Chapter 168: Universal law

Athos. His tone was low, shocked to the core seeing the once beautiful angel in front.

H-how is this even possible? Isn’t he meant to be from my past? It didn’t make any sense, why the labyrinth played this scene at this moment. As it technically wasn’t connected to him, and had happened a million years ago.

[am not entirely sure. The labyrinth is a gateway passage of reflection. And according to the writings it changes shape, so what if this was a different possible timeline.] listening to snow confused Kyle more. There was no way his past and present could interline. And even if it did it, he had no direct connection with the events that took place a million years ago.

Zena, open the gates! Athos calmly spoke, but Kyle could feel the sheer power emitting from those words.

Am not even within his range but am getting burnt? Looking at his skin some parts were shedding off. It was slow and not that noticeable but still happening.

[it’s his energy contradicting yours. You’ll be alright as this is just a memory but I advise you maintain a safe distance from him.]

You don’t need to tell me twice. He was certain he would die for sure if he and current Athos fought. Not being a match for the powerful angel.

Clank! The entrance gate to the celestial city swung open, releasing a burst of pure white energy.

This... so this is celestial energy. He thought experience the sheer energy oozing from the gates.

It’s not shedding my skin. Unlike the energy being emitted from Athos the celestial energy was soothing against his skin with a stinging sensation.

Hey, wait up! Zenas voice pulled him from his thoughts with an enormous outburst of celestial energy. Meaning they had entered the godly city.

I can’t keep up with them like this. He struggled to run with weak legs, and didn’t possess wings to fly. But he didn’t have to. Like a command the clouds beneath his feet lifted him up, moving with speed lower than the two angels into the celestial city.

It’s even more beautiful. His eyes widened witnessing the celestial city in its glory. It was more beautiful than snow had described it. So vivid and enchanting it almost seemed as if this wasn’t an illusion but the real thing.

Reaching the palace, he could feel an even greater source of energy. Dominating the celestial energy.

The light. His stomach churned a bit thinking of that name. from snows story he was the reason and cause of the birth of demons. All because of a dumb law.

Stopping in the palace Zena and Athos made their way deeper into the palace. Kyle staying a considerable distance on the clouds. He’d passed some angels and mythical creatures in the air. All to which were unknown of his existence.

Passing the grand tree with thick spread-out branches and ripe fruits hanging from them. They made their way to a particular door by the right. It wasn’t like the rest thousands of doors here. Containing a strange symbol of four creatures. Inserting their energy simultaneously it opened, expelling a burst of light and energy pushing him back.

How does he expect us to fly like this. Athos and Kyle subconsciously muttered.

Did we just think the same thing? His eyes widened seeing him and Athos rhyme. Yes, he did recall Athos saying those words in snows vison. But there was no way he could’ve known the exact timing.

[it’s probably coincidence. He is your ancestor so who knows, you’re probably going to think alike.]

Your majesty. Athos bowed going to his knees, all six of his wings covering him along with Zena. In front was a grand throne made of the purest gold. Seated on it was a huge ball of fire, a million times hotter than the sun. Surrounding it were the four creatures illustrated on the door.

Welcome, I’ve been expecting you. The light calmly uttered in a powerful tone.

And you too. The light telepathically spoke referring to none other than Kyle.

Impossible. He can’t possibly be referring to me right snow? He awkwardly chuckled but received no response from his system.

I have completed the assignment you tasked me with father. Your people have been safely delivered. Athos slowly spoke.

Is that so, that is very good Athos I am very proud of you. A scroll materialized in front of the light slowly descending towards Athos.

That is your reward, take it. Not decline he accepted the scroll which entered his body.

Thank you, your eminence. we will now take our leave. Zena spoke unfolding two of her wings along with Athos. flying at a low distance away from the intimidating pressure, making it harder to fly any higher.

This doesn’t make sense. Kyle frowned seeing the scene play out different than he previously saw from snow telegram.

You must be confused young one, well no worries. That’s why I brought you here. The light boldly spoke shutting the entrance. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

He can see me. Not sure at first, he finally confirmed the light was aware of his existence. Still in the ball of flames Kyle wasn’t sure but he felt the light staring at him.

You said you brought me here. How and why? Having no escape route, he was outmatched and cornered. Deciding it best to cling to the option this was just a generated scene from the labyrinth.

It’s no doubt he’s the cause the system’s offline again. He clenched his fist not being able to access his system or speak to snow.

How is not important but if you’re concerned about the celestial city, I assure you we’re nowhere nearby. He said the grand space dissolving into a vaster white space.

Tsk and why would you think I believe you. You should just kill me already. I hear you’re good at it. He scoffed maintaining a stiff expression. Not responding immediately, the light digested Kyle word.

Hahaha! He suddenly burst out in laughter startling the former.

Never in centuries has a lower being made me crack this hard. I was right about you; you hold the key.

You know... for an all-powerful entity you sure are weird. Kyle ghastly said turning round and walking away.

Where are you going? There’s nowhere off this space.

I know, so long it’s away from you. Hell, even death would be better than this. He muttered dragging his tired legs across the white space.

Hmm. I thought sarcasm was his thing? Maybe I got a little carried away. Reaching a considerable distance away, Kyle’s body gently floated back to the light. Landing on his knees with his head bowed against his will.

Pardon me for my earlier approach, I tend to get carried away sometimes. The light chuckled reverting into a more definitive human shape. The same as he saw through snow projection.

I’ve been watching you Kyle, much longer than you think. But that isn’t why I brought you here. Stretching his hand, the floor beneath them changed. Loosing color materializing into a black space void of life.

Long ago before the creation of time there was nothing. No earth, no sun, no people. Nothing. He paused with a light smirk.

All except the first group of primordial. The first walkers consisting of the timeless beings to walk the universe.

Primordial? You mean you’re not the only one. Kyle’s eye widened a bit. According to the books he read there were tails of different mythological gods and creatures but none as old as the light and angels.

It was often depicted the light was the first being. Creating angels, then other beings known as gods. But never for once were there, records of beings as old as the light.

Of course. There are others like me varying in different forms scattered across galaxies undiscovered. For millenniums we’ve walked space in search of other lifeforms but came up empty. He paused lightly sighing recalling a memory.

Lonely some of us decided to create life in our image. Though the others debunked such which led to a heated debate. But in the end, everything worked out fine. And the universal law was set up.

What law? Kyle frowned not understanding what he meant.

Sighs* you see there are several planets in your galaxy, and countless more undiscovered. Some inhabited and some not. Pausing the light expression saddened staring downwards.

What do you think happens when water is poured into a basket?

It leaks.

But what if the holes are blocked? What happens then?

If water is being continued poured then it overflows if not it becomes filled. Kyle replied not understanding where this was going.

Exactly. The same with planets and its inhabitants. Now, as much as some of us primordial chose to create species we couldn’t.

Each primordial was assigned a designated location to inhabit. Along with a limit on the creation capacity to ensure the balance remains.

And what happens if the limit is exceeded. Listening to him Kyle grasped hold on what the light said. It was a no brainer to learn there were beings as powerful as the light scattered in galaxies far away. Which only spelled more doom as humanity chances on survival were none.

Well, the law would come to play. The weeds would be exterminated from existence to maintain balance. And everything would work out fine.

Work out fine!? Kyle stuttered in anger tightly clenching his fist.
