Transmigrated: Stealing the CEO husband-Chapter 60: Negotations start
The restaurant spoke of luxury and opulence. If not for Gerald having reserved a seat, she wouldn’t be able to enter such a place.
"Now, what are you doing here?" Katherine Voss cut her pathway. Ïs it my bad luck I keep stumbling into you wherever I go?"
Katherine couldn’t have gotten a reservation in the Le Cygne d’Or if not for the diplomatic relations of the Voss company with Gerald.
"Ms. Katherine," Ariana acknowledged her presence.
"You are just an employee. How could you have a reservation here?"
"I don’t want to spoil my mood. Get out of here right now, or else I will take measures."
"Why does my presence bother you so much?" Ariana was amused.
"Because you don’t deserve to stand here. You do not understand and respect the difference between the rulers and servants."
"And if I refuse?"
"Then know that I would need to use other ways to remove you."
"Other ways" Ariana scoffed. "Like the ones you used in Celestial Plaza."
"There’s a difference between the Plaza and the restaurant. This one is owned by Gerald Corporation. He wants to strengthen the ties with the Voss family while he is at odds with the Luiss Groups." Katherine confidently said.
"Is that so?" Ariana let off a small smile. "You seem to know a lot about the company’s politics. Funny considering you never set foot in the office."
At the same time Manager was waiting, making his way to Katherine and Ariana. Katherine took the opportunity. "I’m the only daughter of President Voss. Here I demand that you remove this nuisance from the restaurant. Where are the standards of this restaurant? I especially came here because I expected people from noble families here. She is from the working class."
The manager paid Katherine no heed. "Ms. Grey, you are finally here. Let me lead you to the exclusive room. President Gerald is waiting for you."
Katherine was flabergasted. President Gerald is waiting? Exclusive room?
"You...!"
"We will see each other later. I’ve got a business to attend." She bowed to Katherine. "Farewell."
Ariana made her way to Gerald, leaving behind a seething Katherine.
"One day I’m gonna get you," She spat full of hatred. She contacted her brother. "Elder brother,: With tearful eyes, she complained. "Someone has been harassing me?"
"Who is it? " Rolf asked
"Arian Grey, the secretary to President Luiss."
"Don’t worry sister, elder brother would see through that she suffers."
When Ariana entered the exclusive room of the restaurant, her breath caught at the sight.
From the exclusive "Celeste Room" of Le Cygne d’Or, the view is nothing short of breathtaking. Floor-to-ceiling windows curve gently around the space, offering an uninterrupted panorama of the glittering cityscape below. Skyscrapers stretch into the night, their glass facades catching the golden glow of streetlights and neon signs, reflecting them like scattered stars.
Beyond the city’s pulse, a river winds through the metropolis, its dark waters shimmering with the reflections of passing boats. Tiny ripples dance on the surface as a gondola drifts lazily beneath an elegantly arched bridge, where lanterns flicker like fireflies in the cool evening breeze.
Inside the Celeste Room, the atmosphere was intimate and refined. The soft hum of a grand piano from the main hall blends with the distant murmur of conversation. A crystal chandelier overhead casts a constellation of refracted light onto the polished marble floors, while fresh orchids in delicate vases perfume the air with the faintest hint of vanilla and citrus.
At the corner table—the most coveted seat in the house—a couple clinks glasses of aged champagne, the golden liquid mirroring the city’s glow. From this height, everything seems timeless, as if the world below is moving in slow motion, a masterpiece painted just for those lucky enough to witness it.
"Ah, secret Grey, you are finally here." Gerald, used to such luxury, remarked.
"Yes, I’m."
"I have to admit you have done a lot of firsts on me. I have never waited for anyone."
"My apologies for being late. I was halted by someone along the way."
"Katherine Voss, I heard."
"President Gerald is knowledgeable"
At his gesture, Ariana walked forward and took a seat.
"I had to make a whole company bankrupt just to have you dine with me; isn’t that unfair?"
"I doubt the reason was just to dine with me," Ariana was very formal with him. Even her dress was very formal with minimal makeup.
"Secretary Grey," He said. "I have an offer for you."
"I’m listening."
"Why would you join my corporation as my personal secretary? You will be paid five times as much as Gerald pays you."
Can you do system tasks for me? Ariana thought in her head but said. "I’m afraid I’ll have to refuse."
Gerald was grasping the dining table. His hold tightened, whitening his knuckles.
"Might I ask why?"
"I don’t work for money. I work for a vision."
"Is it impossible to find that vision by my side?"
At this, Ariana was silent. She needed to stay close to President Luiss to complete the Tasks given by the system. Even if that was not the case, she would never leave Luiss’s side to join Gerald’s. The man was a nutcase. Who knew when he would flip and kill you? He was only good to the female lead.
"I have done some probing. It looks like you have a brother, a younger one who studies in a medical college."
Was this what he was gonna do to force her to work with him? Ariana could endure if he was playing with her but if he involved her family, she ought to be ruthless.
Ariana’s face tensed. "I have also done some probing after President Gerald’s confession last time"
This was Gerald’s turn to turn pale.
"And you know what, I found a very interesting thing." Ariana grabbed out her phone, turned on the video of Marcus Smith’s murder, along with digital proof of Gerald’s involvement.
"Now, if I show this to James Smith, I wonder if you would be able to participate in skyline projects at all."
