Transmigrated into Another Apocalyptic World (BL)-Chapter 283 - 282: Eating dinner with Treyton’s relatives
Chapter 283: Chapter 282: Eating dinner with Treyton’s relatives
"Let’s go back. It should be time for dinner soon," Treyton said.
"We would’ve been back already if it weren’t for you," Luciel said lazily as he sat up.
Fortunately, they had packed some food before leaving earlier, so no one had come looking for them at lunchtime.
"You also said you were going to talk to your grandfather this afternoon, but you didn’t even go because we just stayed in our space," Luciel added with a chuckle.
"Ha ha. Yeah, then let’s just stop by Grandpa’s place to tell them the news," Treyton said.
"Okay, let’s go. But I’ll stop by to say hello to Mr. Acacia before we leave," Luciel said as he stood up and stretched.
Neither of them dawdled any longer. After getting dressed, they headed over to see Mr. Acacia.
Luciel greeted him and explained that he wouldn’t be coming by for the next few days since a lot of people would likely be bothering Mr. Acacia.
He added that they would share what Mr. Acacia had told him with the others and that the researchers would definitely come to talk to him over the next few days.
Mr. Acacia, however, said he didn’t mind speaking with more people, so they didn’t need to worry about it.
After chatting briefly with Mr. Acacia, the two of them started walking back to their community.
When they arrived at Treyton’s grandfather’s villa and knocked on the door, it was Astrid who opened it.
"Cousin, Brother Luciel, good evening!" Astrid greeted them warmly as soon as she saw them, stepping aside to let them in.
They greeted her in return and entered the house. Luciel noticed that everyone was already gathered in the living room except for Uncle Lawrence and Calvin.
"It’s Treyton and Luciel. Come, have a seat with us. Dinner is already being prepared—since you’re here, let’s all eat together," Aunt Cana said warmly as they made their way toward one of the sofas.
"Just in time, we haven’t had dinner yet. What about Uncle Laurence and Calvin?" Treyton asked.
"They’re still staying in their dorm at the lab most of the time," Aunt Cana replied.
"If they don’t come back within the next 30 minutes, they probably won’t be coming at all."
She then looked at Treyton and added, "Are you here to see your uncle?"
"Not specifically, but it’s related to him, so it would be better if he heard it directly. Still, you can pass the message along since I’ll be heading out on a mission tomorrow."
"You’re leaving the base again? Be careful and come back safely," Aunt Cana said with concern.
"If you were looking for your Uncle Laurence, you should’ve visited this afternoon," Uncle Wilder added.
"We were busy, so this was the only time I had to come by," Treyton replied.
"What do you want to pass on?" Uncle Jeremy asked.
"It’s about what Mr. Acacia said regarding the origin of the energy around us," Treyton said, and then shared what Mr. Acacia had told him.
"I don’t have time to tell Uncle Lawrence about it, so you guys can just inform him about it tomorrow so that they could talk to Mr. Acacia more about it if they wanted to.
Mr. Acacia already said that he doesn’t mind being bothered by them, but even though Mr. Acacia has a good personality, they should still be selective about who they send. Make sure the people chosen won’t end up annoying him."
"I’ll remind Lawrence to choose the right people," Grandpa Omar said. "But Mr. Acacia has been here for days—you should’ve shared this information earlier."
"I also only heard it from Luciel last night," Treyton said.
"Then you should’ve come and informed us earlier. Don’t tell me you were so busy you only remembered to share it with us tonight?" Uncle Jeremy said.
"I know Cousin forgot because he was busy with Brother Luciel and only had time to come now," Vance teased.
"Yeah, I’ve been busy... maintaining the harmony of life," Treyton said with a chuckle. Then he asked, "But how did you know?"
"One of the soldiers under me recognized you," Vance replied. "He saw you two kissing on the road and then going into your house on the farm."
He sighed dramatically, "What a nice way to be busy while also enjoying yourself at the same time."
"That’s just how it is," Treyton said, casually slinging an arm around Luciel in a half-embrace. "If you’re jealous, you can always go find yourself a boyfriend or girlfriend."
"I know you two are in a relationship, but you should try to restrain yourselves a bit in public," Uncle Wilder said as a reminder. "Some people might act out of hatred—just like those murders or fights that have happened in the base because of things like that."
"Don’t worry, Uncle. We’re strong enough, so even if someone really wants to come after us, we can handle them first," Treyton said confidently.
Luciel didn’t join in the conversation. He remained silent, simply listening as Treyton was warned—not only by Uncle Wilder but also by Uncle Jeremy and Grandpa Omar.
However, judging by Treyton’s replies, it was clear he wasn’t taking their warnings too seriously.
Luciel only joined the conversation once they were already talking about other things, which were mostly about some things that they had encountered recently.
With their talks, Luciel also learned more about some things that were happening in the base.
For example, Uncle Wilder shared again that there were a lot of fights that were reported because of relationships. Some also lead to murder simply because some were jealous of other people who still have good relationships.
Uncle Wilder mentioned that nearly 30 percent of the fights and murders within the base were caused by relationship issues.
Jason, George, and Vance—who were also involved in patrol duties—shared some of the incidents they and their colleagues had encountered.
Many fights stemmed from cheating; either the man or the woman had been unfaithful, and the conflict sometimes escalated to murder.
Other incidents were caused by people coveting someone else’s partner or because their own partners were being pursued by others.
There were also cases involving individuals who were in relationships with multiple people at once. When the truth came out, the people involved fought with each other.
In some instances, they fought over who was more favored, and the situation became so chaotic that patrolling soldiers had to intervene.
When the apocalypse began, a lot of people who had different thoughts took action. Those who had wanted to cheat but had no chance because they were always watched acted with confidence because a lot of people did worse things than themselves.
And some of those who dreamed of having a lot of people beside them but had no choice but to have only one partner because of the law acted because they finally could.
Others were also enticed by the benefits of being in a relationship with others, so of course they were willing to cheat or be with others as long as they could get some benefits.
The base also knew about it, and they couldn’t do much about such things.
The base doesn’t have the energy to monitor the people with their relationships because after the appearance of the zombies, a lot of problems arose.
So as long as there isn’t any murder, the base wouldn’t care about such problems as long as they don’t encounter them in their patrols or they aren’t reported to them.
However, the cases reported to them were still a lot, which just proves that a lot of people had more problems regarding their relationship after the beginning of the apocalypse.
After discussing those incidents, Jason also shared updates on the progress of ability users in the base.
He mentioned that many individuals had grown significantly stronger, and even those in his team who had shown the slowest progress were now finally able to use their abilities effectively, as they could already kill zombies properly with the help of their powers.
Then, Luciel also heard from Uncle Jeremy that they were continuously receiving a lot of people in the base, and if it continued, then in a few months the living areas of the base would be crowded.
So, they also talked about the possibility of expanding the base again after they finish consolidating their current defenses.
After they talked for about 20 minutes, dinner was finally served. Of course, they continued chatting during the meal, and the conversation carried on until Luciel and Treyton finally decided to leave about 15 minutes after they had finished eating.
When they returned to their villa, the members of the team had also just finished their dinner and were still in the living room.
So, as soon as they returned, Treyton began talking to the others about their mission tomorrow and other things.
Luciel had already finished eating dinner, so he didn’t bother staying in the living room and left while the others were still discussing things.
