Trapped as an NPC in a Dating Sim-Chapter 40: Isolde Valemir: S-rank Craftsman!
In Elite Hunter Academy, although most students were directly shoved into the same room for lessons, even though they had different classes, Lifestyle classes were an exception.
Especially the Class: Craftsman.
Due to the very small number of hunters who awakened this class, the students who had it were directly taken by the Academy to a different facility where they would be trained vigorously.
And if such classes were A-rank or higher, these hunters didn’t even need to wait for the first semester to end to apply to study under a professor like other hunters did.
Various guilds would come by themselves with offers, providing everything they needed. Such hunters were like hot potatoes that even the Academy didn’t want others to take.
To be honest, compared to others, Lifestyle Class hunters had it very easy. They didn’t even need to dive into dangerous dungeons and risk their lives.
They could just relax outside, produce exceptional equipment, or refine rare materials, while others risked life and limb to gather resources.
But not all liked such a life.
Some craftsmen also wanted to enter dungeons and see the world inside for themselves. And since joining a guild could very well snatch that opportunity, some craftsmen chose to go solo.
Isolde Valemir was also like that. As an S-Rank Craftsman with exceptional talent, she chose her freedom.
Unfortunately, although the Academy respected her choice and even provided a safe environment away from guilds’ influence, this also meant the resources she could gather on her own were scarce.
After all, her class was mostly a game of trial and error. As much as she wanted to be independent, without sponsorship, the cost she had to bear was too high.
That’s why, even though she was two batches senior to Soren and the others, she still hadn’t crossed level 100. Not every team wanted a Craftsman like her, a potential burden, to dive into dungeons with them.
Dejected, she could only open a shop inside the Academy and hope to see her products sell.
Although business was going well due to her S-Rank status, it was too slow.
She desperately needed a team, a team where she would be accepted, a team where she could use her hidden skills without any trust issues.
But how hard was that?
"Senior Isolde...someone wants to meet you."
A cute teenage girl shouted from outside, breaking Isolde’s trance. She had been thinking about how to gather the materials she lacked, as her stash from the business was running low.
"Hmm? Who wants to meet me? Didn’t I tell you I’m quite busy?"
Isolde spoke, her voice slightly haughty yet carrying a unique charm.
"B-but he said he has an urgent request. And he seemed to be from that new party, the one that managed to conquer the E-rank dungeon and complete the Principle’s challenge."
The teenage girl spoke, her voice a bit lower. She seemed somewhat afraid of Isolde.
"Hmm? Oh, the team that’s the talk of the town currently?"
Isolde raised an eyebrow slightly. Since she was in the market, she had also heard the rumor.
Of course, she didn’t care much about a mere E-rank dungeon. She was already level 82, far too high to bother with such things.
But she was quite interested in the item they had from the boss monster.
’If I heard correctly, the boss was the Crimson Wyvern? Its blood could act as an auxiliary ingredient for my next creation.’
Isolde’s lack of resources and connections meant she couldn’t waste the opportunity of even an E-rank dungeon. After all, after certain levels, hunters were no longer allowed to enter low-rank dungeons.
For example, an E-rank dungeon capped at hunter level 30, anyone above that couldn’t enter. Similarly, D-rank was capped at level 50, C-rank at 100, and B-rank at 200.
Once a dungeon reached B-rank, its difficulty would be divided across the number of floors inside.
For Isolde, that meant the only dungeons she could currently enter were C-rank and above.
"Okay, let him enter then. I want to see what these new stars, who’ve suddenly become popular, are like."
After a moment of thought, Isolde spoke to the girl outside, then took a monocle from the drawer and placed it over one eye.
She sat back in her chair naturally, her tall frame overlooking the door like a boss. Unlike other girls, she carried her own unique aura, as if she feared no one.
"Sir Soren, Senior, has invited you inside."
The little maid immediately followed Isolde’s order and guided Soren to the room before opening the door.
"Thank you!"
Soren smiled before entering and closing the door naturally. Only then did he look ahead to see a girl sitting on a chair, crossing her legs, and scrutinizing him.
The girl was very tall, almost his height, with sleek black hair framing her face and striking blue eyes that seemed to pierce right through him.
She wore a fitted blue vest and matching shorts, the outfit accentuating her well-endowed chest and slender figure, giving her an alluring yet confident presence.
Her most striking feature was her long legs, toned and smooth, so enticing that Soren’s gaze traveled there inadvertently.
He had just come from noticing Sylvia’s thighs in the classroom, and now he found himself quite... distracted.
"Are you done?"
Although he only glanced briefly, Isolde, of course, noticed his gaze.
"If you are done looking at me, can we now talk about why you’re here? I am quite busy, you know."
She spoke lightly, just like a senior should, not taking him too seriously.
"Haha... Senior, don’t mind my look. I was just surprised by your appearance."
Soren laughed lightly to ease his embarrassment.
He knew that for Isolde, he was just a junior and a stranger. Acting too close wasn’t a good choice.
"Ahem... anyway, Senior, I heard you are an S-rank Craftsman who is open to orders. I have some orders for you, what do you think?"
Soren asked, before taking out a few materials from his inventory and placing them on the long desk in front of her.
They were Wyvern Core Ember, Searing Scale, Inferno Claw, Emberwing Membrane, and Wyvern Blood Vial.
Soren noticed that the moment he put down the Wyvern Blood Vial, Isolde’s eyes changed slightly, although they returned to normal instantly.
"I indeed take orders, but not for such low-grade materials. Don’t you know I am an S-rank craftsman?"
Isolde spoke before standing up and looking at the items laid across her table. For her, these low-level materials weren’t interesting anymore. Only the Wyvern Blood Vial was useful, so she picked up the small bottle directly.
"However, I am in need of this item recently. If you can sell this to me, I will buy it at double the market price. What do you think?"
She asked directly. Her personality was like that. She didn’t give false hope and really had no plan to take his order. In fact, even Soren knew that before he came here.
"Uhm, Senior, this item isn’t for sale, you see. But..."
Soren showed the right amount of embarrassment before negotiating.
"But... I can give you this vial for free if you take my order. What do you think? Our team really needs some good equipment customized by professionals."
He asked, to which Isolde directly shook her head.
