Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1219: The Line Is Busy
Jocelyn felt a pang of guilt in her heart, "..." Unable to figure out how to respond for a moment.
She had to reject him, yet avoid hurting him.
"Jocelyn." Trevor suggested softly, "Let’s give each other a month to try being together. If after that month you find me unsuitable, I’ll let you go, okay?"
He was negotiating with her, he loved her, and this was the biggest concession he could make.
"Trevor." Jocelyn said heavily, "You’re really a great person, truly, you are exceptionally outstanding..."
"If I’m so outstanding, then why are you rejecting me?" Trevor asked, unwilling to accept it.
"..." Jocelyn’s mind went blank, unable to answer, she had to confess the truth, "I’m already with Dr. Shelby, I like him just as strongly as you like me, perhaps even more intensely."
Trevor’s heart sank, and he frowned again, "What? You’re...together?" He asked in disbelief, the words spilling from his sensual, thin lips.
His handsome brow furrowed into an ’X’. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"Yes." To make him completely give up, she added a detail, "I gave him my first kiss."
This was a fact Trevor simply couldn’t accept, it felt like a complete loss.
Hearing the words ’first kiss’, his heart seemed to throb painfully.
Bittersweet.
After a moment of silence, Trevor said nothing, just when Jocelyn felt deeply sorry and wanted to apologize to him again, Trevor with deep regret hung up the phone.
The string deep in his heart broke.
Jocelyn’s heart sank to the bottom as well; she feared owing anything to others in this lifetime.
Yet she inadvertently hurt Trevor.
Such an outstanding young man, this incident gave Jocelyn a bit of a psychological burden.
Soon after, the phone screen lit up, and the ringtone sounded again.
This time it was Ian Shelby calling.
Seeing ’Dr. Shelby’, she quickly pulled herself together and answered with a hint of anticipation, "Hey~"
"Who’ve you been talking to on the phone?" Ian asked softly, "It’s been engaged all the time."
"..." Jocelyn paused slightly, not good at lying, "It was Trevor, he called."
And Ian knew Trevor liked Jocelyn.
But he didn’t feel threatened, because Trevor’s confession had failed.
Someone you don’t love at first sight, you’re unlikely to fall for them later because in matters of love, first impressions are crucial.
"He likes you." Ian stated the fact.
"But I don’t like him." Jocelyn replied, "I just want to be with you."
After a brief silence, a hint of a smile appeared on Ian’s lips, he was pleased, "What time do you usually go to sleep? Do you stay up late writing novels?"
After changing the subject, it became time for just the two of them.
"I don’t stay up late writing, but I do while scrolling my phone." Jocelyn answered casually, "You know, young people tend to do that."
"Listen." He said to her seriously, "No more staying up late, you must be in bed before eleven to rest."
"Yes, sir."
Such a obedient young lady made Ian really fond of her, he said to her, "I feel your hands are cold, you have poor circulation, you need to exercise, can you keep it up?"
"Will you accompany me?" Jocelyn couldn’t help but act a bit coquettish.
"I can." He replied almost without thinking, "Then every morning get up at six, I’ll be there to pick you up at six-twenty. We’ll go jogging along the riverbank together and then have breakfast together."
