Transmigration; Married to My Ex-Fiancé's Uncle-Chapter 399; Lin mansion
They sat together, eating with focus. Chen Xiao was drooping with exhaustion, barely managing to get food to his mouth. Yuyan ate mechanically, her mind clearly still processing everything she’d witnessed today.
"You both did incredibly well today," Shuyin said to the children. "What you saw was very difficult. But you stayed strong, helped where you could, and showed compassion to children who desperately needed it. I’m very proud of both of you."
"Thqnk you Momma...." They enjoyed that praising.
Dinner concluded quickly. Both children were stumbling with tiredness by the time they finished eating. Lu Yuze carried Chen Xiao up to their room while Yuyan walked beside Shuyin, leaning heavily against her.
Bath time was brief and efficient. Both children were asleep almost before their heads hit pillows, exhausted by the emotional and physical demands of the day.
Shuyin and Lu Yuze stood in the doorway of the children’s room, watching them sleep peacefully. Then they moved quickly to prepare for the evening ahead.
Shuyin changed into dark, practical clothing, nothing that would draw unnecessary attention but nothing that suggested weakness either. Lu Yuze did the same, also making several phone calls to his security personnel.
They met in the hallway where Yu Shou waited. The fourteen-year-old girl who had once been Lin Yueling’s infant son, transformed into jade and now serving as guardian, stood with the supernatural awareness that came from her transformed nature.
"Yu Shou," Shuyin addressed her formally. "We need to leave the estate for approximately three hours. You’re in charge of the children’s safety while we’re gone. Both Yuyan and Chen Xiao sleeping in their room, and the two hundred rescued children throughout the guest wing."
"I understand," Yu Shou said, her voice carrying certainty beyond her apparent age. "No one will harm any child in this house while I stand watch."
"The medical staff will continue their care routines," Lu Yuze added. "But you’re the final authority on security matters. If anything seems wrong, anything at all, you contact us immediately." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Yes, sir."
They descended to the mansion’s entrance where Ting Fei waited beside a sleek black vehicle. Several other cars were also present, Lu Yuze’s security personnel, armed and ready to provide protection during what would be an evening in one of the city’s most dangerous locations.
"Everything is arranged," Ting Fei reported. "The prison director is expecting us. I’ve mapped the fastest route, we can make it in thirty minutes if we maintain high speed."
"Then let’s not waste time," Shuyin said, sliding into the back seat. Lu Yuze joined her while Ting Fei took the driver’s position. The security vehicles fell into formation around them, one ahead, two behind, creating a protected convoy.
The gates of the Lin estate opened smoothly, and they accelerated into the night.
Ting Fei drove with practiced skill, navigating through city streets with speed that would have been reckless in less capable hands. But he knew these roads, knew which routes to take to avoid traffic, which shortcuts would shave precious minutes from their journey. The speedometer climbed as they reached the highway leading out of the main city toward the industrial district where Black Water Ridge sat like a monument to society’s failures.
Thirty minutes at high speed. Thirty minutes to reach the place where Lin Feng and Madam Chen were about to learn exactly what it felt like to be entertainment for people who had no mercy, no compassion, no interest in their suffering beyond its amusement value.
Shuyin watched the city lights blur past the window, her expression calm but her eyes carrying something cold and satisfied. She’d spent years being the victim, the one who suffered while others watched or ignored or actively participated in her torment.
Tonight, she would be the one watching. The one with power. The one who’d arranged for justice to be served in the most direct, undeniable way possible.
And Lin Feng and Madam Chen would finally understand what they’d done, would finally feel what she’d felt, would finally know what it meant to be completely, utterly powerless in the face of cruelty they couldn’t prevent or escape.
The convoy sped through the night toward Black Water Ridge, toward the ring where blood and fear and desperate violence would teach lessons that years of imprisonment couldn’t convey.
Justice was waiting. And Shuyin was eager to witness every moment of it.
Lu Yuze suddenly reached out, his arm sliding around Shuyin’s waist before she could react, pulling her sharply toward him with decisive force.
"What are you doing...!" Shuyin yelped as she was dragged onto his lap, her balance faltering for a moment before she instinctively steadied herself, ending up straddling him with her legs on either side of his hips as she faced him directly.
"Lu Yuze....."
She didn’t finish. His hand tightened at the small end of her back, and his lips crashed against hers with sudden intensity. The kiss was fierce, carrying nothing of hesitation or gentleness. It carried something heavy instead, something that had clearly been building inside him for far too long, demanding release in this moment of privacy and darkness.
Shuyin’s breath caught in her throat. For a heartbeat she remained frozen, eyes wide, her fingers instinctively gripping the front of his shirt as her mind struggled to catch up with what was happening. But Lu Yuze didn’t pull back, didn’t give her space to overthink or retreat. His other hand came up to cradle the back of her neck, holding her there as his lips moved against hers again, slower this time but deeper, as if he was pouring every unspoken thought and suppressed feeling into that single moment of connection.
The tension inside her chest cracked like ice breaking under pressure. Shuyin closed her eyes, surrendering to the sensation, to the warmth of him, to the need she’d been denying for. Her hands slid upward, clutching his collar before one of them moved to his shoulder while the other tangled into his hair, fingers threading through the strands.
