Chapter 565: Chapter 565: It’s Either You Die or I Perish (1)

"Princely Heir? Commandery Princess?" Dugu Chen was full of surprise, casting doubtful glances at Prince Fu.

His surprise, when observed by Prince Fu, was so genuine that it instantly dispelled the sliver of suspicion in his heart. He smiled at the Divine Doctor, "My son and daughter were accidentally poisoned the day before yesterday. Neither the Mansion Physician nor the best doctors in Yezhou Prefecture could help. That is why we’ve turned to you again, Divine Doctor."

Dugu Chen slightly raised his sword-like eyebrows and smiled lightly, "The Divine Doctor can provide treatment, but you do know the rules of the Divine Doctor, don’t you?"

"Heh, how could I not know? Exchanging the lives of two people for the lives of my children. Am I right, Prince?" Although Prince Fu’s face was smiling, his smile did not reach his eyes, and even after smiling, a trace of ruthlessness flashed through his eyes.

"Correct, very accurate."

"Then please go and have a look, Divine Doctor."

Although Feng Xuxu only half understood, it was clear to her that Prince Fu had agreed to Dugu Chen’s terms.

"Yaoyao, bring the medicine to Prince Fu!" A voice as pleasant as a flute floated over. Feng Xuxu blinked, belatedly realizing it was addressing her.

Feng Xuxu respectfully carried the medicine over, but before she could reach Prince Fu, the butler intercepted it halfway. Feng Xuxu said nothing, politely handed over the bowl to him, and stepped back several paces before returning to her original spot.

The butler tested the medicine with a silver needle, and seeing no poison on the needle, he picked up a soup spoon, took a small sip of the medicine, and after a moment, realizing it was indeed non-poisonous, he finally dared to hand it over to Prince Fu. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Feng Xuxu watched Prince Fu in speechless amazement; the man was incredibly suspicious. Fearing the silver needle might not detect the poison, he actually had someone taste it. Hmph, truly afraid of death.

Dugu Chen also patiently waited, and after watching him finish the medicine, finally asked, "The quarters of the Princely Heir and the Commandery Princess, does the Divine Doctor even know where they are?"

After rinsing his mouth and wiping it, Prince Fu stood up, walked over to Dugu Chen, "I will lead you there," he said, then turned and walked away.

Dugu Chen followed quietly, and Feng Xuxu had no choice but to trail behind. The butler closed the room’s door and, quickening his pace, followed closely behind the Prince.

Soon, they arrived at the Princely Heir’s courtyard. Dugu Chen had Feng Xuxu wait outside while he followed Prince Fu into the house. After waiting the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, the three of them came out, then headed to the side hall.

"Divine Doctor, how is the Princely Heir?"

"Not to worry, one dose of medicine, and he is sure to awaken," Dugu Chen sat in the chair, sipping tea, thinking to himself that it would be odd if he couldn’t cure a poison he had administered.

Prince Fu, hearing this, relaxed slightly. As for the Commandery Princess’s poisoning, he didn’t hear him mention it. It seemed that in his eyes, only his son and himself were important. His daughter came next, and the princess was truly laughable; he hadn’t even heard him mention her once.

"Good, then please, Divine Doctor, write a prescription."

Dugu Chen glanced at him sidelong, tapping the table with his fingers. Prince Fu, understanding the gesture, said, "Go ahead, whose life do you want?"

Dugu Chen’s gaze shifted toward the butler, noting his nervous expression, then looked back at Prince Fu.

"The Divine Doctor wouldn’t have his eyes set on me and the butler, would he?" Prince Fu scoffed, looking at Dugu Chen.

Shaking his head, he fluttered his fingers back and forth, opening his rosy lips, "How could it be? If you were to die, Prince, whom would I go to for gold?"

"Then stop beating around the bush, just say it. As long as it is within my power, it’s granted," he said nonchalantly, as he adjusted the wide sleeves while sitting in the chair.

"Those two Hidden Guards in the dark corner of this room."

At those words, Prince Fu was shocked, pointing his finger at him with agitation, "Don’t you go too far."
