Chapter 433: Chapter 320: Brain Demon Derivative, Blood of the Gale Feather Messenger! (Part 2)

Gugu circled high in the sky, calling out continuously. Its silhouette was soon spotted by the contestants around the manor.

In an instant, the regional channel exploded. Any contestant who knew a bit about Fang Zhou recognized that this Pearl Bird, Gugu, was his eye in the sky. With the Pearl Bird at the manor, Fang Zhou was certainly nearby.

The manor’s outer wall was, in effect, a solid fortress wall. To the contestants, it was an insurmountable barrier. The walls were covered with demons that had mutated from the original guards. Aside from the main gate, the other three sides were bordered by a vile moat. The water gleamed strangely under the dim lights, and occasionally, massive shadows could be seen gliding beneath the surface. The contestants could even see large, barb-scaled fish swimming in the moat, their appearance alone enough to make one recoil in fear.

After observing from outside for a while, the contestants quickly gave up on the idea of climbing the walls and began searching for the main gate instead. However, the enormous metal main gate was shut tight. Only a side gate was ajar, looking as if it had been torn open by some immense force. Through this crack, they could vaguely see a narrow passage, over twenty yards long and only wide enough for one person at a time.

Before long, more than a dozen contestants had gathered there, all of whom had clearly been searching the vicinity for Fang Zhou. Through the narrow opening, they could see Fang Zhou in the distance, yet no one dared to make a rash move. The gap was too narrow; entering it meant placing themselves directly in Fang Zhou’s line of fire.

CLICK... SNAP...

With a soft noise, a hidden Spiky Trap suddenly sprang, and the sides of the narrow passage were instantly lined with sharp spikes. An Assassin who had been sneaking into the passage froze. He looked up toward Fang Zhou, only to see Fang Zhou waving at him. "Safe travels, buddy. I won’t see you out."

Immediately, the three Skeleton Archers summoned at the edge of the passage instantly shot the Assassin dead. As the Assassin fell, his blood splattered onto the stone walls, standing out starkly.

"As expected, there’s always a Pioneer. I admire these people," Fang Zhou shouted to the contestants outside, his tone filled with provocation. "So, who else is willing to throw their life away? I’m running short on points."

Too arrogant. That was the feeling among both the contestants on-site and the spectators watching from afar. He killed someone outright and then followed it up with a map-wide taunt. Fang Zhou’s attitude was clearly, "You’re all trash, so you should be pecking at each other instead of lining up to give me free points."

"Fang Zhou, do you really think you’re invincible?" a Mage contestant said coldly, his voice full of displeasure. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"Yeah, what’s he so smug about? If you have guts, come out for a proper duel. Hiding inside doesn’t prove anything," a Warrior contestant scoffed, his tone dripping with contempt.

"What kind of man ambushes people from hiding?"

As more contestants gathered outside, their voices grew louder and more indignant as they shouted, attempting to enrage Fang Zhou with their words.

Facing these taunts, Fang Zhou raised the Undead Magic Ball in his hand, pointed it at the crowd, and declared, "A whole mob of you comes to gang up on me, trying to kill me for the Portable Concentration Meditation Array, and you still want me to talk about honor? I only have one thing to say to you: come and fight."

"You ambushed my friend! I’m here for revenge. This has nothing to do with any Portable Concentration Meditation Array," the Mage retorted, his face a mask of disdain.

"That’s right! We’re here to avenge our friend!" someone else chimed in.

"What Portable Concentration Meditation Array? You’re overthinking things."

Fang Zhou let out a cold laugh. "Ridiculous. Talking to you is a waste of my breath. You wanted a duel, didn’t you? Fine. I’ll give you a chance. Come on in. Do you dare?"

The Mage contestant took a few steps forward. "Fine, I’m coming. Watch me kill you. Everyone, give me a Shield."

Warily, he entered the passage through the crack. He walked about ten yards, reaching the area where the Assassin had triggered the Spiky Trap. A confident smile touched the Mage’s lips, as if he thought nothing of such traps. "You think these little gadgets can stop me?"

The Mage smirked, and then his figure flickered, disappearing from its spot and reappearing outside the range of the three Skeleton Archers. "Don’t forget, I have plenty of Displacement Skills."

However, at the very instant he shifted, Fang Zhou’s arm had already swiveled, precisely tracking his destination. With a crisp *whizz*, the Skeleton Flying Spear shot from Fang Zhou’s hand.

The Mage had just reappeared when the Skeleton Flying Spear arrived with lightning speed. He reacted swiftly, instantly casting a Magic Shield. But the sheer power of the Skeleton Flying Spear shattered the shield and embedded itself deep in the Mage’s throat.

The Mage clutched his neck, the smugness not yet faded from his eyes, as he stared at Fang Zhou in utter disbelief. But his life was already gone. His soul transformed into a beam of white light as he was eliminated from the competition, dying with his final words caught in his throat.

"Who else?" Fang Zhou raised the Crystal Ball in his hand again, pointing it at the people outside. His voice echoed in the empty passage, carrying an air of undeniable authority.

Due to the angle, the contestants outside hadn’t seen the full sequence of the Mage shifting inside. But they all knew he was a member of the rare Gale Feather Messenger Mage Profession, famous for his Displacement Skills and evasion. While many thought he would be no match for Fang Zhou, they had expected him to at least delay Fang Zhou for a while. If he could be held up for even a dozen seconds, more contestants could pour in, and the situation would no longer be dictated by Fang Zhou alone. Even someone as powerful as Fang Zhou would have met his end.

But the current situation left everyone dumbfounded. Why had the Mage fallen silent the moment he entered?

Only the spectators watching the entire match could clearly see what happened. The replay showed that at the very moment the Mage shifted, Fang Zhou had instantly adjusted his aim and launched the Skeleton Flying Spear. As soon as the Mage appeared in his new position, the spear was already piercing his throat.

No one needed to explain it. At the moment of the shift, Fang Zhou had used his Soul Realm to predict the Mage’s destination from his soul’s trajectory. This was why the Mage had no chance to execute a second shift and was struck precisely in a vital point, killed in a single blow.

"Another divine-level prediction! Is that even possible?" one student in the viewing area exclaimed, his eyes wide with disbelief.

"Damn it, is he even human? Displacement Skills are supposed to be unpredictable. How did he predict it so accurately?" another contestant complained, his voice filled with shock and frustration.

"Boss Fang Zhou is invincible! I’ll ask it: Who else dares?" someone shouted, their voice brimming with admiration and awe.

The viewing area above Sea City Military Academy roared with applause and cheers. The spectating contestants were completely conquered by Fang Zhou’s performance.

Fang Zhou briefly cleaned up the battlefield to ensure no hidden dangers remained. He then poked his head out again and called to the contestants outside, "I’ll ask one more time. Does anyone else want to come in for a duel?"

By now, the number of contestants outside had grown from a handful to over a dozen, and more were still arriving. Many of their faces burned with shame. They had been taunting him for so long, only to have the one most skilled in evasion go in talking big. And the result? His moment in the spotlight didn’t even last three seconds before he was taken out.

The crowd exchanged bewildered glances, completely at a loss for what to do. The problem was that the opening was simply too small, allowing only one person through at a time. And with Fang Zhou’s attack power being notoriously, insanely high, a frontal assault was too difficult. Rushing in would just be a death wish.
