Transmigration: Step Into The World of Books And Become The Strongest!-Chapter 52: The Envoys
"You..." Nathan was stunned by her stern tone.
In the past, Sharon had always been a timid and cowardly girl in his presence—she couldn’t even look him in the eye whenever they spoke.
But now, not only did she dare to meet his gaze, she also didn’t hesitate to speak such bold words.
He was clearly so shocked that he couldn’t react for a moment.
However, he quickly regained his composure and looked at Sharon seriously.
"Do you understand the meaning of your words, Sharon?" he asked, his eyes slightly narrowed.
"I do, Your Majesty," Sharon replied calmly. "I am indeed guilty of arriving late to the meeting this morning. So, if Your Majesty believes I deserve punishment, I will accept it."
Nathan wasn’t the only one caught off guard—Victoria, seated beside him, also fell silent.
’Is this girl getting good at acting?’ she wondered, eyeing Sharon closely.
But doubt soon followed. When someone was pretending, there was usually some flicker of turmoil in their eyes. Yet, she saw none of that in Sharon’s.
’Did she really change overnight? But... how could that be possible?’ Her brows furrowed in confusion.
Suddenly, she recalled the trouble her son had gotten into last night.
According to the reports, her son had been pressured and humiliated by someone named Avaron—a representative of Vanessa, heiress of the Maple Leaf Trading House.
Her son had also claimed that Avaron made Sharon his companion at the party—and together, they humiliated him in front of the guests.
In an instant, countless possibilities swirled in her mind, causing her expression to shift gradually.
’So that’s it, huh? I see now...’ She smiled coldly.
It seemed Sharon’s newfound confidence was tied to the man named Avaron.
With such a powerful figure backing her, it was no wonder Sharon’s demeanor had changed.
Of course, this wasn’t a trivial matter—especially for her. Among all the people who disliked Sharon, she arguably hated her the most.
It might be a stretch to think Sharon would seek revenge, but it was a possibility she couldn’t ignore.
"All right." Nathan sighed softly. "Let’s not drag this out. Return to your seat. The envoys from the Celestial Academy will arrive soon, and I don’t want the royal family to be embarrassed in front of them."
Truthfully, he had no intention of punishing her. Not only did he lack the heart to do so, but he also didn’t want to damage the royal family’s image in front of the ministers and officials.
What dignity would he have left if he punished his own daughter over something so trivial?
Sharon was momentarily stunned but quickly composed herself.
She bowed respectfully. "Thank you for your kindness, Your Majesty."
Nathan gave a small nod and raised his right hand slightly.
Sharon then walked toward the far left side of the throne room.
Despite her low status, she was still a princess—and was expected to sit with her brothers and sisters.
"Feeling tense, Princess?"
Standing behind the chair, Arthur offered a slight smile as he saw her approach.
Sharon sat down with a frown. "Of course I’m tense, Aron."
She let out a small sigh, glancing at him with a mix of annoyance and gratitude in her eyes.
The reason she was able to act so boldly today was because of Aron.
Just before they entered the throne room, he had taken a moment to help her confront her fear.
To be honest, it hadn’t been easy. For years, she’d been constantly pressured by her brothers and sisters, the Queen, and the concubines.
But she trusted Aron—and she didn’t want to let him down. In the end, she succeeded. And that made her genuinely happy.
Arthur chuckled softly. "I figured. But you were amazing for facing your fear. Later, I’ll cook you lots of delicious food like that as a reward. Sound good?"
Sharon’s eyes lit up, and she nodded enthusiastically. "Yay! I’m really excited! Thank you, Aron!"
"You’re welcome, Princess." Arthur smiled and instinctively reached out to pat her head—but quickly pulled his hand back.
They were in the throne room, and even the smallest gesture could draw attention.
Besides, Sharon’s display of courage had already made her the center of attention. It was no surprise that eyes and whispers were now drifting their way.
Meanwhile, Clareth and Cassius cast sharp glances at Sharon and Arthur, who were quietly conversing with smiles on their faces.
Their brows were furrowed, as though deep in thought.
"All right, everyone. We will now begin this morning’s meeting."
Nathan’s majestic, cold voice echoed through the throne room, immediately capturing the attention of everyone present.
"As you all know, this meeting concerns the arrival of the envoys from the Celestial Academy. They will be arriving shortly, and I expect no one to cause trouble or offend them. Should that happen, you are well aware of the severe consequences."
His stern tone instantly cast a heavy silence over the throne room.
"We understand, Your Majesty."
The ministers and high-ranking officials seated along the sides of the hall, as well as the princes and princesses on the left, immediately rose and clasped their hands respectfully.
"Good." Nathan nodded, satisfied.
But before he could continue, a loud voice rang out from the throne room’s entrance.
"The Envoys of the Celestial Academy request permission to enter the throne room!"
At those words, everyone in the room was instantly startled. No one had expected the envoys to arrive so soon.
Nathan was momentarily taken aback as well, but he quickly drew a deep breath and responded in a firm voice, "Let them in!"
The gates of the throne room creaked open slowly as his voice echoed through the hall.
From beyond the doorway, two figures—a man and a woman—entered with calm, confident strides.
On the right was a young man with striking features. His short blue hair was neatly styled, framing a face marked by sharp lines and captivating black eyes.
A faint smile curved his lips, carrying a mix of slyness and mystery.
He wore a gray robe adorned with a star-shaped pattern on the back—a design that matched his enigmatic aura perfectly.
To his left walked a beautiful woman with glasses, her long black hair tied neatly into a ponytail.
She was dressed in the formal uniform of the Celestial Academy: a tailored blazer paired with a knee-length skirt.
Her demeanor was composed and indifferent at first glance, but she exuded a quiet intelligence and refined elegance that made her stand out effortlessly.
Behind Sharon’s chair, Arthur narrowed his eyes, his expression turning serious.
"So, they’re Catrine and Rudolf, huh?"
