Chapter 192: Freedom

Snow’s word were like a bombshell to Kyle’s ears. He knew troy was power driven and crazy, but killing his own flesh and blood? That was just pure insanity!

Not understanding what he planned to gain from the loss of a child.

’No, this can’t be.’ kyle refused to believe his eyes, though all signs pointed to genocide.

Squeezing the head a bit, a faint purple glow emitted from it. Coming in contact with the flames, Kyle’s eye widened.

"It extinguished it?"

Once in contact with it’s target, dark flames effects couldn’t be avoided. No matter how much effort, it just couldn’t be manuevered.

Though the process of melting varied, depending on how strong the individual was. But now that purple glow had not only extinguished dark flames. But also restored Troy’s body back to it’s previous state.

Like nothing had ever happened.

"There’s only one ability that can achieve such feet.’ He thought, the image of a particular individual popping up in view.

"Lynn." She was the only one in possession of such a terrifying ability. Capable of defying the odds, leading him to question just how strong she was.

According to snow, Lynn’s ability was similar to lumia’s. Considering lumia ability focused on healing injured wounds and even reattaching severed limbs.

While Lynn’s ability could not only heal but somehow reverse the effects. So it never transpired in the first place.

It was such an overpowered ability one could have. With limitless possibilities and very few hindrances. Considering one had a wide pool of mana and high intelligence to use such skill.

’How is this even possible? I mean, if he really killed her then how is he accessing her ability?’ Kyle frowned sensing something fishy about this whole thing.

If a person died, then so did their ability. Yes, there were other ability users than could copy abilities. But the requirements were mostly vast primarily being the user had to be alive to form a connection.

Not listing the other various demands to be fulfilled.

[This is just a hypothesis but it probably hasn’t been long since her death. So the energy contained in her is still full and he’s somehow in possession of a device that not only preseverse her ability. But also grants him usage.]

Listening to her he questioned if such a device ezisted. But it didn’t matter now as there was another problem at hand.

"That was fun." Troy indifferently said, with a light sigh. The dark flames completely extinguished from him, like it was never there.

"Why?" Was the only question kyle had not being able to read Troy’s motives.

It wasn’t a hidden fact lynn was the black sheep of the family. And had committed several attrocities which led to her capture.

But, if he truly wanted her dead from the start why didn’t he kill her when she invaded. Or give out the command to bring her in dead.

"You’re wondering why i killed my first daughter. Isn’t it simple? There’s no other way." Troy shrugged it off as nothing.

Staring into his eyes there wasn’t a waver in his expression, nor a flutter in his aura.

"Bullshit! What do you mean no other way? She didn’t even face trial or you try to defend her like any normal father would." Kyle retorded, his tone a bit distored from the level of rage emitting from him.

Slightly chuckling troy lowered his head down a bit. A crazed grin spreading to his lips, followed by trickles of tears to the floor.

"How dare you judge my decision, you know nothing about what it means to have a family to protect and a kingdom!" Troy yelled showcasing a deep sadness Kyle never thought was within him.

Blasting from spot, troy closed the distance between him and kyle in an instance. His free clenched fist aimed at Kyle’s head.

Gritting his teeth he barely crossed his arms together at the last moment. Reducing the damage from troy’s fist.

"You’re right, i don’t know what it’s like running a kingdom. But don’t you dare speak to me about not knowing how it feels having a family to protect while being on the run from a powerful entity capable of a planet anhailation!"

"By entity I’m assuming you’re prehaps referring to a god of some sort." Troy calmly said to which kyle nodded.

’So there is such a thing as gods.’ Despite being really powerful, troy knew he was far from reaching god level.

Though he didn’t believe in gods, never coming in contact with one. He always this strange feeling there were beings opposing the ranking laws.

"You made mention of a family under your protection. That fox woman, she must be part of your pack. Am i right?"

"Yes."

"What about them?" Hesistating a bit, Kyle didn’t want to outright say they were his parents.

The main reason being they were half monsters now. So he couldn’t risk their identity and jeopardize their safety.

"They’re risked their lives for me during my fight with lynn. So i consider them as part of my pack."

"Sighs~ i see now." Slightly shaking his head a bitter smile formed on Troy’s face.

"You completed your quest and safely brought both my daughters back. Congratulations, you’ve earned the right to leave." He boldly declared causing Kyle’s eye to widen a bit. Not expecting those next set of words from the king.

"There’s a central teleporting pad at the loading bay south of the kingdom. You may take the fox woman with those two and leave."

"What about Aurora?" Kyle asked with a frown. She’d not only been a great help to him and falcon during the hunger games. But also risked her life against the shadow bats.

Placing his hand to his chin troy muttered some inaudible words. Thinking about something.

"I’m afraid you won’t be taking her. she has potential which valuable to me."

Frowning, kyle stepped forward. Not caring about closing the distance between them, standing face to face with the ruthless king.

"I’m not leaving without her." Kyle softly uttered his tone laced with malice. His eyes glowing red, staring deadpan into Troy’s.

"Very well.." Troy chuckled, his hands raised in defeat. "You may take the blind archer with you."

Giving a slight nod kyle then proceeded towards his still unconscious parents. The black goo had done well to heal their bodies. Leaving them exhausted from the strain of pushing past their limit.

’so that’s where you’re hiding.’ a light smile formed on Kyle’s face looking at both his parents spiked arm.

It had no doubt gotten bigger than usual, with a mixed aura. Placing ron on his back he picked xia in a princess carriage. They were a little heavy but nothing he couldn’t manage.

"Here take this!" Troy shouted, tossing a golden medal with the insigma 1. Which effortlessly hung around Kyle’s neck.

"That’ll grant you passage and immunity directly from me." Turning Kyle stopped a thought crossing his mind.

"What will happen to lumia?"

She was the reason for his earlier outburst, not only had she saved him and falcon. But also constantly risked her neck out for them.

Which planted a seed of guilt in his heart, failing to keep her alive.

"You don’t have to worry about her, she’s my responsibility. I’ll make sure to be the best father and ensure she gets the good life she deserves." Troy smirked motioning a thumbs up at kyle.

"I don’t care if you have a change of heart. Just don’t ever cause any harm to her again or I’ll find you and kill you myself." Kyle coldly said with deep resent. Steadily walking away out the castle’s entrance.

"Such a feisty individual." He could sense the killing intent in Kyle’s word as he spoke. Reminding him of his younger self.

"That was exciting." Kyle muttered stepping out from the castle. Taking in a deep breath, the cool breeze brushing against his skin.

Descending the rows of steps he finally reached ground floor. Proceeding towards the exit of the castle. In front stood a makeshift bridge like no other.

A set of black rectangular devices were stationed at the top and bottom. Hovering in the air without any support whatsoever. Emitting a strong white luminous light, and a static hum with rhythm.

’light transportation.’

It was just the same like the train in the kingdom. Except having a more distinct and extravagant design.

"No matter how much i see it, i never cease to be amazed." Scoffing he could see some number of guards by the sleek white train.

Upon sighting him they immediately recognized his as the peasant from the hunger games. Tensed, they aimed their beam cannons at him. But halted, seeing the dangling golden medal.

"H-he actually did it." There was shock evudent in the space guard eyes. Seeing kyle casually stroll past them boarding the train.

A soft systematic hiss resounded along with the departure of train. Glding on light rays at a pace faster than the central train.

"Shit. I forgot to ask their location." Kyle cursed realizing he’d forgotten to inquire about falcon and aurora’s thereabouts.

"Master!"

He didn’t have to, as a sweet feminine voice he recognized called out.
