Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!-Chapter 343: Psychopath
Speaking of Eric Holt, Desmond Fairchild’s gaze suddenly turned sharp: "He and his mother both have aspirations higher than the sky. His mother schemed to harm my mother and become the lady of the Fairchild Family, and he, like his mother, has been unscrupulous since childhood."
"What’s going on?" asked Seraphina Sinclair, holding her breath, eager to hear more from Desmond Fairchild.
"Living under the same roof, when my father was alive, he pretended to be a good child in front of him and framed me more than once, causing my father to scold me. Being scolded was a minor thing, I didn’t care, but even from a young age, he repeatedly hinted to my father to pass the inheritance rights of Cloudsea Group to him, and he even..."
"Even what?" Although Desmond’s expression didn’t change much, Seraphina became anxious, concerned about Desmond’s past situation despite it already being history.
Seeing her clenching her hands, worried for him, Desmond felt a warmth in his heart and shook his head, saying, "Anyway, it’s all in the past. His sudden appearance now is for Cloudsea Group. Back then, the Fairchild Family didn’t acknowledge him as a young master, and now he holds a grudge against the Fairchild Family. The incident where you were kidnapped and cornered on Diamond Island was all related to him."
"So promise me, whether I am by your side or not, you must protect yourself well, okay?"
"Even without your reminder, I would be careful. But why is he always targeting me? Could it really just be because of the relationship between us?"
If that were the case, Nate thought Eric Holt was somewhat of a psychological pervert.
Even considering his unusual relationship with Desmond, even if Eric really killed her, so what?
Does he really think that by killing her, Desmond would hand over Cloudsea Group to him?
From Seraphina Sinclair’s understanding of Desmond, if Eric truly did something to her, Desmond might sink into sadness for a while, but he would never let Eric get away with it.
"He indeed wants to use you to threaten me, but I believe his reasons for targeting you go beyond that," Desmond sighed lightly, determined to protect Seraphina no matter what.
Seraphina looked at him, puzzled: "What do you mean by that? Could there be other reasons for him to target me?"
"Eric Holt, influenced by his mother from a young age, will go to any lengths to obtain what he desires. In his worldview, if he can’t have something, he’d rather destroy it than let others have it. And if someone else has something he does not, he’ll do whatever it takes to destroy it."
After hearing Desmond’s explanation, Seraphina frowned deeply: "This is already a psychological disorder. Isn’t it dangerous to go against him?"
Listening to Desmond’s description, it was clear that Eric Holt had significant issues with his mentality.
If he can’t have it, he’ll destroy it; this clearly indicates a perverted mindset.
No wonder she was repeatedly kidnapped and cornered, not because she had done anything wrong, but because of Eric Holt’s perverse psychology.
He is dead set against Desmond, yet Desmond has a girlfriend while he does not, so he must try everything to make Desmond lose her completely.
This is downright sick, and Seraphina couldn’t help but feel creeped out.
She rubbed her arms and quietly asked Desmond: "So, did you leave me back then for this reason? But why did you get involved with Nina Kerr?"
"I thought that pretending to fall in love with Nina would make Eric change his target and stop hurting you and Jude, but he was much more clever than I imagined. Even though I pretended to have a passionate relationship with Nina, his target from beginning to end was you, and it never changed."
Desmond also felt regretful, knowing that if he had known this before, he wouldn’t have left Seraphina so hastily, leading to their relationship being in the state it was now.
But it’s too late for regrets now, and he could only try to salvage his relationship with Seraphina. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"So that’s it." Seraphina was at a loss for words, realizing how cunning Eric Holt was. Fortunately, she hadn’t dealt with him before, and as she expected, Eric was not a good person.
Tonight, she finally heard Desmond explain everything clearly, and she finally understood his dedication back then.
She believed that when Desmond left her, it was indeed for her own good.
After all, at the time, various situations kept arising, and Desmond had no choice but to act to ensure a stable life for her and her family.
Yet, Seraphina still felt frustrated. While being protected felt nice, she preferred to stand by Desmond, helping him face challenges and moving forward together.
Unfortunately, Desmond didn’t understand her thoughts back then, which caused their relationship to become more strained.
At this point, Desmond looked at Seraphina, slightly embarrassed, and sincerely admitted, "Seraphina, what happened before was entirely my fault. I shouldn’t have left you alone. I promise that no matter what happens in the future, I won’t keep things from you."
"Are you serious about this?" Seraphina asked, still skeptical.
How could he change so much? He hadn’t realized his mistakes before, so why did he suddenly see things differently now?
"Quentin Jennings told me that no matter what I do, I should take your perspective into account and not make decisions for you. So, I’ve decided that regardless of what happens in the future, I want to face everything with you," Desmond admitted frankly. Indeed, it was Quentin who enlightened him, an angle he had never considered before.
He once thought that his silent protection was the best for Seraphina, but now he knew that Seraphina was not like his mother; she was stronger and more independent. She needed the love and care of a partner, but even when alone, she could protect herself.
She never wanted to be a sheltered flower; even if she were a blossom, she would be a thorny rose.
"I see, it was Quentin who told you." Seraphina scoffed, knowing that this straightforward man wouldn’t have had so many thoughts.
But considering what he had done to protect her before, she decided to give him a small concession.
So, she pretended to be angry and looked at him: "If Quentin hadn’t pointed it out, would you not have known my thoughts? Were you planning to persist in this way forever?"
"I admit I was shortsighted, but if you never forgive me, I can only stick to you until you come back to me," Desmond said, pulling Seraphina into his embrace, his long arms circling the woman tightly, a satisfied smile on his handsome face.
Seraphina struggled symbolically, but ultimately yielded and nestled in Desmond’s embrace: "I never said we were making up, and don’t push your luck."
"Are you sure you don’t want to come back to me?" Desmond’s tone was somewhat forlorn.
Seraphina arrogantly raised her head, gazing into his eyes: "Do you think I’m that easy to placate? You think a few words would sway me? Dream on. There’s no way I’ll forgive you so easily, you can just forget about it..."
