Chapter 76: A lesson in pain.

It had to be a trick, was the first thought in Sienna’s mind. Nobody in their right mind would request to be hit, otherwise. She had offended the princess and then her uncle came to visit and asked to be hit! It had to be a trap.

Sting raised his chin, and gestured with his fingers. "Come on, hit me with your best shot. I am curious to know if all the rumors surrounding this pan have any truth to them. The brand’s value has gone up significantly since you started wielding the cooking tool like a weapon."

Shalin put the pan in Sienna’s hand. Sienna blinked, looked at the pan which was still greasy from frying what smelled like eggs. She looked at Sting--golden mane, smirk on his arrogant royal face, muscles flexing like her was auditioning for Mr. Universe. Then, she looked at Ali, who was bouncing up and down like a cheerleader at a sports event. All that was missing was a pony tail, cute outfit and pom poms.

"Mama, hit him! Lion stinky. Hit him!" Ali squealed, eyes sparkling with mischief.

Eli, on a video call with his father, asked in a dismayed voice, "Are you seeing this?"

Elias nodded. "Yes Eli, I am seeing everything."

"They have lost their minds." The boy cried out.

"Indeed, they have." Elias mumbled.

Sienna narrowed her eyes. "Is this a trick? I am asking one last time because only a crazy person would ask to be hit. I don’t want to be arrested for assaulting the king’s nephew."

Sting puffed out his chest. My words have been heard by everyone hear so they will testify for you in case I try to lay blame at your feet. I watched you take down a fox beast woman with that pan. She bled! All I want to do is test it and your strength."

Sienna’s lips twitched. "It will hurt."

Sting laughed, throwing his right hand out dramatically. "I am a lion beast man! My body is practically invincible. Personally, I believe your pan is nothing more than a toy." He put a hand over his chest. "I swear, this won’t get back to the king. Now strike me!"

Mrs. Abernathy shook her head at Sienna.

Sienna sighed and walked down from the porch. A small crowd had gathered outside, looking on curiously. She raised her pan, and gave him a light tap on the shoulder. It made a small pitiful clang.

Sting smirked. "Is that all? I felt nothing at all."

Sienna’s eyes gleamed. "Oh, you want more?"

Ali clapped her hands. "More, mama! More!"

Sienna adjusted her grip. Years of playing baseball for fun and boxing had honed her targeting techniques to perfection. Even if this was no longer her original body she could still hit the right spots. The shin, the elbow, the ribs, just under the arm. Each of those places could cause excruciating pain. She swung.

CLANG! Right on the shin.

Sting’s eyes widened. "Ow--!" He bit his lips, refusing to cry out. The woman was out to cause as much damage as she could.

Sienna didn’t stop. She twirled the pan like a trained martial artists, striking the elbow. The she jabbed his ribs and kicked him between the legs. Sting doubled over, gasping.

He was not the only one gasping on shock.

Ali was the only one that was filled with praise for her mother. She rolled around on the ground, laughing so hard she hiccuped.

Sting got to his feet quickly. He staggered back, clutching his side and wincing. "Enough! I underestimated you. Clearly, you know how to choose where to hit." He had been expecting her to slam the pan on his chest and back, places that could handle the hit. Instead, she was playing dirty.

Sienna advanced, pan raised like a divine weapon. "No, no, you asked for this. You wanted to test my pan. How can I let you go without giving you a free and full demonstration."

He turned to run. She chased him around the yard, swinging with precision. Some strikes landed on a pressure point, while others hit the air. He roared, not in majesty but sheer panic and joy.

"Stop! I surrender. Have mercy!" he cried, sprinting towards the beach.

Sienna pursued, surprisingly resilient. "You said you could handle pain. How can you back out now?"

The lion beast man stripped on the steps, rolling onto the sand. Sienna descended with more care, laughing loudly. The guards wondered if it was time to intervene. Residents in the area, and all the people that had come to fish in the spot where Serena had caught the mer prince Silver Scale Fry peeked over their shoulders. Some turned around fully, Their jaws dropped at the sight of a big and tall lion beast man fleeing like a rabbit while Sienna chased him like a pan-wielding maniac.

"Is that...His royal Highness, Lord Sting?" One whispered.

"And that is Sienna with the pan, the one that has been trending on BeastNet." Another replied. "They say it is heavier than a mammoth and a gift from the Beast gods."

"Why is she beating up a royal? Doesn’t she know that it is forbidden?"

Sting collapsed in the sand, near the dock Elias’s men were building. He was panting and sweating, "I yield. Enough!"

Sienna stood over him, pan resting on her shoulder like a victorious warrior. "You did not run at full speed. Either that or you are all muscles and no speed." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

"The second one," Sting laughed. "Now that I have certified the strength of your pan, I will be leaving. Next time, I will not surrender so easily." He rose, waved and ran off in the direction of his flying ship.

Ali ran up, hugging Sienna’s leg. "Mama, you’re amazing! You made the bad lion beast man run away!"

Sienna flexed her biceps. "Remember Ali: never trust a man who says he can’t fell pain. They always can, you just need to find the right spot to twist."

Ali nodded eagerly, a determined look in her eyes. She was more attentive now than she had been during Mrs. Abernathy’s class as her mother showed her the spots.

Whether what she was learning from her mother was good or bad, would be left for the future to determine.
