Transmigrated: The Lycan King's Pet-Chapter 377 In-Laws
Theo stood in front of the door to his room, arms crossed and foot tapping against the floor in a restless rhythm. Fenrir paced inside his head, just as impatient as him. He had waited his whole life for a mate, and now that she was finally here, every second she spent away from him felt unnecessary and unbearable.
The door finally opened. Theo’s entire face lit up, the tension in his shoulders melting away in an instant.
Hazel stepped out, and for a moment, he forgot how to breathe.
She was wearing the green dress he had picked for her earlier, the fabric flowing softly around her figure as if it had been made just for her. The color complemented her skin perfectly, making her look warm and radiant, and those doe eyes of hers seemed brighter than ever. To Theo, she looked like the sun itself, gentle and powerful all at once.
"Beautiful," he muttered without thinking, the word slipping out before he could stop it.
Hazel’s cheeks flushed as she shyly fumbled with her hands, her fingers twisting together in a nervous habit that Theo was already starting to recognize. She glanced up at him, then quickly away again. "I know," she muttered, though her voice was barely above a whisper.
Theo chuckled softly, stepping closer. She was shameless and confident in her own quiet way, and it only made her more endearing to him. Exactly his type, in every sense of the word.
"I found your family," he said gently, watching her reaction closely. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Hazel froze for half a second before her eyes widened, relief flooding into them as if he had just handed her the world. "You did?" she asked, her voice trembling with hope.
Theo nodded.
She threw herself into his arms without hesitation, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist as if afraid he might disappear if she let go. "Thank you," she murmured into his chest, her voice thick with emotion.
Theo’s heart melted instantly. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close, breathing her in like she was something essential. Inside his head, Fenrir wagged his tail like an overly excited and obedient dog, completely content for once.
"Our mate hugged us!" Fenrir was over the moon.
They walked together toward the area where the Moonlight pack survivors had been gathered, Hazel clinging to him as if he were her anchor. The moment she spotted her parents, she broke away and rushed forward.
"Mother," she cried out.
Sarah barely had time to react before Hazel was in her arms, hugging her tightly. Arthur joined them seconds later, pulling his daughter into his embrace with a protective growl rumbling in his chest. Hazel laughed as she held onto them, relief washing over her features.
She began speaking all at once, her words tumbling over each other as she told them everything. She told them how she had gone on a quick patrol and encountered the rogues, how she had thought she was going to die alone in the woods, and how somehow, fate had intervened. She spoke of how heaven had saved her and sent her a very handsome mate at the exact moment she needed one.
Then she turned, grabbing Theo’s hand and pulling him forward proudly. "This is Theo," she said, smiling brightly. "He’s my mate."
Arthur’s gaze snapped to Theo instantly, sharp and assessing. The moment his eyes landed on Theo’s aura and he recognized what he was, his entire posture stiffened. A Lycan.
Without hesitation, Arthur lowered his head respectfully, his earlier tension shifting into something more restrained.
Theo straightened instinctively. "Father-in-law, mother-in-law," he greeted politely, his tone respectful and sincere.
Arthur gave him a curt nod in response, his expression unreadable. Sarah, on the other hand, smiled sweetly at Theo, her eyes warm and curious as she studied him.
"I’m Theo," he added. "Gamma of the Bloodshade pack."
Arthur nodded again, his jaw tightening slightly. If he had not already known that this bond was destined, that it was sanctioned by the Goddess herself, he would have challenged Theo on the spot. His precious only daughter was being taken away by another pack, by a Lycan no less, and there was nothing he could do about it.
His mood soured visibly.
Sarah shot him a sharp side glance, silently telling him to change his expression and at least try to look welcoming. That only made Arthur more grumpy. Now even his mate seemed to be taking the stranger’s side.
Hazel noticed his foul mood immediately. She chuckled softly, slipping her hand into her father’s and squeezing it reassuringly. "It’s okay," she said gently. "I’ll be fine. I promise."
She continued speaking, trying to soothe him, but her words were suddenly cut off by a deep, terrifying growl that rippled through the air like thunder.
Hazel froze.
Slowly, she turned around.
Theo’s eyes were burning gold, his pupils blown wide as his gaze locked onto Hazel’s hand still holding her father’s. Fenrir surged forward possessively, the bond flaring hot and intense.
Hazel immediately let go and spun back to him. "Theo," she scolded softly, though there was a hint of amusement in her voice. "Don’t do that."
Theo blinked, realization crashing over him as he forced Fenrir back under control. His eyes slowly returned to their normal color, and he cleared his throat awkwardly.
Beta Arthur let out a low, disapproving growl of his own, his protective instincts bristling at the display.
Theo met his gaze steadily, unflinching. There was tension there, undeniable and heavy, but also something else, respect and restraint.
Hazel stepped between them instinctively, smiling nervously. "He’s just... protective," she said, glancing back at Theo.
Theo nodded once. "Very."
"I don’t care if he is protective, if he tries that again, I’m going to teach him his place," Fenrir growled in his head.
Arthur studied him for a long moment before finally looking away, his expression still gruff but slightly less hostile. Sarah let out a small sigh of relief and patted Hazel’s arm affectionately.
Fenrir settled back with a satisfied huff.
Theo moved closer to Hazel again, his hand brushing hers, sending sparks through their skin. Whatever challenges lay ahead, whatever resistance or doubts remained, one thing was clear to him.
She was his, and he was not letting her go.
