Fu Mingze sighed as the children looked at him with puppy eyes. He looked at his son and asked "So you entered the middle of the road just so you could help her pick her doll?"

Fu Liang nodded and said "It was showing the green light so I thought it was safe, I didn’t expect that car to still drive on a green light. Daddy, can we go home now?"

Fu Mingze took them back into the restaurant after they finished crying and ordered a glass of juice for them. While the little girl clung to her doll, Fu Liang clung to the ice cream and snacks his dad had bought for him.

Fu Mingze looked at the little girl that has not stopped staring at him and asked "What’s your name and where are your parents?"

The little girl hugged her doll more tightly and said "My name is Tao Mei."

"Tao Mei? And how old are you?" Fu Mingze asked.

Tao Mei brought two of her fingers forward, before quickly adding one more fingers.

"You are three years old?" Fu Mingze asked looking at the girl’s finger.

Tao Mei shook her head and said "I’m three and a half years old."

Fu Mingze was amused by her intelligence and said "You know, not many children your age can tell how old they are, you must be very intelligent."

Tao Mei nodded and said, "I must have gotten my intelligence from my dad, my mom is very talented but she isn’t that brilliant."

Fu Mingze laughed and asked, "And where is your dad?"

Tao Mei’s countenance fell at the mention of her dad and she said "I don’t know. Mom said she is both my mom and dad, but how can she be when she is only one person."

Fu Mingze smiled when he saw the confusion on the girl’s face and asked in return "Why can’t it be? Your mom has been the one who has been taking care of you and providing for you so she is indeed your mom and dad."

"So she didn’t lie to me?"

Fu Mingze shook his head and said "She didn’t."

"Are you his dad?" Tao Mei asked as she pointed at Fu Liang who was just looking at his father.

Fu Mingze nodded and said, "I’m his dad."

Tao Mei’s face brightened as she asked "Will you be my dad as well?"

Before Fu Mingze could reply, a loud "No" was already heard.

Both Fu Mingze and Tao Mei turned to look at Fu Liang who had been quiet until recently.

"My dad is only my dad and I don’t like sharing." Fu Liang replied with a pout.

Tao Mei sniffled and was about to cry when she heard Fu Mingze’s voice saying "Just till your guardian comes, I will be your dad."

"I disagree, she isn’t even my sister so why should you be her dad!" Fu Liang complained.

"Then why don’t you see her your sister just for today?" Fu Mingze replied gently to his son. The reason he agreed for Tao Mei to call him dad, was because the little girl reminded him of his Meiyi. He could swear that if Yang Meiyi had a daughter then she would have looked just like Tao Mei.

Fu Liang looked at Tao Mei and decided to accept the girl as his little sister just for today, after all, she was cute and for the first time, and maybe the last he would be called big brother.

With that in mind, Fu Liang puffed up his chest and said to Tao Mei "From now, you have to call me big brother, understand?"

Tao Mei nodded and said with a huge smile on her face "Big brother."

Fu Mingze smiled when he saw the proud look on Fu Liang’s face from being called a big brother and said "Do you have the number of your guardian?"

Tao Mei shook her head.

"Then what about your mom, what is her name?"

"Mom isn’t around. My mom is busy designing cool clothes for people."

"So she is a fashion designer?" Fu Mingze asked with a smile. His heart aches at Yang Meiyi who died before she could fulfill her dream.

Tao Mei nodded as she said, "My mom is the best designer there."

"So tell me, what company does she work for so that I will be able to contact her."

Tao Mei pouted her lips as she asked "Can you please call my grandpa instead, if Mom finds out that I ran away from my nanny then she will scold me a lot."

Fu Mingze looked at Fu Liang who was patting his new sister’s head and muttered to himself "What’s with kids and them running away from their nanny these days?"

He turned his attention back to Tao Mei and said "Fine, what’s your grandfather’s name, I’m sure I will be able to find him with just his name."

"My grandfather’s name is Tao Hui."

"Tao Hui? Your grandfather is the chairman of Tao Corporation?"

Tao Mei looked at her new dad with her big eyes and asked "What is a Tao Corporation?" 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Fu Mingze chuckles and says "It’s a big company and it’s a good thing I know your grandfather. Give me a few minutes and I will get your grandfather to come get you. In the meantime, don’t leave each other side, okay?"

Both children nodded and said, "Yes Daddy!"

Fu Mingze felt a feeling he could not explain in his heart when he heard both of them calling him their father, he smiled softly and left the restaurant to call Tao Corporation.

After the call, Fu Mingze went back inside and was surprised to see Fu Liang playing with Tao Mei. For someone hesitant to get a sister, he quickly got into the big brother role.

He wondered if he and Yang Meiyi would have had another kid by now, would it have been another boy or a little girl? He missed her so much, in fact a day has never gone by without him thinking of her. If Fu Liang wasn’t in his life then he would gone to her a long time ago.
