Chapter 321: Chapter 390: Diabolos (Part 2)

Diabolos gratefully said:

"Honorable Death God’s Messenger, you saved my life, which is the greatest gift.

How could I behave like a greedy person and demand your gift?"

The Tree of Human Essence, with a hundred faces emotionless, said:

"I’ve traveled across this great grassland, and you are the being that loves this grassland the most.

Will you just watch as this grassland gets trampled by evil, and remain unmoved?"

Diabolos paused for a moment:

"Honorable Death God’s Messenger, what do you mean by this?"

The Tree of Human Essence

"The wave of Spiritual Energy Revival is about to arrive here soon.

By then, the beasts on the grassland that have awakened to their spiritual intelligence will be coveted by the Extraordinary.

Those Extraordinary are far more terrifying than ordinary poachers.

You don’t have enough power, how will you defend this land?"

Diabolos looked incredulously at the Tree of Human Essence.

The fruit given to Diabolos by the Tree of Human Essence contains a lot of Spiritual Power, along with some of the tree’s knowledge.

After Diabolos devoured the fruit, he could understand what Spiritual Energy Revival and Extraordinary were.

Spiritual Energy Revival started from the ancient and mysterious Oriental nation, is it now reaching the West?

Is disaster looming?

Diabolos showed a look of embarrassment.

He just righteously refused the gift from the Tree of Human Essence, and now he was a bit too embarrassed to ask for it.

The Tree of Human Essence said:

"You need enough power to protect this land. What kind of power do you want?"

Diabolos knew not to miss the opportunity and quickly said:

"I want the wings of an eagle so that I can soar through the sky and patrol the grassland.

I want the poisonous tail of a scorpion, so I can use the venomous sting to kill invaders.

I want the ability to breathe underwater, so I can chase enemies in the water.

I also want the immense strength of an elephant and the speed of a cheetah.

Oh, and I want the ability to be immune to fire...."

As he spoke, Diabolos couldn’t continue, his voice getting quieter.

He felt he was asking for too much.

But the Tree of Human Essence was indifferent.

A slightly purple peach grew on the branch.

That was the Transformation Fruit.

Two undead climbed the tree, picked the Transformation Fruit, and placed it at Diabolos’s mouth.

Diabolos knew this fruit would grant him great power, so he quickly opened his mouth to devour it.

Mysterious power descended.

Diabolos’s body underwent changes.

Black wings protruded from his back, spreading several meters wide, enough to carry Diabolos freely through the air.

Diabolos’s lion tail emitted a purple glow.

A thick and long scorpion tail replaced his lion tail.

Beneath the golden mane, gills that only fish possess appeared.

Diabolos excitedly flapped his wings, circling in the sky.

The robust beastly body, like a small dark cloud.

Diabolos could feel strong power within himself.

The power was in his mind, transmissible to various parts of his body through thoughts.

His strength and speed far surpassed before!

Diabolos suddenly sensed something, with a thought, flames appeared on his fur!

He hurriedly tried to extinguish the flames, only to discover he wasn’t burning, but each strand of his fur was wrapped in flame.

Diabolos landed on the ground, excitedly prostrating:

"Grateful to the great Death God, grateful to the honorable Death God’s Messenger!"

The Tree of Human Essence, indifferently lifted its eyelids, said:

"Protect your grassland well."

Diabolos replied:

"I will conquer the grassland with great strength and form an army of beasts to confront the future catastrophe!"

The Tree of Human Essence was indifferent to Diabolos’s plan.

It was there under Li Yang’s orders, to scatter some seeds before the Blood Moon arrived abroad.

Some, extraordinary seeds.

The Tree of Human Essence thought of something, a gentle look appeared in its eyes, and it spoke:

"If in the future, you encounter a little monkey that breathes fire, you must do your best to help him."

Diabolos respectfully replied:

"As you command!"

After the Tree of Human Essence finished speaking, it disappeared into the great grassland.

