Chapter 91: Chapter 91: Have You Ever Flirted with a Sexy Woman?

Due to the storm outside, a couple couldn’t have a proper date. All they could do was stay in the hotel for dinner. Luckily, Matthias had booked a hotel with quite complete facilities. A romantic dinner at the on-site restaurant was enough for them. Especially with the restaurant’s romantic decor, filled with hanging stars and twinkling lights. Victoria was so in love with the atmosphere that her eyes lit up as she looked around.

"Matty, can you actually predict the weather?" Victoria joked, laughing mischievously.

Matthias also laughed at his wife’s sudden joke in the middle of a romantic dinner. "You don’t usually joke around while you’re eating." His right hand pinched his wife’s soft cheek. "You’re so adorable right now."

"Somehow, I feel like you knew the weather was going to be bad today. We couldn’t go anywhere. That’s why you booked this well-equipped hotel with this beautiful restaurant so I wouldn’t get upset."

"You could say I already knew this city often experiences thunderstorms. Also, you really like stargazing before bed. Enjoying dinner while gazing at the stars, even if they’re just imitations, is enough for me."

"Me too." Victoria lowered her head in shame as she put a spoonful of rice into her mouth.

Victoria admitted that she grew fonder of her annoying husband. Whenever he was always so sensitive to her wishes, her heart immediately fluttered. She was incredibly grateful for her best friend’s brilliant suggestion to accompany her husband on his business trip. If she had stayed home alone without him, she admitted she would have been incredibly lonely. Not seeing his handsome face for just a day made her anxious.

Matthias rested his chin on his hands and gazed at his wife, who was wearing a beaming smile, making him fall even more in love with her. "Tory, what are you imagining?"

Victoria immediately woke up from her reverie and shook her head rapidly. "I wasn’t thinking about anything."

"Your cheeks are red."

A harsh breath escaped his lips. "Can you stop sweet-talking me? I’m eating right now."

"Is it a sin to flirt with my beautiful wife while she is eating?"

"No." Her eyes flashed a smirk at her husband. "But I’ll warn you. If you flirt with another woman who’s prettier than me while you’re eating together, it’s a sin."

Matthias burst out laughing, staring at his jealous wife until her face turned red. "My wife, how could I possibly want to eat with another woman? Especially just the two of us."

"I’m sure you’ve had a chance to eat with another woman alone, especially with Amber."

"I did eat with her when we were in America."

Victoria laughed in annoyance as she roughly placed her spoon on the plate, startling her husband. "Did you really ever flirt with her?"

"Me?" Matthias rolled his eyes. "I really don’t want to do that."

"But is it true that you’ve never been attracted to anyone? Especially since there are so many sexy women in America. Isn’t it easy for a man to be tempted just by a woman’s appearance?"

"But I’m not the type of guy who is easily tempted by anyone."

"No wonder Ansel always thought you were gay."

Matthias burst out laughing again. "If I were gay, I would definitely choose him as my boyfriend. He’s truly a very attractive man." His right hand stroked his wife’s head for a moment, slowly moving. "But you have to remember one thing. I’m only interested in you. No matter if other women or Amber flirt with me, I will still choose you."

Victoria looked away, her spoon trembling in her hand. "I’ll respect you if you keep your promise."

"Have I ever broken my promise?"

Her eyes returned to her husband with an intense gaze. "No. You never lied to me, either. That’s why I’ve always respected you. As time goes by, it’s becoming harder for me to hate you."

"Tory..."

"By the way, thank you for taking me out on a date to such a beautiful place this afternoon. I’ll never forget it."

"As for dating, just leave it all to me." Matthias winked casually with his right eye.

Even late into the night, Yanmang City was still battered by a thunderstorm. While Matthias was able to enjoy a date with his wife inside the hotel, he was also worried about the future of the T&H Real Estate development project. Especially if a thunderstorm struck, he feared the projects would be destroyed by the typhoon, even if they used the best building materials.

After his shower, Matthias wore a gloomy expression as he lay down on the bed with his wife. Winning her heart was a success today, but now there was the matter of the project that was keeping him from sleeping. He continued to breathe weakly several times, making his wife start to feel uneasy.

"What’s wrong with you, Matty?" Victoria asked, looking at her husband worriedly.

"Actually, I’m just worried about the project’s current situation. The city has been hit by a heavy rainstorm for hours. I’m worried the construction project will fail."

Victoria folded her arms. "Why are you already thinking about something negative when it hasn’t even happened yet?"

"I didn’t actually mean it that way."

"Then you better go to sleep now."

Finally, a mischievous smile spread across his handsome face. Matthias hugged his wife’s curvy body tightly. "Tory, how cruel of you to tell me to go to bed when I still want to talk to you."

"Because you look tired. Anyway, you should get some rest before we have to go to work in the field tomorrow."

"But just talking to you makes me not feel tired."

"If you are stubborn again, I will not be nice to you anymore!"

The next day, Matthias and Victoria woke up later than usual due to their lengthy conversation throughout the night. Matthias was still curious about the condition of the project site after the previous night’s thunderstorm, which was still lightly raining.

Just as he was about to put on his watch, someone suddenly called him. He was forced to answer the phone, which was from the project’s head contractor.

"Mr. Matthias, I would like to report on the current state of the project."

"How’s it going there?"

"Due to hours of heavy rain, some side of the project site were flooded due to leaks."
