Chapter 639: Baby’s sharp eyes.

Scarlet stepped away from the common area and went to the kitchen. This conversation would be better if she had the parfait she had been craving for a while now.

"If you are not too tired, make me one as well." Lythia lazily instructed her.

"You have hands and powers, can’t you just conjure one up?" Scarlet replied.

Lythia looked Alix up and down, and then she said. " You are new to this powers thing so you are using it for everything. The humans call someone like you new money. In this case it’s not money so you are new power."

She could sense it all over Scarlet, from her hair, eyes to the dress she had on under that thick cloak. It was energy, strong suffocating energy that was being contained in a small vessel.

Lythia was undoubtedly curious about what Scarlet had encountered in these past months but it was undeniable that her questions would go unanswered. The information was locked up tight in the vault which was Scarlet’s mind.

"What did you mean by me finding trouble earlier? It’s what you said when you sat down?"

Scarlet slid a glass of yogurt and fruit parfait to the deity.

She sat down in a bean bag that was used only by her in the kitchen and dug into hers.

"You managed to find a rare world, one that belongs to the goddess of injustice. I thought you were passing by not intending to land and have dinner with them."

"I didn’t have any dinner with them. If I stayed they would have become my dinner." Scarlet replied. "But, injustice! I haven’t seen that on the list of active deities. Why would a goddess of injustice exist in the first place?"

She was certain that Carana had said one of the gods they worshipped was the goddess of justice. How had things then turned around, made a whole one-eighty and become the opposite?

"I told you once, for every deity that exists, there is an opposite. Light has darkness, life has death, chaos has peace, deceit has truth, love has hate...." It seemed like Lythia was planning to mention all of the deities.

"So justice has injustice." Scarlet completed the cycle by going directly to the deity they were discussing.

Lythia nodded. Severus showed up in the kitchen and both women looked at the hound.

"I thought I smelled something good." He sniffed the air.

"I got this." Lythia told Scarlet.

She replicated the parfait in her hands, producing a whole lot more than was necessary and gave Severus some in a large plastic jar. "Where were we?" She asked Scarlet.

"You were about to explain to me how Xeno became the world of the goddess of injustice." Scarlet said.

Severus lifted his head for a second as understanding came to him. This explained the soul feeders and everything else.

Lythia finished off one parfait and got another. Her lips did not stop moving as she explained. "The goddess of injustice, or Mara as she is commonly known among us goes around with the god of hate. They both lurk around the corners of soon to be condemned worlds that still have a lot of time. As soon as the deity of that world abandons it, they swoop in and claim it.

It’s the only way they get their own worlds. If they were allowed to have their own special worlds imagine what would happen. Everyone would kill each other in a year or two and that would be it. A waste of souls."

"So she stole or claimed a world that belonged to who, justice or forests?"

Scarlet was very interested in knowing the history of Xeno an why it was the way it was.

"Mommy, who are you talking to?"

From where she was, Scarlet had not noticed Justin coming in. It slipped her mind that Justin could detect lies and she went with her usual answers.

"No one baby, I am watching a movie."

He walked closer, stood in front of her and then crossed his small arms across his chest. He looked like a disappointed parent as he shook his head.

"You are lying." mommy.

Scarlet folded her lips together and stared at Lythia. She almost blamed the female deity for Justin’s super lie detecting abilities but she had approved when the deities were blessing him. The only one here to blame was her.

"I am talking to a friend." she replied.

Justin tilted his head to the left, observed her some more and then he nodded.

He seemed to accept her response even though he could not see the friend she was speaking to. If Scarlet could read his mind, she would hear him think.

"Mommy has an imaginary friend even though she is grown up." That thought was followed by a sigh.

He squeezed himself besides her and touched her stomach. His little face lit up when one of the babies moved. This usually happened when he touched her belly. Justin liked to brag that it was the special way of the babies greeting him.

He never overdid it however because he had seen her wincing her once and he thought it caused her pain. So, he retreated his hand and looked up at her.

"I want to eat that mommy, please."

Scarlet got a spoon from her storage space and Lythia refilled Scarlet’s glass to the brim. Justin watched with wide eyed innocence, not quite understanding what was going on.

"We can share." she told him.

Justin leaned against her arm, settled in with a smile and joined. Scarlet meanwhile decided to resume her conversation. Justin already knew that she was speaking to someone so she might as well keep talking.

"Justice, or Injustice on Xeno, how does it happen?" she asked Lythia.

The goddess shrugged and the conversation re-started as she helped herself to more parfait, her third glass. "The men of Xeno were not always weak as they are now. There was a time when they were invisibly strong. Much stronger than the mecha warriors on your world. In fact, if your mecha warrior’s even dared to take on the old men of Xeno, they would be stomped and crushed like weak little ants.

The men of Xeno were mostly descended from the first ancient tribes, direct descendants of children of gods and humans.

You call them demi gods." She looked at Scarlet and nodded. She could remember those men quite vividly, they were some of the first and original barbarians. "They were brutal, like beasts. Of course, this was in due to part to some of them being descended from actual beasts.

They had strength the likes of which most humans will never know. Their aggressiveness and thirst for blood knew no bounds.

They plundered many worlds, slaughtered millions, conquered continents and caused so much grief. The women bore the brunt of their aggressiveness. They were beaten, raped, killed and treated less like humans for so long that they cried out intensely, wailing of their pain and anguish. Their cries were the the kind which the goddess of justice could not ignore so she abandoned Xeno and it’s men. "
