Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife-Chapter 706: The first white wedding in history.
Chapter 706: The first white wedding in history.
They all held their breath collectively and waited for Carolyn to step out. Some like Fey and Cecily had their fingers crossed. The wedding was already upon them. If the bride didn’t choose a dress, the empress was ready to force one on her which would not go down well.
So they hoped desperately that this was it. As long as Carolyn said yes, she would make a lot of people in the empire that were involved in the wedding planning happy.
Carolyn stepped out of the dressing room slowly, like a vision of an angel in white. On her body was a plain white free flowing dress with a plunging neckline and long mermaid tail. Light see through lace covered her arms up to the wrists. Shimmering white pearls had been sown into the lace, over the chest and they reduced as around the middle and increased towards the bottom.
Her hair was bundled up in a messy bun and a white pearly crown with one light gold gem held it together.
Just as everyone was nervous, she was too, even more.
She looked at her family with hopeful eyes that held some anxiety as she waited for their reaction. Was this the dress or would she have to go back to the drawing table?
"What do you think?" she asked.
The first response came from Mega who broke into an ugly cry and turned around, burying her face in her husband’s chest.
"Dang sis." Elroy said, and she whistled. He sounded impressed.
"If you say no to this dress then we should just call off the entire wedding." Adler said.
Mega raised her head from Dorian’s chest and she glared at Adler.
"Sorry mom," Adler noticed the glare and gestured that he was keeping his mouth shut.
"A fairy, older sister looks like a fairy." Excited, Halley shouted.
"Fairies are not real." Gregor told her in that typical annoying know it all voice of an older brother.
"Yes they are, i saw one in sister Scarlet’s house, daddy saw it too." The little girl turned to Dorian with fierce eyes. Her small fists were clenched as she sought his help. "Tell him daddy, fairies are real."
"Of course my dear, they are real." Dorian replied. He shrugged because he had no idea if fairies were real.
He assumed that Halley had playing with the angel toys for the babies. Some of them did have wings which had been ripped apart in different ways.
"Forget the fairies, look at that dress. I can never go wrong." Scarlet smirked, and bragged. "Turn around and show them the back."
Mega left her position and waved her hands before Carolyn could do that. She shooed her back into the walk in closet urgently. "No, no, this is the dress, okay. We have finally picked a dress and nobody needs to see it before the big day."
"I think that refers to the groom." Fey raised her voice and reminded Mega. The doors leading to the walk in closet were shut loudly. They seemed to be telling Fey that her opinion didn’t matter much and nobody was seeing the dress again until the day of the wedding.
It was actually lucky for everyone that Mega ushered Carolyn away because Illa had taken a few steps towards her unnoticed, captivated by the pearls.
Lora looked at the doors and she said softly, "I think we got married a little too soon."
Seeing Carolyn in that beautiful white wedding gown made her think about the yellow dress she had worn on the day of her own wedding. She likened her own wedding dress to a simple ordinary summer dress. Scarlet had been right when she told her that a special dress makes the day feel even more special.
"We can get married again. I will ask the Lady governor to get you an even more beautiful white dress." Tion whispered to her.
Lora rolled her eyes, thinking to herself that her husband was ridiculous. There was no way Scarlet would be distributing white wedding dresses that were more beautiful than those of her sister, the crown princess.
"I don’t think i have ever seen a wedding dress this white. Is this why you called it a white wedding Scarlet?" Cecily asked, a little confused.
"Mmm. Isn’t it lovely?" Scarlet replied.
Chiwa broke into a high pitched wail before Scarlet could get a proper response. She went into mothering mode as Lanta handed her the baby.
The baby was not hungry and she had not pooped. She was neither hot nor sleepy, all she wanted was to be carried by her mother. She calmed down as soon as Scarlet held her.
"Can we pop the champagne now?" Elroy asked. He was already taking a champagne bottle out of his storage bracelet. "The wedding is on people, it’s on and we better have an awesome after party planned."
"Is there a plan for a bachelorette party ladies?" Beord asked.
Everyone accepted a glass of champagne from Elroy with the exception of Scarlet. Two of her babies were still willing to breastfeed and she would stay at it until the last one rejected breast milk.
"She doesn’t want one or need it." Scarlet replied and stood up. "Everyone that wants ice cream cake should follow me to the dining room."
"Woo-hooo!" Gregor cheered.
Everyone moved to Scarlet’s dining room, where they continued to make smaller adjustments and add plans to the first white wedding in the history of the empire. Just like Cecily, they did assume that the reason why Scarlet called it white was because of the dress and decorations which were also white.
Unlike before, when planning Carolyn’s engagement had brought up some unresolved feelings in Scarlet, this time round, she was surprisingly okay.
She had come to the realization that she and Esong had to start from scratch now. Anything resembling a wedding had to be saved for the future. For now, healing, starting over being good parents and being happy was just enough.
When they left, Scarlet armed herself to go out collecting souls. She was the only reaper on the Blue star still as Ramslin’s weird disappearance continued. Thinking of him made her wonder what Esong had to say about it as Frost had probably mentioned it to him.
Scarlet: My wonderful magic has struck again. With the help of the god of the seas, I have gifted Carolyn the perfect wedding dress. I would share a picture but you will need to look surprised and impressed when you see it.
Markay had better shed a few tears when he sets his groom eyes on her that day. If he doesn’t, feel free to pinch him as hard as you can to encourage a positive response.
I have been meaning to ask you for a while, is Ramslin’s disappearance your handwork? I think the old deity hasn’t assigned another reaper to the Sun star because you are a reaper too. Meanwhile, I am overwhelmed with old souls and new souls.
The demons and monsters too are returning in double numbers. Wisdom is still putting in order all the affairs which he hasn’t handled in the last one hundred years in his realm so we are still on the back burner.
Not that i want Ramslin back but i would like to have some peace of mind without worrying if he will pop out of the shadows in search of revenge because i gave him up to the deities for dealing star dust.
Xoxo..
