Severus wanted to tell Scarlet but she had slept off by the time he concluded his realizations and solidified his theory. The hound figured then, that it could wait. Tomorrow, he would tell her.

When morning came, they were not woken up by any rising suns or chirping birds. The sound of hammering coming from somewhere inside the space ship was what got everyone to rise.

An exhausted Scarlet groaned unhappily and pulled the covers of the bed up to block out the pounding noise. Not only was it annoying but it was also frighteningly loud. To her ears, it almost sounded like thunder roaring on a rainy night.

The warm blanket which she covered over her head didn’t work and she was forced to open her exhausted eyes.

"Oh-hooo." she sat up and threw the covers aside. "Make it stop."

"Or block it out using your powers." Severus suggested.

The hound had slept besides her all night, staying by her side because it had news to share. Scarlet yawned, and looked within herself. Her soul power had increased which meant that it was merging with the flame.

She released a bit of her flame and it emerged fiercely, burning hotter and brighter than before. Quickly, she put it away so as not to waste even the littlest bit. She needed every bit for her training.

"It’s good that you are awake now." Severus came around and grew his body to reach her eyes. He desired all of her attention. "I have some news."

Scarlet pushed the large hound’s head away.

"You don’t need to be so close to me to talk. I don’t know what you ate last night but that is some awful morning breath."

She looked out of the window and noticed the never ending darkness. It was just the same as it had been when she went to sleep. Her eyes moved to the virtual clock above her door. It was definitely morning, eight according to it. It meant that she had managed to get in five hours of sleep.

"Not enough." she groaned.

"We don’t have time for this, listen to me." Severus roared.

Scarlet’s face twisted in disgust as she ended up with hound spit on her face. She waved her hand over her face and got rid of it with her powers.

"That’s so gross Seby, bad boy."

Severus was frustrated because Scarlet’s mind was so scattered that she couldn’t seem to focus. He was certain that she was about to go in search of Justin without listening to him. Instead of waiting for her to settle down, he decided to blurt it out at once. "Your human husband is not human."

Scarlet stared at Severus. Had a screw in his mind come loose? Of all the reckless allegations to make why bring this one? Hadn’t this suspicion died a natural death after all the tests by the deities?

"You have been wondering why the bond is not working. It’s because he is not human, not fully." he said.

He could see the disbelief in her eyes and knew that she doubted him. So, he went on further in order to clear up all the confusion.

"Esong is Nyx, I am certain of it as I have ever been of anything in my life. Tell me with absolute certainty that you haven’t seen his red eyes. It was already abnormal that he has eyes as black as a dark abyss but the red....." he shook his head. "There is only one reaper with red eyes. Think about it Scarlet, the hypnosis which refused to work, the underworld food which never affected him, not even the succubus could seduce him. And your friend Frost, the reverence he has for Esong. What grim reaper would respect a human that much?"

Everything that Severus said, Scarlet’s mind added her own little things that she had noticed. Like the way her energy crystals kept getting depleted at irrational speeds when he was around or the way he sometimes talked as if he hadn’t seen her for ages and yet they had been together all day.

"Humans!!" she gasped and exclaimed. "He once said humans will never understand how good they have it." She stood up and started pacing around. "It wasn’t just what he said, but the way he said it. He spoke in a way we talk about humans, as if we are not a part of them. Like we live in a separate world from them. Severus nodded, excited to see that they were on the same page. "Yes, yes, and Carnelia is always talking Nyx up to you. Lythia used to stop him but she suddenly stopped and joined Carnelia out of the blue, advocating for him. My father too, he kept asking about you."

Scarlet sat down and put both of her hands on top of her head. "Lythia said he was protecting me." She whispered. "They knew, they all knew and they didn’t say anything to me."

"I bet Flan knows too." Severus said.

"And Lanta probably. Frost is a definite yes, he told me to tell Esong about Ramslin but I just laughed." She looked at Severus in disbelief. "We are the only ones that didn’t know. My God, the entire underworld probably knows."

She couldn’t help thinking that perhaps this was why those warrior reapers came seeking her out to make amends. They were afraid of Nyx, he was their top leader after all, second to Carnelia.

"That son of a bitch!!!" she shouted angrily.

She clenched her fists and the wings abruptly exited her back. Scarlet screamed again and Severus created a shield blocking out both the sound and power in her scream.

"Oh I am gonna kill him, then I am gonna kill Frost and everybody else. How could they do this to me? I have been losing my mind because I thought he was on his way to his grave in that unknown world but he is a fucking reaper. How could he not say anything to me even when I was crying?" She asked in a deep voice containing much rage.

This was a betrayal, a huge betrayal. They had been together for more than a year and he said nothing. He played human and acted ignorant about everything that she did.

Did he laugh at her when she tried to hypnotize him? And the children, he definitely knew about them and he said nothing. She had been racking her mind in search of solutions to protect their children on her own. They could have discussed the matter together if she knew who...what he was. How long did he intend to keep the secret? Had he planned to lie to her about it for the rest of their lives?

The more questions she asked herself, the angrier she got. She threw a fist out and broke the barrier which Severus had created. She was ready to teleport to that space crack now.

"Let’s go right now. I am going to kick his ass from here to the moon and then back. I will..."

"Stop!!" Severus roared out. "Think about your son before burning this ship down or teleporting in search of him when you are supposed to be hiding from the deities."