It had to return to the South Sea to find its master.

The master was recently summoning the Apostles to prepare for the next Blood Moon in Xia Country.

...

In the early morning, near the vast grassland, a survival compound made up of a few makeshift houses.

This compound belonged to the poachers.

Here, they skinned and deboned the hunted animals.

There was a constant foul smell, and flies were abundant.

A weary Big Beard pushed open the door, and a few poacher underlings quickly helped the boss to rest.

Big Beard gulped down water, laughing heartily:

"I killed Diabolos!"

The underlings all looked shocked.

"Diabolos? That Legendary Lion King?"

"Impossible, Boss, you were too fierce!"

"How did you kill it, Boss, tell us in detail."

Nobody cared about the poachers killed by Diabolos.

They were all desperadoes, struggling between life and death, fighting desperately for wealth.

Big Beard vividly described the scene at that time.

Suddenly, there was the sound of something heavy falling on the roof of the makeshift house.

"Bang!"

The entire makeshift house started to shake.

The poachers became alert.

In their minds, they wondered what kind of beast dared to come here seeking death?

Judging by the sound, it was something large, a big fellow.

The next second, they knew what it was.

The metal roof of the makeshift house was punctured, exposing the sharp lion claws in front of everyone.

Then, a terrifying lion’s roar came from above the roof.

The metal roof of the makeshift house was actually lifted off!

Looking up, a winged monster was clutching the metal roof, hovering in the sky.

Big Beard squinted, a twitch at the corner of his eye:

"This, this is Diabolos!"

The lion’s gaze and the ferocious scar at the corner of its eye, Big Beard would never forget in his lifetime.

This was Diabolos!

Diabolos had returned from Hell, carrying an unimaginable power seeking revenge!

Diabolos threw aside the metal sheet in its hand, pouncing towards the inside of the makeshift house.

In an instant, spilled blood dyed the place red, with screams and cries for mercy ceaselessly ringing out.

A young man frantically fled.

He was lucky to escape the compound and did not face the same immediate death as his companions.

Unfortunately, pursuing him was the Extraordinary Lion King that hated poachers thoroughly!

Diabolos, flapping its wings, chased after him.

The young man’s strength gave out, he fell to the ground, looking at Diabolos in horror, continuously moving backward.

Until his back hit a stone, he realized he had nowhere left to run.

Diabolos stepped slowly towards the young man.

The young man clasped his hands together, praying constantly.

At this moment, only the god he believed in could redeem him.

Diabolos raised its claw, ready to smash the young man in the next second.

"Great Death God, please forgive my death, please redeem your lost lamb..."

This young man was a member of the Seven Commandments Association.

Diabolos heard the young man’s prayer, its movements paused.

The young man looked at the scene in surprise.

Had the Death God heard his prayers?

Or did this monster revere the name of the Death God?

The young man hurriedly knelt in front of Diabolos, pleading for mercy:

"I joined the poacher gang because I chose the wrong path, I just joined.

I promise I didn’t harm any lions or any beasts!

If you are willing to let me go, I will surely join the Anti-Poaching Alliance and be a good person from now on.

I beg you, for the sake of my Lord, the Death God."

Diabolos leaned in close to the young man, sniffing him.

The warm breath made the young man tremble.

Diabolos turned away, flapped its wings, and disappeared into the sky.

The young man was so overwhelmed with emotion after surviving the ordeal that he cried and laughed, tearing off the poacher gang’s badge and stamping it furiously underfoot.

...

This event will become a celebrated story in the future.

With the mercy of the Death God, the resurrected Legendary Lion King returned from Hell with mighty power.

The Lion King avenged the poacher gang, yet a believer of the Death God survived due to his sincere prayers.

From now on, under the guidance of the Death God, that believer joined the Anti-Poaching Alliance, dedicating his life to protecting the grassland, so as not to betray the grace of the Death God.
