Chapter 351: Chapter 351: Reconciliation

Seraphina Sinclair’s eyebrows furrowed even more tightly. She gave Quentin Jennings a sideways glance, signaling him to shut up.

She really didn’t want to see this scene. Matters of the heart shouldn’t be forced. Even without Desmond Fairchild, she couldn’t possibly be with Keith Hughes.

It seemed necessary to find a time to have a good chat with Keith Hughes, so he wouldn’t waste any more time on her.

Not wanting to see the two men argue, she made up an excuse and slipped away.

With the main character gone, the two men had no reason to continue, and Keith Hughes also took his leave.

That evening, when Seraphina returned home, she collapsed weakly onto the big bed, still pondering Keith Hughes’ matter.

As she was frowning, she heard the door open and, with her head buried, said to the person entering, "I’m upset right now. Can you not bother me?"

"What’s the matter? What’s bothering our little girl? Tell me," Desmond Fairchild sat beside Seraphina with a cup of hot milk, gently rubbing her head with his warm hand.

Upon hearing Desmond’s voice, Seraphina immediately lifted her head from the pillow and turned to look at him. "What are you doing here?"

Desmond raised an eyebrow, "Can’t I come to see my wife? What’s the problem?"

"Who’s your wife?" Seraphina’s face flushed, and she retorted softly.

"Whoever answers is." Desmond rubbed her head again, with tender affection almost overflowing from his gaze.

Even though she had known Desmond for so long, Seraphina still couldn’t face his sweet talk directly. Every time he said such things, she would blush and her heart would race.

Seraphina sat up, patted her flushed cheeks, and solemnly asked, "What are you doing here? Is there something you need?"

Desmond shook his head slightly, "No, I just wanted to see you."

Seraphina felt a warmth in her heart, and her tone unconsciously softened a bit, "Who asked you to come? I’m just fine."

"Oh yes, you’re doing so well that you skipped dinner and locked yourself in your room. You’re really doing great," Desmond’s tone held a hint of reproach. He patted Seraphina’s shoulder and handed her the hot milk, "Drink up."

"How do you know everything?" Seraphina quickly grabbed the milk from his hand and drank it all in one gulp, wondering if Desmond had planted a spy around her.

"Jude told me. He said you locked yourself in your room without eating or drinking right when you got home. As the child’s father, and more importantly, as your husband, I should check on you."

Desmond said "your husband" so naturally, as if he and Seraphina had never been apart.

Gazing into his eyes filled with deep affection, Seraphina quickly lost herself in their depth, forgetting to argue about him calling himself her husband.

Being stared at like that by Seraphina, Desmond’s smile widened unconsciously. His big hands pinched her soft neck, his tone indescribably tender, "Seraphina, let’s get back together."

Seraphina, immersed in those star-like eyes, completely forgot to refute, and softly replied, "Okay."

"You agreed?" Desmond’s eyes lit up instantly, the smile reaching his eyes.

"What?" The realization dawned on Seraphina; what had she just said?

"You agreed to get back together with me." Desmond enunciated clearly.

Seraphina shook her head, "I never said..."

Before she knew it, Desmond pulled out his phone. The recording clearly played their conversation, where Seraphina distinctly replied "Okay" after Desmond’s question.

Oh my!

What had she just said?

Saying Desmond is a seductive fox wasn’t an exaggeration. Just a few more glances at that face, and she ended up saying all sorts of foolish things. It was truly enough.

In the past, she thought the stories about ancient emperors neglecting court affairs for beauty were exaggerated. Now she realized, whether it’s male or female allure, no normal person could resist.

"You’ve heard the recording, the evidence is here. If you go back on your word, I won’t accept it," Desmond knew Seraphina always kept her promises, so he wasn’t worried she’d deny it.

Seraphina bit her lip and had to concede, "I’ll reconcile with you, but I have three conditions."

As long as Seraphina agreed to reconcile, Desmond was willing to agree to not just three, but three hundred conditions: "Tell me."

"First, don’t hide anything from me in the future."

"Okay, I promise."

"Second, cut ties with Nina Kerr and those other women. I don’t want another Anna around you."

"Alright, I promise you."

"Third, and most importantly, no matter what happens in the future, don’t ever mention breaking up with me. Unless, you truly don’t love me anymore."

This was the point Seraphina cared about the most.

Having experienced a failed marriage, she was truly afraid of falling into the mire again. She wasn’t afraid of committing to a new relationship, just of being betrayed once more.

Compared to being passively dumped, if Desmond fell in love with someone else, she’d rather he just tell her directly, instead of waiting for her to discover it and then breaking up passively.

Desmond also understood the hurt Seraphina had suffered before and was very aware of her concerns, so he solemnly promised her, "Honey, rest assured, what you’re worried about will never happen again. When it comes to being a good partner, I might not have done well enough before, but I’ll try my best to do better."

"You better keep your word, or I’ll make sure you regret it," Seraphina dropped her usual gentle demeanor and threatened Desmond.

Desmond also agreed wholeheartedly, "I promise to keep my word, or you can handle me however you see fit."

"Hmph." Seraphina huffed proudly, yet a hint of a smile appeared in her eyes.

She had indeed considered reconciling with Desmond, just didn’t expect it to happen so quickly. But everything in life follows a cycle of cause and effect, and she chose to let this matter take its natural course.

After reconciling, their relationship became even sweeter. Even just looking at each other, the sweet atmosphere was palpable.

Next day, Desmond moved back into Azure Cloud Shores, and the family of three was finally reunited.

And whereas before, Desmond and Seraphina always slept in separate rooms, after reconciling, they stayed in the same room.

At night, after Seraphina finished her bath and got into bed, Desmond watched her with his deep eyes.

"What’s up? Why are you looking at me like that?" Seraphina asked carelessly while drying her hair.

Desmond’s deep voice came from beside her, "Keith Hughes sent you a message just now, asking to meet."

While Seraphina was bathing, Keith Hughes texted her. After seeing it, Desmond wanted to delete it and not respond, but the words he promised Seraphina still lingered. Not hiding or deceiving is her principle.

Rather than hiding it from Seraphina, it was better to tell her openly, which would make her see him as a generous husband instead.

As expected, upon hearing Desmond mention Keith Hughes reaching out, Seraphina was a bit embarrassed: "There’s really nothing between my senior and me. Do you trust me?"
