Transmigrated: The Lycan King's Pet-Chapter 350 Baby/Daddy
"No I didn’t!" Layla said, as if I was purposely framing her.
"Yes, you sure did." I retorted.
"No."
"Yes."
"No, I was just walking normally." She sighed deeply. "So, we are really going to die? We sure have the best of luck." She added sarcastically.
"Sure we do." I exhaled heavily.
"So, we will share our mate, thirteen days for you and thirteen days for me, no one is allowed to interrupt, and anything I want to do, you don’t have the right to say otherwise..."
’There goes half of my time.’ I rolled my eyes, shaking my head at my fate.
I rubbed my temples as Layla continued pacing inside my head as she had suddenly become the spirit of anxiety. Her muttering grew louder, something about not wanting to waste her potential and lost opportunities, and somehow Beowulf’s name was squeezed into every sentence as if that wolf was the only reason she wanted to stay alive.
I exhaled again slowly and kept walking, mostly because staying still with her ranting would probably drive me insane faster than the countdown hanging over us.
The hallway felt colder now, or maybe I was just too aware of my own thoughts. I couldn’t believe I was spending my golden time healing witches who used to hate me, arguing with the voice inside my head, and trying not to think about the possibility that Midnight would break this castle in half if Seraphina even sneezed wrong.
At this point, I shouldn’t care if the world burns.
My fingers curled around the door handle of my room, expecting... more like hoping to see Damon in the room.
The moment I pushed open the door, spontaneously, Damon hid his hand at his back like I had caught him stealing from the treasury. His back straightened. His hand disappeared behind him so fast that I blinked. The look on his face was the same one a child had when he shoved a stolen cookie in his pocket and prayed no one noticed the crumbs on his lips.
My brows rose slowly.
"What are you hiding?" I asked, arching a brow at him.
He stood there like a statue. Suspiciously still and looking innocent.
"What do you mean?" he asked, blinking at me.
I wouldn’t lie, his long hair suits him well, fine like an old wine. I blinked realising how much I had trailed away from the situation at hand.
I walked farther inside the room, my eyes narrowing. But he suddenly smiled at me, like some angel dancing in the clouds.
"Damon," I repeated, just to remind him that I was not stupid.
He didn’t say another word. Instead, he moved closer to me. His height towered over mine. His hand slid around my waist and he pulled me into him. Before I could even think about resisting, his lips were on mine.
My breath caught instantly. His warmth flooded through me with a force that made my heart stutter. His hand traveled up my spine, steady, firm, like he was anchoring me to him and refusing to let anything else exist for a moment.
I hated how easily I melted into this... but I won’t fight the feeling, knowing how special time is.
I hated it even more that he knew exactly how to make me forget anything that wasn’t him.
I broke the kiss only when I needed to breathe, which took longer than I’d like to admit. ’More like I should take more swimming tests so I could hold my breath longer.’
"Isn’t this the same as swimming? You hold your breath during both activities." Layla said, her voice dropping like honey.
"No interruption." I scolded.
My face felt warm, my heartbeat uneven. Damon rested his forehead against mine, breathing softly, like he needed the closeness as much as I did.
"You...you didn’t answer my question," I whispered, my fingers still tangled in his shirt.
His lips brushed mine again in a lazy, almost smug manner. "It was not meant to."
My eyes twitched. "Damon..."
He kissed the corner of my mouth, slowly, deliberately, and my annoyance collapsed like a dying star.
"You... you... are impossible," I muttered, though my voice didn’t sound convincing at all.
"And yet you still fall for me every time," he said, smirking in a way that made my stomach flutter with butterflies.
I pushed his chest lightly, needing at least some space to breathe. "What are you hiding from me?"
"Nothing bad," he replied.
"Then what is it?"
His gaze shifted for a moment, something soft flickering in his eyes. "You will see it soon," he said quietly. "Just give me a little time."
A strange feeling spread across my chest, something between curiosity and dread. Before I could push further, he gently cupped my cheek, his thumb brushing lightly over my skin.
"You look tired," he whispered.
"I healed a witch," I said dryly. "Of course I’m tired... and not only that, I missed my vitamin D."
He hesitated for a moment, then pulled me into his chest, his arms wrapping around me like he needed to protect me from something even I couldn’t see. I leaned into him, allowing my forehead to rest against the warmth of his neck.
"Vitamin D, what is that?" He asked.
I chuckled. "My vitamin... Damon, guess who that is."
"Me?" He pulled away from the hug, a wide smile gracing his lips.
I nodded with a blush.
"Is that my supposed nickname, my love?" He brushed away a strand of hair from my face.
"Hmm... for the nickname, you can be my baby Atlas Babe." I winked at him.
A frown formed on his forehead. "I don’t like it, baby... NO." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
I pulled him closer, smoothening out the crease on his forehead. "You are my baby because... You owe my heart, and a mother loves her baby the most, I’m just comparing the love as the greatest love ever." I said, pulling both sides of his cheeks into a smile.
But his eyes remained fierce and unconvinced. "But don’t worry, in bed, I’ll call you daddy."
