"Wait, wait, wait." Carolyn jumped to her feet and waved her hands around wildly. She looked at her mother and sister, wondering if she had heard them right. "When did she try to get a divorce from Esong?"

She sat down on the bed and grabbed Scarlet by the shoulders, "What is mother talking about? I would know if you asked for a divorce. That’s the kind of thing you share with your older sister that has been watching out for you for a long time, long before you learned to wipe your own ass."

Mega took Carolyn’s hands off Scarlet’s shoulders.

"Be careful, your sister has just given birth, her body is too delicate for you to be manhandling."

"Shouldn’t it be womanhandling?" Fey mumbled.

"Mother," Carolyn called out in a raised voice. "Does it matter if I manhandle her body right now when she is talking about divorce? Wait, is this why the two of you have been calling the babies, Su?" She gasped and stood up, pacing back and forth. "Cahoots, you have been in cahoots. Oh, the empress is going to murder me."

Scarlet watched with amused and bored eyes as her sister freak out, panicking and almost sending herself into unnecessary shock over nothing. She could do nothing but wait for the freak out to end and then she would explain.

Her mother on the other hand would not be waiting that long. She used of the baby towels to swat Carolyn on the buttocks.

"Crazy, who here is in cahoots? Is your memory failing you? Back then, you were not exactly on speaking terms with your sister so how could she come out and and tell you that she wanted a divorce. And it’s in the past not present."

Mega nodded, "Mmm, it is you."

"I am Carolyn." She said.

Mega was confused. Was anyone in this room unaware of Carolyn’s identity?

"Does Adler know that you wanted to divorce Esong?"

When Carolyn was asking this question, the door to the room slid open. It was silent, and didn’t alert the people in the room that were all focused on a single individual on the bed.

Carolyn answered her own question at this point. "Of course he knows, Adler knows everything about you. He probably encouraged you to get a divorce, right?"

Two nurses were standing outside and when they heard what was being discussed, they backed away and the door slid shut again.

They rushed away and entered the nearest bathroom in order to discuss what they had just heard. It was too juicy of news not to discuss and this little discussion of theirs was the beginning of a wild fire.

Back in Scarlet’s hospital room meanwhile, Carolyn received another swat on the butt and this time it was from the back of Mega’s hand and it caused some pain to Carolyn who howled in pain.

"Mother, why do you keep hitting me as if I am a child? I am a princess, the crown princess. Do you know what people will think if they know that I still get my butt slapped by mother when she thinks I am misbehaving? And it hurts, by the way. You keep treating Scarlet as if she is so precious but treat me as if I am garbage." she complained while rubbing her sore butt.

"There she goes, speaking nonsense again." Mega muttered. "If I don’t hit your butt will you listen to me? Stop talking about past irrelevant things before you cause misunderstandings."

Carolyn was like a petulant toddler that was seeking for justice as she pointed at Scarlet and said, "Then why did she raise the issue on divorce? She started it first. Hit her buttocks too."

Mega rolled her eyes and set out to fold the baby towel, ignoring the whiny princess of their family.

"So, what happened to stop the divorce from going through?" Fey askes.

Their mother groaned, a deep sound of disapproval that came from her throat.

"We have to know mother, you can’t stop the curiosity no matter how many ass slaps you give us." Fey told her. "I am really curious." She looked at Scarlet curiously and added, "You were obsessed with him, acting as if you would die without him. You didn’t care about anything but him so what made you decide that you had had enough."

Scarlet didn’t even have to think about the answer to that question.

"Easy, Justin. I didn’t want him to see me in a bad place anymore. I wanted to be a better mother to him and my toxic non existent relationship with Esong was keeping me from being a good mom. Besides, Esong didn’t come around much back then, he hated me which affected his relationship with Justin in turn. I thought that if I got a divorce, at least Justin could have a father-son relationship even though I wasn’t in the picture."

Carolyn and Fey were astonished. They stared at her in disbelief. It sounded like she had given the issue a lot of thought, deep thought at that before deciding that she wanted to divorce. Did this mean that she had gone so far as to bring the issue up with Esong himself?

"When you have children of your own, you will realize it then, that you would do almost anything possible to make them happy. If I have to divorce for the happiness of my children, I would it. You can always find another man but your children, they can’t be replaced."

Scarlet was suddenly whacked over the head with a pillow. When she looked up, she saw her mother seething with anger in her eyes.

"Are you crazy? You can always find another man!" Mega put her hands on her waist and rolled her eyes. "Are they like candy lined up on the street waiting for you to pick up? For your information, there is a difference between a good man and a random man. You should come to your senses and make wise decisions." She looked at her daughters with stern eyes. "All of you."

They turned their heads away from her and thought about the men they had chosen. Fey especially was uncomfortable since Lloyd was still her man of choice. When the day came that he officially made his intentions known, things could go either positively or negatively.

Carolyn on the other hand was totally okay. "My man is the crown prince. I believe that I made a wise decision. Talk to these two."

"Should I remind you of the day we went horse riding?" Scarlet asked her.

She was bragging when she almost cancelled her engagement. What was she bragging about?

"Don’t get on the bad side of this princess or I will have you thrown in prison." Carolyn huffed and folded her arms across her chest. She sat down on the bed again.

Scarlet tilted her head searching for Fey. When their eyes met she asked, "When did this cougar start bragging so much?"

"Cougar!!" Carolyn exclaimed.

"You are engaged to a younger man." Scarlet reminded her.

Carolyn picked up a pillow to start from where Mega had stopped in hitting Scarlet on her hand. Before she could succeed, their mother whacked her instead.

"I told you that your sister is delicate right now." She shouted at her.

"But you just hit her too." Carolyn whined. This was a double standard.

The babies were startled awake and crying resumed.
