Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone-Chapter 446 - 328: Magic-guided Crystal Cannon, Surging Potential!
The trainees were all somewhat familiar with Fang Zhou’s history. They naturally knew that the skeletal warrior with the double axe was the Berserker Heroic Spirit Fang Zhou had received from General Ning Feihu, a being named Olaf.
Then, under their stunned gazes, Olaf ignited the fuse, leaving the participating trainees bewildered. They had no concept of the Magic-guided Crystal Cannon’s power, but they could imagine it would be immense. At this point, it was useless no matter what Mo Zishu shouted. The trainees hurriedly sought cover, but it was clearly too late.
Immediately after, a deafening roar shattered the silence as a massive fireball erupted from the cannon’s mouth. Its speed was incredible, like a burning meteor streaking across the sky. Trailing a long tail of fire, it traced a perfect parabolic trajectory. Everyone present could only watch helplessly as it soared through the air until it finally detonated on the ground. Accompanied by two heart-wrenching screams, a pair of unlucky trainees were crushed to death, leaving a large crater in their wake.
"Hahaha, is this how you plan to threaten us—"
BOOM!
Before Mo Zishu could finish laughing, a massive explosion stunned him into silence as he watched a burst of light erupt. What followed was a circular shockwave of fire, carrying a scorching blast of air and shattered stones as it rapidly expanded outward. The trainees on the field hadn’t even had time to react before the shockwave swept over them, incinerating a quarter of the courtyard. In a flash of white light, more than ten trainees were mercilessly killed. The earth itself seemed to tremble in that moment. The once-level ground had become a massive crater, resembling the impact of a meteorite and sending a chill down everyone’s spine.
Before the trainees could recover from their shock, Fang Zhou’s icy voice swept over them like a frigid wind. "You’ve all just witnessed the power of this Magic-guided Crystal Cannon. The blast has a radius of one hundred yards, and within it, not a single blade of grass will survive. Five cannonballs can cover this entire courtyard. So, gentlemen, would any of you like to experience it for yourselves?"
Mo Zishu struggled to his feet, patting the dirt from his clothes, his eyes filled with disbelief and rage. "Are you threatening us?"
Fang Zhou’s lips curled into a cold smile, making no effort to hide his intentions. "Yes, I am. What about it? If I got points for killing you with the Magic-guided Crystal Cannon, do you think you’d still be standing here acting so arrogantly?"
He cast a cold gaze over the surviving trainees and said, "I’ll ask one last time. Are we parting on good terms, or should I fire off a few more rounds for your entertainment?"
As his words fell, the eerie skeletons on the city wall once again hefted the heavy Magic-guided Cannonballs. Though their movements were stiff, they exuded an irresistible sense of power.
The trainees’ faces turned deathly pale. They were all masters accustomed to teetering on the edge of life and death, so they didn’t fear dying in the simulation battlefield. After all, it was just a virtual world; at worst, they would have to restart. However, dying this way was utterly meaningless. More importantly, a dueling arena that offered a path into the top twenty was waiting for them up ahead. With a chance to advance, who would be willing to get eliminated here for no reason?
"Fang Zhou, please, don’t be rash. Let’s just part ways peacefully," one trainee pleaded, his tone one of clear compromise.
"Right, right! Part peacefully! The duels are about to start anyway. Fang Zhou, why don’t you go on ahead?" another chimed in, trying to change the subject.
In their hearts, their resentment for Fang Zhou surged like a torrential river, but for the sake of precious points and the opportunity to advance, these proud trainees had no choice but to bow their heads.
Surrounded by skeletons, Fang Zhou and his companions slowly descended the high steps, and the surrounding trainees quickly parted to make way for them. Under these circumstances, continuing to resist was clearly pointless. The terrifying power of the Magic-guided Crystal Cannon had left a deep shadow in their hearts. A chance for revenge would come eventually, but for now, they chose to make a rational retreat to avoid unnecessary losses.
As the group walked toward the center of the courtyard, a sly glint flashed in Mo Zishu’s eyes, and he shouted, "Everyone, they’re in the middle of the courtyard now! If they fire the Magic-guided Crystal Cannon again, they’ll be caught in the blast themselves. Remember, the Magic-guided Crystal Cannon doesn’t distinguish between friend or foe. This is the perfect opportunity to eliminate them!"
Hearing this, Fang Zhou stopped. He swept a calm gaze over the tense trainees around him and replied flatly, "You’re still not giving up? Are you really that desperate for the Celestial City Military Academy’s ranking points? Do you think everyone here is a fool willing to die with you? Why are you wasting everyone’s time when we could be heading to the dueling arena?"
"Fang Zhou is bluffing, can’t you all see?" Mo Zishu’s voice was filled with incitement, unwilling to give up so easily. "They’re surrounded! Just a few volleys, and we can take him down!"
Initially, he had been on the verge of annihilating Fang Zhou and his team, which would have severely hindered their progress on the leaderboard. But the turn of events had completely exceeded his expectations. He simply couldn’t fathom how Fang Zhou had gained control of such a destructive weapon.
"The Portable Concentration Meditation Array is right there! All we need is one minute of your time!" Mo Zishu continued to rally the crowd.
However, Fang Zhou’s patience had run out. His cold gaze locked onto Mo Zishu. "Enough of your babbling," he said grimly. "I’ve tolerated you for long enough!"
As he spoke, he raised his hand. A gleaming, ice-cold Skeleton Flying Spear rapidly formed in the air and shot toward Mo Zishu with blinding speed. With a sharp whistle, the spear tore through the air, howling as it closed in on its target.
Just as the spear was about to strike, a green barrier of light materialized in front of Mo Zishu—a protective magic he had hastily activated. However, the shield lasted only for an instant before the spear mercilessly shattered it. The spear pierced straight through Mo Zishu’s chest, critically wounding him and leaving him on the brink of death.
Mo Zishu had never expected Fang Zhou to strike first with such decisiveness. As a wave of intense pain washed over him, he immediately activated his emergency healing magic, casting a Rejuvenation Skill on himself. In the next instant, his body convulsed and transformed into a nimble black panther. With a few agile leaps, he swiftly ducked behind a massive statue, vanishing from Fang Zhou’s line of sight.
As an extremely rare Shapeshifting Druid, Mo Zishu possessed incredible survivability and versatile combat forms. Even in such a perilous situation, he had managed to escape with his life thanks to the advantages of his Profession.
