Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife-Chapter 661: Deceitful friendly faces.

The life angel looked agitated, angry even because this meant Nyx had been on to him this whole time. He looked at Scarlet’s stomach and his mind calculated how far along she was. Sooner or later, Nyx would have to re-surface which meant Esong would resurface. It was of no use staying on this dead world anymore.

He had smelled deity shortly after they arrived and he was aware that one of them had cleared out the mutated beasts. He just didn’t anticipate that Esong would by chance be part of their plans.

This meant their side was too late and the underworld gods possibly took him. But, if they did then why was Scarlet unaware?

Their was a gap somewhere in their communication and he wondered if it could be exploited to benefit their side.

He looked at Scarlet and smiled. "Look, I am not your enemy. You and I are on the same side, the one which wants Esong alive and well. You would not be here if you didn’t love your husband greatly. Why don’t we work together...."

"Oh my God he sounds just like Ramslin." Severus groaned out.

"Sly and stupid." Scarlet said.

The life angel did not take any offense to what they said. He did not expect her to come around quickly but he would keep trying. The god of life would reward him more if he brought home the grand prize, five babies that could walk between two realms. One of them an actual rumored immortal prophet. If the prophet was one of them, wouldn’t the realm of life have the greatest number of human believers?

Scarlet could see all the scheming in his eyes and she scoffed. She raised her hand and hit him on the head with the hammer again. Grimm took advantage of her actions to push his claws into Folsom’s body and the life angel cried out in pain.

"Body, human body." Severus moved from Scarlet to Grimm. "What the hell is wrong with both of you?" He looked at Blaze and pointed to Folsom. "Heal him."

Blaze huffed and reluctantly healed Folsom. All the hounds hated it but the human had to be saved or else Scarlet would be in trouble. If it was just a life angel, they would set it on fire and walk away.

Scarlet shoved him and asked, "What’s your name and where is Folsom, the real Folsom?"

The life angel smiled snidely. "Wouldn’t you like to know?" He winked and added, "I will tell you my name if you tell me your secret."

"Burn him." Scarlet told Grimm.

"No." Severus yelled.

Even then Grimm’s mouth was already open. From the depths of his stomach, he preparing a red flaming hot ball of flames. Severus did not wait around for the the very human Folsom’s body to be burned and he tackled Grimm.

He had forgotten about Blaze, however, another idiot that was ready and willing to show off his own yellow flames to Scarlet. Where Grimm stopped, he started. But before he could succeed, Shadowpaw tackled him the same way Severus had tackled Grimm.

"Stop it." he growled.

"She said to burn him." Blaze fought against Shadowpaw, desperate to burn something.

Folsom was watching the hounds curiously, studying them as if he was taking a secret class on them. Scarlet was not sure why but she didn’t like it. This life angel was a vey calculative individual and he was looking for her weak point.

"Severus, fellas, call it off. Let’s not show outsiders the inner workings of our family. You never know what can be used against us."

The hounds fell in and returned to neutral status.

The life angel yawned and rolled his eyes. "Boring. Anyway, are we about to wrap this up because Folsom needs to get back to the men. He came up with this wonderful plan to treat the abominations of this world and then bring them home. They are descendants of your Sun people after all."

Scarlet looked at him as if he was an idiot and she said, "We are not wrapping anything up, you have to...."

"He is gone." Shadowpaw said loudly.

Scarlet was sure that he was mistaken, he was still right there. Then, she noticed that he was frozen still in his sitting position.

Scarlet looked over Folsom’s body and shook his head. "The life angel in him has gone to sleep. If you try to force him out then you will injure the soul. At this point, even beating up the body is useless because it’s the human that will suffer the pain. Let’s just return him to where we found him."

"He flew here, why can’t he fly himself back?" she asked.

Grimm lifted the body unwillingly while Severus explained, "Because life angels are bastards, especially the ones who are willing to live within human bodies. If he has no use for the human, he will abandon the body which will lead to the death of his host. They don’t value or take care of their host bodies like grim reapers. Now that we know who he is, he could easily decide to leave Folsom out here to die and find a new host which we definitely don’t want to happen. In Folsom’s body we can keep track of him as much as possible. If he finds a new host, it will take time to discover him again."

They teleported back to the tent and found the scene the same way they had left it. Everything was still frozen.

"How did you figure out who he is anyway?" Severus asked her.

They had known him for more than a year now and not even once had he given himself away. He was so good at hiding deeply that even he, a hound could not sniff him out. He had to be one of the most powerful life angels in his realm. Severus doubted a little if Nyx had figured it out as well.

Scarlet looked at Folsom’s frozen face and she shook her head in disbelief. What had just happened was so unreal. The Blue star really had deep water. One never knew what they might find if they looked hard enough. How many like him were hiding around her or Esong?

She needed to begin testing everyone for the extent of their humanity otherwise, even her family members would be hijacked. Maybe this was why so many life angels were taking regular trips to the Blue star. Perhaps they were looking for human hosts too.

"For real, how did you know that he is not human?" Severus repeated his question.

Scarlet thought the answer was obvious but she answered it anyway. "Because, if Esong could communicate with anyone, he would choose me not Folsom. Even if it was not me, it would be Markay or Ian before Folsom."

Even in friendships, there were levels and ranks. Some friends were closer than others and in that group, Markay, Ian and Cedric came before Folsom on Esong’s ranking of friends. It was amazing that he had fooled everyone for as long as he had.

Then again, she had only noticed because she was aware of the Nyx connection otherwise, she would have been in the dark until the day he came with a friendly face to check on her babies and then vanished with one or all of them.
