Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Vacation Again?

Matthias also just remembered that he had to go on another business trip soon. He had been enjoying himself with his wife recently. Should he be separated from her again? For some reason, as their relationship progressed, he felt increasingly selfish. He couldn’t bear to leave her sleeping alone in this luxurious home.

"That’s true. I have to survey projects outside the city every two months from now on." His eyes looked sad as he stared at his wife’s still innocent face. "I wish I could take my wife with me to survey project sites."

Jennifer snapped her fingers. "That’s a great idea, Matthias."

Victoria looked at her husband with a pleading expression. "Is it okay if I accompany you on your project site survey in Yanmang?"

"Since you’re also in charge of designing the interior there, perhaps you could give me some advice."

Sawyer could only shake his head at his friend’s innocent face. "Wouldn’t you rather want to go on another honeymoon with your wife?"

"Not a honeymoon, but a business trip!"

Sawyer and Jennifer laughed so hard their faces turned red.

Jennifer grabbed her best friend’s hand enthusiastically. "You go with Matthias. Louis will handle the studio for now."

Sawyer put his arm around his girlfriend’s shoulders affectionately. "Don’t forget to let us know how your relationship is going."

Matthias smiled mischievously, took out two large paper bags, and handed them to his two friends. "Since you’re both so clever, I’m giving you some Guam souvenirs."

"You really are the best, Matthias! Thank you for the souvenirs. I hope your relationship with Victoria grows even sweeter and more intimate."

"Don’t worry. If I make her angry again, I will beg her."

By the time the two friends had said their goodbyes and gone home, only the husband and wife remained in the living room. Victoria, still pursed, was still tidying up all the things she had bought during her adventure in Guam. Suddenly, her husband grabbed her right hand, causing her head to turn in his direction.

"You should just get some rest. Tidying up is a man’s job," Matthias said gently as he picked up all the paper bags scattered on the floor.

"No need. Tidying up is a wife’s job too," Victoria replied with a shy smile.

"By the way, would you mind going to Yanmang city with me?"

Victoria shook her head nervously. "No. Besides, it’s my job to go on business trips with you."

Matthias’s reaction was a beaming smile. "Okay, I’ll book a hotel room for us to stay in. We’ll only be gone for three days."

"If Sawyer hadn’t given you that brilliant idea, would you still have asked me to go with you?"

"Of course I’ll ask you." He lifted her pointed chin. "I won’t let you sneak out on a date with Ansel while I’m away."

Victoria laughed so hard her face turned red. "Don’t worry, I’m not dating him. Besides, I already decided yesterday that I want to accept our marriage."

Before going to bed, Victoria was still unaccustomed to sleeping in her husband’s room, even though she had always slept in the guest room. She continued to smile brightly as she turned to face her husband, who still hadn’t fallen asleep. Although she had slept in this room before, she found it strange that they were actually sleeping in the same bed in this luxurious room.

"Are you still awkward?"

"Actually, I’m still a little awkward. Especially since I’ve only been sleeping with you for a few days."

Matthias smiled mischievously and kissed his wife’s forehead for a few seconds. "Should I book two hotel rooms for us on our business trip?"

"No need. I’m getting used to sleeping with you anyway."

"I liked hearing your answer earlier."

drrt...drrt...

Hearing the sound of her cell phone suddenly vibrating on the bedside table, Victoria immediately took the cell phone and answered the phone call with a bright smile.

"Grandpa, I miss you so much."

"I miss you too, Victoria. How are you and Matthias doing on vacation?"

Matthias smiled mischievously, snatching his wife’s phone and turning the camera on, pointing it at their faces. "Grandpa, if you’re curious about how my wife and I are doing now, you can see for yourself."

"Wow, I never thought your relationship would be so harmonious now! Could it be that you’re not just on vacation?"

"Of course. Later, Grandpa will get a special gift from me."

Victoria widened her eyes and immediately pinched her husband’s hand. She knew what he had just said. "Don’t give Grandpa any hope yet!"

"Should we prove that our relationship is fine now?" While the camera was still on, Matthias kissed his wife on the lips for a few seconds, making the grandfather’s gaze immediately widen and smile happily.

Charles burst out laughing as he watched the couple grow increasingly affectionate as time went by. "Okay, I won’t bother you any longer. Even now, you’re making me jealous."

"Grandpa, Matthias has been a bit over the top lately. Please forgive him."

"It’s okay. In fact, seeing you all so happy now makes me very happy. Never mind, I won’t talk to you anymore."

Charles quickly ended the call. Victoria glared at her husband, slapping him repeatedly on the chest. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"Aren’t you embarrassed to kiss in front of grandpa?"

"Instead of Grandpa continuing to worry about our relationship, it’s better if we show it off directly."

"But I’m still embarrassed. Especially since you said openly that you wanted to give him a special gift."

"Yeah, I really want that gift too. The more crowded our house is, the more fun it will be."

Victoria immediately lay down and turned away from her husband. She still finds it hard to imagine having a child with Matthias. "I’m sleepy. I’m going to sleep now."

"Okay, I won’t bother you anymore."

As she was sleeping, Victoria was suddenly drawn into a memory that returned to her. Now trapped in a sedan she was driving, as she was turning the car, a large vehicle suddenly hit her from the side with such force that it rolled over.
