Transmigrated with my corruption system-Chapter 85: Your Strength Is Mine
"T-this... I don’t understand," Aelira muttered, looking over the youth towering above her, confusion plastered across her face.
Since the beginning of the battle, she had been on top... all signs had led to her winning. To her, it was already impressive that he had lasted that long without sustaining any major injuries.
But this was far beyond her wildest imagination! One move and all of that had been reversed. And even more so, it had just been a poke of his fingers, and instantly after she felt the energy leave her body. What had he done?
The only possible conclusion was that he had found a glaring weakness in her battle style and attack where they all converged, leaving her open.
But that was... impossible! Aelira screamed mentally, unwilling to accept it as reality. To be able to do that was a hundred times more difficult than simply defeating her in direct combat. Meaning he had just been toying with her all this while.
Shaking her head, she gathered her energy once more, rising to her feet as she clutched the hammer tightly. As her eyes fell on the dark-robed youth, she couldn’t help but look at him in a different light.
Before snarking, "So what if you pushed me to the ground... that doesn’t mean you’ve won yet."
Clasping his hands behind his back, his crimson eyes lit up with a faint hue. And as the light of enlightenment receded from them, a faint smile stretched across his face.
"The only outcome for you in this battle is defeat," he muttered, confidence oozing from his voice, causing Aelira’s expression to twist further.
As she rushed up to him again, her eyes lit up in a splendiferous golden light as she utilized the full extent of her D-rank warrior art. Battle Strength Enhancement!
At the side, a part of the crowd’s eyes narrowed as they fell on a youth clad in a simple robe, clutching a bow as he slipped into a quiet daze.
"Haha... so that’s what you were doing," Kaiden muttered, ignoring the strange glances cast at him. The young lord wasn’t just dodging the battle... he was observing.
As for why? He got the answer soon enough.
When Lady Aelira charged at him again, an entirely different scene played out. This time, he didn’t dodge.
He counterattacked perfectly. And more than that, the longer he stared, the more his eyes constricted as the rest of his words caught in his throat.
Before her, Aelira was even more confused. This time, when she fought the youth, it was almost as if she was fighting a clone of herself, only far better and far more terrifying.
Every time she swung at him, he easily countered before striking structural flaws in her stance she had never perceived, sending her back to the ground.
The cycle repeated continuously, until it would only take a single move to defeat her and send her collapsing once more.
"Satisfied now?" Ulric muttered, watching her fall to the ground for the umpteenth time, her chest rising heavily as she struggled for breath.
He had analysed her battle style, refined it, and integrated it into himself. Then, combining it with his spiritual field, there was no possible way for her to win.
Still, his head nodded slightly as a flicker of recognition flared in her eyes. She was stubborn, battle spirit blazing within them. She had fought well, it was just too bad that her opponent had to be him.
Slipping out of her daze, Aelira forced herself to her feet for the umpteenth time as she looked at the dark-robed youth, her confusion having grown tenfold.
Before, she hadn’t wanted to believe it, but with every defeat, that terrifying realization pressed itself further into her mind. Others might not have known how she had lost, but now she could see it far clearer than before.
He had actually analysed her battle style and been able to find her weak spots. Something she had struggled to do for years in order to improve herself had been done effortlessly in mere seconds.
All of this combined made her eyes flutter in wonder. It all just felt... surreal. And for a moment, her vision flickered, reminded of those monstrous beings beyond Tempest City. Could he really rise to become just as strong as them?
Whatever the case, the mystery surrounding the youth intrigued her as she walked up to him, her piercing dark eyes staring straight into him, almost as if she wanted to uncover all his secrets.
At the side, as the crowd watched Lady Aelira stand in defeat against the young lord, murmurs erupted once more.
"It looks like the lord really won... I don’t understand how?"
"Hahaha, I never doubted him from the start!"
"Wait, aren’t you the person who said he was going to lose?"
"Wait, what? No... when did I say that? You must have misheard!"
"Impressive as always... there are truly no bounds that are insurmountable to the lord."
"If he can defeat Lady Aelira, does this mean he can defeat regular D-ranks this easily while still at E-rank... this is just monstrous." 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"The lord’s power seems to have grown yet again," Elder Rysten muttered, a smile carving across his wrinkles.
Before, it had taken him great effort to slay Orros. Yet now, when facing off against Aelira, a far stronger powerhouse, he seemed to have defeated her so easily.
"Was the visit to the dungeon really that helpful?" Aria muttered, twirling a strand of her silver hair. His strength had just grown so explosively.
Looking closer, her eyes blinked in surprise as she saw no injuries across his body.
The other elders’ heads nodded inadvertently as well, faint smiles breaking across their faces. They could tell Ulric had yet to use his full power, but even then he was able to dominate the battle.
At this pace of progression, it wouldn’t be long before he pushed the Greyson Residence to its former glory — and beyond.
Walking up to him, Aelira murmured teasingly, "Looks like you defeated me," she said, her hands moving to caress his body seductively.
Seeing no reaction from him, she harrumphed, a villainous glint appearing in her eyes.
"Aren’t you afraid I’ll suck you dry?" she muttered before breaking into a chuckle as she continued rambling. "I’ve never slept with a clan lord before... or an S-rank talent..."
Before she could continue, Ulric stopped her, sealing her lips with his fingers.
"A little sheep pretending to be a big bad wolf?" Ulric muttered as a devious smile stretched across his face.
"Huh? What’s that supposed to mean?" Aelira gasped, her eyes widening as she tried to take a step back, but Ulric held her in place. His crimson eyes pierced into hers.
"You’ve never slept with a clan lord... an S-rank talent. Matter of fact, you’ve never slept with anyone," he muttered, a glint of certainty in his eyes. "You are a virgin, aren’t you?"
"Huh? What nonsense are you saying? That’s not true," Aelira hurriedly muttered, but her body betrayed her.
The faint red tinge on her face deepened as she blushed furiously in embarrassment, her chest thumping rapidly as her eyes darted around nervously.
She wanted to deny it again, but seeing the convinced glint in his eyes, she finally relented as her breath grew heavy.
"H-how do you know?"
He opened his mouth, about to say he could smell it, before stopping himself. That was a little creepy.
But that didn’t matter now, as the smile on his face widened, watching her squirm beneath his gaze. The tables had been turned!
At the side, Lyra, who had watched part of the battle, stepped forward as her lips twitched faintly. Did he get kicks from teasing girls?
She mused before discarding the thought. This was no time for that, there was a more pressing issue.
Calling out to him, she watched him avert his attention toward her before she hurriedly muttered, "The cocoon is breaking. Amber is about to awaken."
