Chapter 382: Chapter 382 Pregnant

Alpha Lucas’ eyes darkened, a little hesitant to kill her. After all, they both shared the mate bond, and if he killed her right then, wouldn’t all his efforts go to waste?

The Greater Evil finally stepped forward, her eyes gleaming as her facial expressions twitched now and then.

"Alpha Lucas, Alpha Lucas. I wouldn’t kill if I were you... not when she is carrying your child." Their voices were eerily low, yet they echoed like she was in an empty space.

The world stilled, Allison’s breath caught in her throat. As realization dawned on her, everything came crashing so fast that even her already shattered world broke further into pieces.

"Kill me." Allison broke down in sobs. She would rather die than carry his child. Why was she so unlucky? Why was she so vengeful? If she had respected Damon’s decision and hadn’t hated Ember so much, she wouldn’t have been in this hell.

Alpha Lucas, unclaimed his fangs around her neck, and gently pulled out his claws buried in her flesh. The fury in his eyes turned to a look of surprise, almost as if he couldn’t believe his ears.

He had an heir now, carrying both Alpha’s blood. His plan to rule the world was coming true.

He gently caressed Allison’s hair, as she had transformed back to her human form.

"This calls for celebration!" He yelled out in excitement.

Meanwhile, Allison remained lying on the floor, tears streaming down her face. Even the fighting spirit she had minutes ago was all gone, almost like she was in her own world, grieving herself.

Maybe now, she was already broken.

...

(Ember POV)

Approaching Damon’s room, I felt a little hesitant. I should properly start distancing myself from him now. I knew he must have felt my pain through the bracelet, and although most of the time he doesn’t ask questions, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have one.

I stood in front of the door, contemplating what to do. I wasn’t ready to face him knowing we had little to no time. I would love to spend this time with him, but it would make it painful for him.

I turned to leave, however, the door suddenly opened. I spun back instantly, my eyes locking with a pair of dark ones.

Damon’s expression softened. "Where have you been? I have been looking everywhere for you." He said, pulling me into a hug. His voice was a little distressed, but there was relief in his eyes, like someone who had been looking for something missing and finally found it.

"I was just having a little chat with Seraphina, I didn’t mean to get you worried," I said.

"Come inside." Without giving me any time to speak, he led me inside.

It was already past midnight. I sat on the edge of the bed.

The silence between us was heavy with unspoken words. His calculating eyes fixated on me, as if he was trying to get the answers out of me.

"Did you happen to read my to-do list?" I asked, fidgeting with the hem of my dress.

"What is that?" Damon asked, feigning innocence.

"Damon, I know you read it. You have been doing everything I wrote on that list lately." I met his gaze.

He ran his fingers through his hair. "You got me. I did." He paused. "I’m sorry I went through your stuff without your permission." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"You don’t have to apologize, actually I’m grateful to you for helping me realize it. It means a lot to me." I said calmly, avoiding his gaze now.

He walked closer to me and sat by my side. The cracking sound of the burning charcoal filled the room.

I could feel his hesitation, pain, and his will to make things right between us. I slowly rested my head on his shoulders.

We stayed like that for a long time, the beating of his heart was like a calm music to my soul.

I wondered, when Ember’s mother gave her away, and when she wiped my memories sealing my powers, she felt so much like me right now.

.....

The next day, I went to Seraphina’s room. As expected she was already waiting for me. The witches glanced at me with disdainful gazes, but overall they seemed surprised and defensive that I came to their future queen.

Seraphina sat on the bed, staring out of the window. "Something bothering you?" I asked amused rather than sounding concerned.

Her head reluctantly turned towards me. "And yours seems to be greater than mine."

I didn’t wait for her to tell me to sit down before taking a seat on the couch in the room.

She got off the bed and took a seat opposite me. Her eyes almost bored a hole through my head.

"What? Captivated by my beauty?" I asked shamelessly with a little smugness on my face.

And as I expected, her eyes grew fierce. "I’m staring at you because you look different."

"How so?" I relaxed my back on the couch.

She stood up, only to sit next to me.

"What are you doing?" I asked, a little perplexed by her actions.

"What? I thought you were teasing me, can’t I do the same?" Her brows creased in seriousness.

"Is this how you tease? With that expression that says you might roast me in the next seconds. Don’t tell me you don’t know how to smile or flirt?" It was my turn to frown at her actions.

"What? I only know how to kill, not please people." She added seriously before grabbing my hand. She placed her other hand shimmering with red magic.

"That was very comforting," I muttered, thinking she was checking the enchanted bracelet. That was when it occurred to me, she was checking the wrong hand.

"The bracelet is on the other hand..." I paused when I saw how serious her expression was. "... what is it?"

A glint of sad emotions flickered through her eyes. She gently lowered my hand. She paused, taking in a deep breath.

"Don’t scare me, tell me what is going on?" My spirit felt strange, I just didn’t know what to feel.

"Ember... you are pregnant." She said looking straight into my eyes.

It was like a bucket of ice water was poured over me.
