’The number you are calling cannot be reached’

These were the words Yang Meiyi had been hearing when she dialed Ma Xin’s number. It has been two days now and there have been no words from her friend not even a text message. She must go to the police, maybe they will be able to find out who her mysterious journalist is.

Yang Meiyi took a cab to the police and called Fu Mingze. The moment he answered the call, she said "I’m going to the police station, can we meet there."

"Police station? Why? Did something happen?" Fu Mingze asked in concern.

"It’s been two days now and Ma Xin isn’t picking up my call. She once sent me a text saying she is alright but when I tried to call, it still didn’t go through. I’m scared something might have happened to her."

"Where did she say she was going?"

"To meet a journalist who is also her lover. The worst part is that she never told me his name no matter how much I asked. I feel like a horrible friend. Mingze, she will be fine, right?"

"Yes, she will be fine. While you go to the police, I will ask Xia Lian to find out who this journalist is. Meiyi, we will find her, okay"

Yang Meiyi nodded as she replied "Okay."

Within fifteen minutes, Yang Meiyi arrived at the police station, and the memory of the last time she had been there hit her. She clenched her fist as she remembered how the police had called her saying, they had finally caught her mother’s killer, she remembered how she had stabbed the man with a small pocket knife. Even now she regrets her actions, she should never have just stabbed that man with a knife, she should have made him lose a finger or two as well. It is the least she could have done to a man who took her mothe away from her.

Yang Meiyi unclenched her hands as she thought of how nothing could be done now, at least Fu Mingze had ensured that he would never get out of jail, not even on good behavior. Her only solace at night is that the man who took her mother away from her is still rotting in prison.

Yang Meiyi entered the police station and filed a missing report on her friend, she told them all she knew and hid nothing from them. The police assure her that they will track her phone and give her a call when they find anything new.

Yang Meiyi thanked them and left the station. Immediately she came out of the station, she saw Fu Mingze waiting for her outside.

Fu Mingze looked at her worried face and could see that she hadn’t slept well. He opened his arms wide for her and felt his heart soften when she threw herself at him. He wrapped his hand around her as he whispered "She will be fine. Every member of the Xia family is looking for her and very soon she will be found."

"I’m going to scold her very badly. How could she get me this worried?"

"You can scold her all you want when she returns, I will support you." Fu Mingze said with a smile while patting her back. Although he wasn’t showing it even he was worried. Ma Xin has always been responsible so it wasn’t possible for her to just leave without calling Yang Meiyi. Fu Mingze who was taking Yang Meiyi to Zhai Villa was about to tell her about his fake engagement with Ye Qingyi when his phone rang. Seeing it was Xia Lian calling, he immediately answered the call and heard him saying "Her phone has been traced sir, the location has been sent to the police." Xia Lian

"Where is it?" Fu Mingze asked as he placed the phone on speaker.

"It was found at a fish factory.’ Xia Lian replied.

"Fish factory?" Yang Meiyi asked in confusion. Why would Ma Xin’s phone be found at a fish factory?

"Send me the address." Fu Mingze said and ended the call.

Two seconds after the call ended, the address of the fish factory was sent to him.

Fu Mingze immediately turned the car and drove to the address of the factory.

After arriving at the fish factory, Yang Meiyi immediately came out of the car.

Xia Lian and four other men who were dressed in black suits bowed slightly when they saw Fu Mingze and Yang Meiyi.

Xia Lian gave the phone to Yang Meiyi and asked "Is this Miss Ma Xin’s phone?"

Yang Meiyi collected the phone anxiously and said "Yes, this is her phone. What’s it doing here?"

Xia Lian sighed and said "The phone was found lying in front of the factory. I have spoken to the owner of the fish factory and even shown him and his workers a picture of Ma Xin but they all said they haven’t seen her."

"So does this confirm that she might be kidnapped?" Fu Mingze asked.

Yang Meiyi’s heart sank when she heard Fu Mingze question and look at Xia Lian, hoping for him to say no, that he didn’t think her best friend has been kidnapped but her hope shattered when Xia Lian replied "I think it’s a kidnapping case."

"What about the journalist?" Yang Meiyi found herself asking.

"We were able to get the name of the journalist but the thing is....."

"What?" Yang Meiyi asked loudly.

"He uses the name Feng Wei but the truth is, the real Feng Wei died a long time ago."

"So he has been using a fake name to be with Ma Xin? But why?" Fu Mingze asked.

"We still haven’t recovered the reason, sir."

"Since he is using a dead person’s name then he must know this person. Investigate this Feng Wei and find out everything about him, especially the people that he was close to." Fu Mingze said coldly.

"Yes sir." Xia Lian and the other men dressed in black replied and left.

Yang Meiyi cried softly after they left and said "It’s all my fault."

Fu Mingze cupped her cheek as he said "No, it isn’t your fault. We will find her Meiyi."

"Ma Xin doesn’t have any enemies, whoever took her must be after me."

"Do you have anyone you are suspecting?" Fu Mingze asked as he gently cleaned her tears

"Yang Jiu. He must have taken her as a way of revenge against me. If anything happens to her then I will kill him." Yang Meiyi said as a cold glint appeared in her eyes.

Fu Mingze on the other hand had his doubts. According to what Yang Meiyi has told him, Ma Xin had been seeing this journalist even before she came back to country M. It has only been since Meiyi came back that Yang Jiu has started seeing her as a threat again, it must be someone else, but who? Is it an enemy of Meiyi as she said or one of Ma Xin?
