Ariana had been absentminded ever since the morning.

Luiss flicked her forehead. She blinked. "Huh, what?"

"Where have you been lost, Ms Grey? We got a tonne to do for your skyline projects."

Today was a flight to another city. Most of the executive staff would follow suit in business class of regular flights

Not Ariana though.

"You are coming with me," Luiss announced more of an order than a request.

"Any peculiar reason?" Ariana asked because it was out of norm.

"I just want to keep you in my sight"

"Why?"

"So you won’t slack off."

Ariana: "..."

Presidnt Luiss, isnn’t this excuse getting too overused?

"Is there a private suite in your jet?" She asked cautiously..

"Yes there is. Why do you wanna rest there?"

"Yes, I have been unable to sleep lately. So it’s best if I can catch a sleep."

Before the fight, Arana bid farewell to Elias, filling the fridge with groceries, and reminding him to eat properly and take care of himself. Once she was gone Elias mumbled to himself.

"That was a first,"

She would usually be off for days. Elias would have no knowledge of whether she was at home on not. Now she was asking himto take care of himself, let alone informing him; he didn’t know how to feel about this.

"You too... take care."

"Don’t worry about me." Ariana gestured with her hand. "I’m going with Presidnt Luiss. Nothing can even touch my hair."

Elias tensed. "Was that President Luiss your date the other day?"

Ariana blinked and stared at Elias. How could he have guessed.

"Ariana, I would advice you to stay away from these people of power. We are from different worlds entirely."

I would gladly if there isn’t a system poking my ass every second

"Are you afraid I’lll get played then discarded?" She ruffled is hair as she asked.

"It’s a possibility," Elias replied swatting away her hand.

"Kid, I’m way older than you."

"Only five years." Elias grumbled.

"Anyways I’ve passed that stage. Don’t assume I’m some hormonal teenager. I take each step very cautiously."

Elias grumbled something along the lines ’I hope so’ before picking up his books and leaving for him room.

Back at the company, David whistled when he heard Ariana was going with President Luiss in his private jet.

"Gods have risen your status. Looks like you are someone I should start flattering."

Ariana smiled. "Yet I get no flattery from your side."

"I treated you to a dinner. It’s who you decline."

"I had someone more important to attend to."

"No worries. We’ll be pretty free after we come back from Tokyo."

Ever since David relationship stats have gone in positives, he would have those innocent banters. However those innocent banters were not so very innocent in the eyes of certain someone. Luiss watched it all via CCTV, live. Not a moment she would be away and not in front of his eyes. It was becoming an obsession to the point he couldn’t focus on work unless she was in front of him.

"Dinner huh?" With expressions like those as if he gonna murder someone, he called her into his office.

Ariana, clueless of what awaited ahead answered President Luiss call and marched her way to the Luiss office after taking the elevator. Here, she swiped her card and entered Luiss office. She hadn’t taken a full step inside when she was shocked frozen in her steps,

"Is everything alright President Luiss?"

A cold gaze fixated at her. It was so intense Ariana felt a frost spreading over her face.

"Alright," Luiss scoffed.

Meant not alright

"Is there some matter in the company?"

Silence.

"Somethin wrong with skyline project?"

Silence

"President Gerald?"

More silence.

"Did I do something wrong?"

His chair creaked loudly as he got up, demonstrating his anger. Circling the big office table, he now stood in front of her.

Ariana took a step back holding onto the files in her hands, her knuckles whitened. He took a step in, his eyes ablaze in fury. Ariana took another step back and it continued until her back hit the wall.

Luiss grabbed onto her wrists and pinned them above her head, pushing her against the wall. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

The files slipped from her hands and scattered on the floor.

Ariana was flabbergasted.

Before she could make sense of things, his face moved closer to her. His lips reached her ear and tauntingly whispered. "Dinner huh? Now you would go out on dinner with men behind my back."

So this was it all about.

Ariana heart was about to jump out of her chest.

"David and I are mere friends." She tried to give an explanation.

How the hell Luiss knew about it. She had not told anyone. And she had this exchange with David at an isolated spot. It was too quick for him to know!

Or maybe, David slipped it out? That fucker!

While myraid of possibilities swirked in her head, Luiss said.

"Friends huh? I remember you two being at each other’s throat not a month ago."

"Misunderstandings." Ariana tried to wiggle out of his grasp but failed. The harder she tried, the firmer the grip became over her wrists. He pushed his body against hers. She could feel a well developed torso hiding just behind the crisp white shirt.

"Misundersanding?" Hs voice licked her ears. Full of anger, restrain and tumulous emotions ready to burst any moment.

"Yes, you can ask David. He hated my guts. He is good to me only because I have secured the company a great margin. He values those people who work in Luiss Groups bst interests"

His hot breath touched her ear. Squashed between the wall and his hard chest, Ariana wanted to cry but she had no tears. Her heart was hammering like it was going to explode out of her chest. Never in her entire life had she come in such close contact with a male.

"I’ll sure see through what I ought to do with him. As for you Ms. Grey," He pulled back a little. No longer his lips were close to her ear. Now he was face to face with her. His lips inches away from her.
