Chapter 358: Chapter 426: Thousand-Year Scorpion

South Sea, Six Paths Biotechnology Company, President’s Office.

Li Yang sat in the office, a cigarette between his fingers.

Suzu, with a beaming smile, squatted in front of the desk, her large eyes fixed on the cigarette butt in Li Yang’s hand.

Every time Li Yang flicked the ash, Suzu would wiggle her fingers, and a small black Demon’s Mouth would appear on the desk to catch the ash.

She was so bored, she treated catching ash like a whack-a-mole game.

That little Demon’s Mouth wasn’t very bright, maybe it had no intelligence at all, utterly fearless.

It opened its mouth wide, wooing, as if challenging Li Yang:

No matter how you flick the ash, your ash will be eaten by me completely, your ash can’t escape my mouth!

At this moment, there was a knock on the door.

Lilith, with her golden-ratio figure unique to the black race, walked in with long strides.

Lilith bowed slightly and said:

"My lord, the monster is ready. When do you want to release it to Huaqi? Please give the order."

Li Yang’s lips curled into a faint smile as he stuffed the glowing cigarette butt into the Demon’s Mouth.

The intense heat made the Demon’s Mouth scream.

Suzu quickly withdrew the Demon’s Mouth and asked:

"What monster? Where? Let me see!"

Li Yang stood up, looking at Lilith with an inquiring gaze.

Lilith remained in her bowed posture:

"In the containment room, would you like to move over?"

....

Six Paths Technology, underground.

The entrance to the containment area was a heavy, watertight door.

Beside the door, an electronic screen flashed with a series of complex codes and blinking indicators.

The high-tech security system remained ever vigilant.

Two Cleaners stood at the door, bowing their heads when they saw Lilith and the others arrive.

In a cold voice, Lilith said:

"Open the door."

A Cleaner guard standing at the door entered a series of numbers, followed by fingerprint and iris recognition, and the watertight door opened slowly.

The surrounding walls were made of special alloy, glimmering with a chilling light.

The ceiling was embedded with lighting equipment, illuminating the containment area brightly yet ominously.

The inside of the containment area was vast, with large spaces isolated by more watertight doors.

Outside each large room were mysterious and intriguing names.

Five-clawed Sea Dragon, Giant Dragon, Nine-tailed Fox, Yamata no Orochi, Taotie, Thousand-Year Scorpion.

Six Paths Biotechnology’s current mission was to use Extraordinary Power and biological engineering to create monsters of legend.

Here, many monsters were still semi-finished.

However, the Five-clawed Sea Dragon had already been successfully created and had even created an extraordinary Sea Race with its own hands in the ocean, establishing its unique Dragon Palace.

Lilith walked to the entrance of one room, inputting a series of codes at the door.

Outside that room were three words: "Thousand-Year Scorpion."

The Thousand-Year Scorpion was originally a legendary monster from the Pyramid Country.

Legend has it that a warlike Pharaoh invaded another great nation.

Unfortunately, he was defeated and, with his remaining troops, got lost in the desert.

His soldiers died of thirst one after another, and soon he was the only one left.

On the brink of death, the Pharaoh made a promise to the Death God.

If only he could destroy the enemy nation, he would gladly offer his own soul.

The Death God’s grace descended.

The Death God turned that Pharaoh into a terrifying scorpion and also granted the Pharaoh an Undead Legion.

After the Pharaoh destroyed the enemy nation, the Pharaoh and the Death God’s Undead Legion vanished from the world.

The scorpion the Pharaoh transformed into was called the Thousand-Year Scorpion.

"Wow, what a huge scorpion!"

Suzu couldn’t help but exclaim at the spectacle of the Thousand-Year Scorpion in the giant container.

The scorpion was in a state of slumber, with the container filled with Sleep Liquid to suppress the scorpion’s ferocity.

The immense container was also covered with all sorts of strange instruments and pipes.

From time to time, ghostly blue light pulsed through the pipes, emitting slight buzzing sounds, as if a certain energy was surging.

The pipes’ endpoints connected directly to the Thousand-Year Scorpion’s body.

If not for the electric arcs and anesthetic agents in the pipes, the Thousand-Year Scorpion might have already broken free from the container.

Li Yang said:

"Release it."

Lilith bowed in obedience and pulled the switch near the container.

The ghostly blue light in the pipes went out.

Without those restraints, the Thousand-Year Scorpion quickly revived, letting out a roar, shattering the custom-made glass container in an instant.

Though the glass was valuable, for Six Paths Biotechnology, it was just another ordinary consumable.

The Thousand-Year Scorpion, with its sharp limbs, crushed the container’s glass, standing on the ground in full view.

Compared to when it was in the container, the now unrestrained Thousand-Year Scorpion was even more daunting.

The Thousand-Year Scorpion’s body was enormous, like a small hill.

A tough shell covered its entire body, shining with a dark, icy gleam as if made from the most robust metal.

Its giant pincers resembled two sharp scythes, whose mere swing created a whooshing sound in the air.

The scorpion’s tail arched high, ending in a thick, venomous barb that trembled slightly in the air.

Six eerie red eyes glowed like the ghostly fires of Hell, sending chills down one’s spine.

The ferocity of the Thousand-Year Scorpion was immense, destroying whatever living thing it saw.

It moved towards Li Yang and the others, its sturdy legs leaving deep marks on the ground.

The Thousand-Year Scorpion lifted its giant pincers, aiming to smash Li Yang in the forefront.

Li Yang furrowed his brows.

It seemed that the monsters created by Six Paths Technology found it difficult to possess intelligence.

The creation of the Five-clawed Sea Dragon had taken an unknown amount of time and resources.

Could it be that the creation of the Five-clawed Sea Dragon was a mere fluke?

"Insolent!"

Lilith’s soul became frightened as she saw the Thousand-Year Scorpion directly attacking Li Yang.

To offend the Death God is such a grave offense!

As Lilith was about to intervene, Suzu acted first, flying toward the Thousand-Year Scorpion, her face full of excitement:

"It’s been so long since I stretched my muscles, let me see what it’s got."

Suzu saying she hadn’t exercised in a long time was just flaunting.

Having lived with Li Yang since childhood, she was well protected and never had the chance to fight other cats.

Growing up, Suzu only fought once, during the early days of the Demon Club’s ’large urban feline murder incident.’

A dark power emerged from Suzu’s hand, accompanied by appearing spells around her.

Those spells seemed intelligent, drifting toward the Thousand-Year Scorpion.

Some spells transformed into Demon’s Mouths, biting at the Thousand-Year Scorpion.

Others transformed into two-headed birds, continuously pecking at the Thousand-Year Scorpion’s body.

The scorpion’s shell was very tough, a product of high-tech and Extraordinary power.

Suzu’s attacks could hardly impact the Thousand-Year Scorpion.

Suzu’s small face showed anger.

She felt embarrassed in front of Lilith and Li Yang.

But it wasn’t really her fault.

The Black Witch wasn’t powerful in terms of combat; her various means were more supportive.

Like her prophetic abilities or curse capabilities.
