Transmigrated as the Novel's Final Boss-Chapter 16 - :Questing [1]
Chapter 16: Chapter 16:Questing [1]
Making no sound, I silently moved my weightless katana through the bush so that its tip was now facing the sky.
In unison, my clones did the same exact thing, replicating my every movement.
After mentally ordering my clones to wait, I tensed my legs and hopped up into the air like a kangaroo.
My blood-red katana was positioned directly below one of the four dark pixies, so as I burst into the air, my sword pierced right through the dark pixie.
And, even after that, the blood-red blade of my katana did not lose its momentum as it sliced right through the pixie and continued surging upward at the tree.
As my katana passed through the pixie, cutting it in half, its limp body rapidly descended toward the ground.
When the body collided with the ground, it seemed to shatter into millions of fragments, which sparkled for a moment before disappearing from sight.
And eventually, all that was left was a very small dark-purple orb the size of an earring.
At that moment, as the other dark pixies around realized their comrade's death, my clones suddenly jumped into the air, blocking the pixies' escape route.
The dark pixies' gazes immediately flicked up toward the sky as they seemed to decide to fly up to escape; however, it was too late.
That small moment of hesitation from the pixies was all that I needed.
As the pixies flapped their wings and surged upward, attempting to break free from the dense forest and enter the light-blue sky above, my katana suddenly banged against the tree above them.
"Shhhk—CRACK!"
Slicing clean through one of the tree's branches, the blood-red katana seemed to halt, not because it had lost momentum but because I didn't have the strength and arm span to swing it any further.
Cut from the tree, the sliced branch rapidly descended toward the ascending fairies, hitting the remaining three of them before they could react.

Unable to withstand the pressure of the branch, the dark pixies' wings ceased their flapping, and their battered bodies fell to the floor.
But, before their bodies could even hit the floor, I performed a horizontal slash with my blood-red katana, instantly slicing through all three of them.
With that, the dark pixies' bodies quickly decomposed and disappeared as they hit the floor, leaving three additional purple orbs.
Glancing around the forest, I alternated gazes between my five clones, which were all simply standing still with their blood-red katanas up to the sky.
They hadn't taken any hits, so none of them had disappeared.
But...how long would they stay here?
Theoretically, if these clones never got hit, could they remain in this world with me forever?
"At ease."
Curious, I nodded my head at the clones and signaled for them to put down their swords.
Then, leaning downward, I examined the four dark-purple orbs on the ground and placed them on my palm.
Mana orbs.
Although "maximum mana capacity" wasn't a stat displayed on the system menu, humans still considered it to be important.
Per the name, the more maximum mana capacity you have, the more mana you are able to contain within your body.
This is essential as mana is required for almost every aspect of combat.
From using mana to surround your body with a layer of protection to using it to augment your weapons and attacks, mana is essential for all fighters.
Once you awaken, your body is "randomly" assigned a max mana capacity, and there is only one way to increase it from there.
Absorbing mana orbs, which can be dropped from magical beasts, increase your maximum mana capacity, allowing you to hold more mana within your body.
Resisting the urge to immediately absorb the four purple E-rank mana orbs, I tucked them in my cloak's pocket and turned around.
The Adventurer's Guild needed evidence that I had actually completed the help request.
Shaking my head, my five clones and I slowly walked through the dimly lit forest.
If I recall correctly, one of the first incidents of the novel should be taking place here tomorrow.
After arriving in Ezria town, she would be caught up in the same dilemma as me, with no money to afford the warp gate fee to the capital city.
During the first few pages of the book, she would undertake an escort mission from the adventurer's guild to gather up money.
However, during that supposed easy mission, she, a current E+ rank, would encounter a C-rank beast, a troll.
With the news of her brother's recent death on her mind, she would be extremely sullen and passionless, so this incident would act as an inciting incident, reigniting her passion and desire to avenge her brother.
After awakening her gift and reaching enlightenment, she would be able to hold up against the C-rank troll, saving her escort and everyone else in the area.
And, although she wouldn't be able to kill the troll, reinforcements from the adventurer's guild would arrive, assisting her and destroying the troll.
Sighing, I stepped out of the forest and onto the vast plain ahead.
"A troll, huh...those must go for a lot."
Sending a mental order to my five clones to remain in the forest, I headed towards the city gates.
