. The metal gate creaked as it opened to welcome the incoming vehicle. Malik kept operating the steer before he stepped on the brake pedal and stopped near the mansion entrance.

"Let’s go."

Eager to leave, the silver-haired girl pushed open the door beside her. Whether she noticed it or not, Luna still didn’t let go of their connected hands.

Cain sighed in resignation and could only watch her back, guiding him around the mansion. They passed several maids along the way, who happened to notice their condition, making them freeze in their tracks. One dropped a feather duster; another’s clipboard clattered to the floor.

All wore identical expressions of stunned disbelief, their eyes locked on their intertwined hands.

He scratched his cheek, feeling embarrassed about any of this. However, his condition worsened as Luna pushed the door in her mother’s room, causing the person inside to jolt in shock.

"Mother, I’m home."

The woman on the bed, Luna’s mother, jolted in shock, her eyes widening at the intruders. Then her gaze narrowed, but upon noticing another person being dragged by her daughter, she exhaled a long breath. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"Luna, can you just come quietly?"

When the mother clutched her throbbing head after watching her daughter’s childish conduct, Luna pulled Cain closer to her side; the girl’s expression beamed in glee.

"I brought Cain with me."

Cain gulped, nodding his head to greet the now healthy woman. She glared at her daughter before shifting her attention toward him. The woman’s hardened expression melted, showing a beautiful yet fragile smile.

"Welcome Cain. We finally met."
