Chapter 609: People and secrets.

A few grudging ’sorry’ apologies were made by all three and thus the topic of the marriage of the third princess was ended.

For a few seconds, Scarlet closed her eyes and pretended to be sleeping. What she did was access the underworld forum and send a message to Frost. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

"Why didn’t you tell me that you want to marry someone I know? Anyway, congratulations she is open to the idea. I am rooting for you."

She opened her eyes just in time to witness Justin obtain a victory and then she joined everyone in applauding him.

Loudly, she clapped and cheered. "That’s it ba...Justin."

It was premature applauding as the final battle had yet to be won but nobody cared anyway. Justin had done excellently so far.

A female teacher matched into the room with a another child. A boy about Justin’s age, with dark hair and green oval shaped eyes. He had a slim face and very soft features. If this was not a boy’s only school, she could easily assume that it was a girl and not a boy.

"That is young lord Max Shiller, grandson of the duke Ingram Shiller. His father is a mecha warrior serving under Esong, one of the captains I believe." Mega said.

"And how do you know all this mother?" Scarlet asked her.

"I keep up with current affairs, you should try it sometime."

"I do keep up with current affairs, I watch the news." Scarlet told her.

"Real news Scarlet, not which noble was caught with their pants down in the wrong house or romance fanfictions about you and your husband on star net." her mother said.

Scarlet frowned after gasping in disbelief. Then she remembered that everyone here already knew how she spent her free time so she shrugged. She did watch the real news though, contrary to her mother’s wild presumptions.

There was one person everyone seemed to have forgotten about that was not a member of the two families, captain Zorl who had been inconspicuously silent for a long while. Most of the conversations had made it to his ears.

He looked at Scarlet in disbelief when he heard what Mega said. Is that what she was doing in her office when she claimed to be busy all the time? Or the weeks or days when she was missing, was she just relaxing and enjoying useless activities like that?

At the front, Justin’s final battle had already started and he was facing off against an opponent that was fluid and fast.

"She moves like a panther." Scarlet said.

Everyone was inclined to agree. Max Shiller was one talented young man. For every attack Justin made, he moved his limbs very acrobatically and dodged.

One thing did catch the attention of Etienne Wu and he blurted out, "She? Is that not a boy?"

"Boy, boy, it’s a boy. He is just very pretty." Scarlet hurried to clarify.

In reality, there was no mistake in Scarlet’s words. Max Shiller was not a boy, she was in fact a girl. What Scarlet couldn’t understand was how nobody in the school had noticed. It was an all boys school for heavens sake!! Didn’t they check before admitting the child or they just assumed no girl could dare to attend an all boys school?

"This is war Justin, show no mercy." she shouted.

Justin was not giving it his all. Scarlet guessed that it was because he had figured out the same thing she had. Nothing much got past his eyes ever since he was blessed by the god of deceit.

"You are right, he is androgynous." Carolyn said. She turned to Elroy and said, "Just like you when we were children. Sometimes, I actually told my friends that you were my little sister instead of brother."

Carolyn laughed fondly at those memories. Markay accompanied her in laughing.

She scrolled through childhood images of them on her terminal while muttering, "I still have pictures of you from ages one to ten. You were just so pretty back then, so adorable. Why did you have to grow up and ruin it?"

Elroy scowled at her. "It’s called becoming a man."

The third princess turned around to look at the pictures and then she and Carolyn giggled along with whoever else was at the back.

"I see why you used to call them the blonde twins now." The princess said.

"You see it too, right?" Carolyn’s voice carried happiness because she had found another person that validated the truth which Elroy hated.

"It’s still there." The princess said.

She looked from Elroy to Fey and compared their facial structures. This was made easy by the fact that they were sitting next to each other.

Scarlet had two ears on the conversation at the the back and two eyes on Justin, rapidly following his every move. When he pinned Max to the floor, the dean declared his victory.

Like a proud mama, Scarlet jumped up and clapped. "That’s it baby, you are the best. Mwah, mwah, mwah." Along with her praises were accompanying loud flying kisses.

Behind her, Mega shoved a hand at Beord. "I told you it wouldn’t last. Calling him baby is in-built within her. Pay up."

It was just Beord that had to pay up, most of them had to pay her as well. They had made a bet on how long it would take until Scarlet addressed Justin as baby again.

After his victory, the dean, Esong and Justin moved to his office where Justin was given his uniform, a school tablet with school rules and regulations. He was assigned a class and given a lesson plan, time table and text books. In addition to this, he was also assigned a dorm room and given a key. Not that he would be living on school grounds anytime soon because of his age but on some days, depending on the school program it would be required.

"Governor, the lady governor" Dean Laroix called and specified when two people turned to face him. "I would appreciate it if you do not address our student with nicknames and pet names or any other name apart from his legal true name on school grounds."

"I have taken note of that dean Laroix." She replied.

"Also, I know that family relationships are important but there is no need to carry everyone along with you for school events." he added.

"Yes sir." she answered.

The dean handed her a tablet as well and he said, "This is used for parent-teacher and school communications. It also has the rules and regulations for parents to follow when they are on school grounds too. We recently updated our dress code section, I think it will do you some good to take a look at it."

Scarlet sighed and nodded.

"One more thing." The dean said.

"Yes."

"If it’s not too much trouble, might I request for an autograph?"

Scarlet’s jaw dropped.

"It’s not for me. My wife is a very big fan." he rushed to add.

Justin shook his head. The dean had told a lie.

"Of course." Scarlet signed two chef hats which the dean conveniently had laying around in his office and then bid the dean farewell.

Everyone could now head back to the castle for a feast, including Jelly and an unwilling Zorl.

The minute they entered the car Justin eagerly told his mother, "Mommy, Max is a girl and the dean is your fan."

She rubbed his head and said, "I know. But we can’t tell anyone."

People were entitled to their secrets.
